Do Your Friends Know of Your Coasterness?
AJClarke0912 replied to AJClarke0912's topic in Random, Random, Random
I have been wondering that myself! But since I'm like one-of-a-kind in this area, people would think I'm weird. That's the thing people in Kentucky don't get. The nearest park is like 4 hours away. 50% of the population in my town says that the farthest they've gone is Kentucky Lake (45 minutes away). That's like Florida in Paducah-terms, so NOBODY goes up into the "BIG St. Louis", so nobody goes to amusement parks. Some people still think that amusement parks are for you to experience real danger (literally), which is wrong. There is not ONE coaster nerd within a 3 hour radius of where I live...I'm one of a kind. -
^^Well, I wasn't suggesting that it should be like NL-E, I was just stating an extremity! I actually like the laid back exchange here. It's like comparing these forums to New Element (for RCT2'ers)...you don't always want hard ratings and moderation. Just a nice forum and file hosting is great! ^...and I just switched to the Mac...I have no NL files to host. Somebody else go!

^^Well, in the games section, ratings mean more. Videos, not so much. A rating in a game section defines how good the coaster is and where it sits on the list...way more competitive than a video. The rating basically summarizes the coaster and makes people decide whether they want to ride it or not, and with that decision, they could have just skipped out on somebody's hard work. Now Robb, that wasn't fair! I now have a 5/10 rating! That's poopy compared to THIS rating! I deserve better, because I'm a selfish little twirp! **Oh, the realm of coaster exchanges...fights over the ratings...** You can actually see how important ratings are to some people on this NoLimits-Exchange topic...they take a big deal in them... Thanks for the info about the pictures...I didn't know they were linked! Thanks!

Yeah, my NLPack worked. IL PITONE Oh, and one thing Robb: on the ratings, I was able to rate my own coaster (5 stars, of course!). You may want to look into that. Also, to the pictures HAVE to be thumbnails? I mean, I think downsized landscapes would be fine too. The stretchyness of the photos sets me on edge.

My old background: Signature made a year ago (when I started using GIMP): Thunder Falcon promo art (1 year ago, abandoned coaster): Fighter-Blitz promo art (abandoned coaster): A shirt I made for my drumline (it's more faded on the purple on the shirt, matching our school color):

Official Windows 7 Discussion

^So no browser is good! I'm fine with Firefox. It's bazillion add-ons keep me happy and I don't really care about whatever-kb it takes to run it. My computer has never suffered from it, so I'm fine. -
^Oooh, I am! I've always like Sim City 4, but like RCT2, I don't play it uber-realistically. I just play it for fun and less from "project" aspects.

Official Windows 7 Discussion
AJClarke0912 replied to andyuk200523's topic in Random, Random, Random
^Same. I can't stand IE now. And FF and Chrome are great. I usually prefer Firefox (WAY more add-ons and themes for my liking) and has less bugs than Chrome, but Chrome is slightly faster and is more simply designed. I just don't understand why people still like or even use IE anymore. Well based on this discussion, W7 sounds like it can still be sketchy, but then again I heard HORRIBLE reviews and problems with Vista, and I've had this Vista computer for years and it's never had a problem at all! Call me lucky. -
Fire Power - by Wolfgang Gartner I freakin' LOVE the chromatic note run-through in the chorus syncopated with the mixed noises and drum beats. It's awesome.

^The same goes with Halo Reach. Many people (most often Call of Duty fans) hate it and say that it sucks, but it sucks to them because they don't use the right strategies or techniques. I think that's why Halo has such a high replay value versus Call of Duty (where you get sick of it), because there are so many techniques and so much skill involved. In CoD, you have to just shoot straight. In Halo, you have to shoot straight for longer periods of time and be consistent, use different strategies on how to get those shields out based on the current situation, and battle for weapons placed on maps. Call of Duty just requires getting the good guns by playing the game long enough and being able to shoot straight (and in some instances, first). Now, I know CoD also has other strategies, but those are also apparent in Halo or even in any other FPS game. The difficulty of a game shouldn't measure how good it is, that's for sure.

Redline Park [RCT2]
AJClarke0912 replied to QueerRudie's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
OOOH! That Shuttle Loop looks awesome! Please, never EVER touch it aga...*crap*. Rudie that Schwarzy looked SO sexy (it looked like it was underground or in a trench when it wasn't), why the removal?! You should have kept it (for once). I have to say I liked it BETTER than the new ride! -
Okay, this is the best [school] day ever. - First off, it's Friday. That's a point kicker to start the day. +1 - Next, little traffic gets in my way there, a unique situation. +3 - Next, I find out that there is a substitute teacher in EVERY ONE OF MY CLASSES. This saved me from a Physics test as well. +18 - Then, it's pep rally time, and the drumline did a crazy funky step down the stairs to the gym floor and did a drum break (solo) as people cheered. +15 - Then, it's time for The Parlor with friends (a pizza buffet). Nobody is there except us so it was a true party. +5 - Next, it was Park time. There is a park near LOHS. We then found affiliate band people making out, and we scared them (a bass drummer + color guard, and a tuba + color guard). They chased us and we all piled into my car and locked the doors and drove off. They walked back to school. Their faces were priceless. +20 - Then, it was Party-In-The-Bandroom time. There was all sorts of music, from electronic to "Jump On It". I was jerkin' the whole time and it was fun. Party. +10 - Before time for the football game, we went to K-Mart to screw around. The post-Halloween sales section was pretty fun. +8 - We arrive at the football game with huge styrofoam boards that we found at K-Mart. We fenced, and then carved Purple Flashes (yes, our *unique* mascot, I guess you could say) and held them like Zeus. The players liked it and one of the guys started dancing in front of us and high-fiving after a touchdown. +10 - The game ends with a score of 45-43, Lone Oak winning. It was so close, as with under 2 minutes left on the clock the other team fumbled and LOHS ran into the endzone. This saved us from eminent doom, and our season being over. My voice is actually gone right now, as I yelled so loud that now I can only whisper. +20 - On the way back, I pulsed the brakes like I had hydrolics while waving my foam gun (also made from that K-Mart foam) like I was gangster with rap music leading the way. +5 - Then, it's Steak-n-Shake @ 11:30pm time, a tradition. The creepy waiter (who also waited on us last time because she's creepily nice - calls me "Sugar Booger") gave us Silly Bandz. These are my first. Yay, I'm with the times. Also, since my milkshake took 30 minutes to make (they were backed up, and I had to leave), the creepy waiter told me to just walk out with it FREE. +15 - Finally, I go to The "Happiness Pie" Thread to share my amazing day from start to finish. +1 Adding up to a grand total of 131 . My average day has 15 awesome points. And no, I did not make ANY of this up. This day was REALLY that awesome. I'm just so happy right now, and even though I never read this thread, I just HAD to post in it. Yay.

CARS! The Car Super Thread

^Well, obviously not THAT big of a spoiler, but I'm saying he can go with a decent-sized one or a small one. Yeah, the Challenger is a nice car, but I like the remastered Camero better. Doesn't mean I wouldn't take a Challenger in a heartbeat though! -

^Put a spoiler on it (no matter the size, big or small) and you're set! Sounds awesome...post pics when it happens! -

^Wow, a Challenger? NICE! I saw a bluish-turquoise (it's one of the factory colors) one the other day and it looked (IMO) more fantastical, but that red is also really good looking. I wish I could get one! -
Boulder Leisure Park [RCT3]

Why are all the rides' trains/cars in the ugly default blue/yellow/red color scheme?? Paint them! Otherwise, very good. -
^...you turn the roll past 90 degrees... To make a good overbank, there's no real formula (like the other inversions), and overbanks have a big difference based on what kind they are and their placement, as well as what the current track situation is like. Overbanks that are like Millennium Force's are simple 4G-1G-4G sextics (or multi-zone, whichever turns out better) that are placed under two roll sections. You can do this with single zones even (I think). If you're looking for Maverick style overbanks, then there's a lot to consider. Maverick has two overbanks and both are quite different (not in pace, but in shape and direction). A quick 2G-1G-2G sextic with a sextic roll will get a decent job done for a overbank that's like Maverick's first. A 2G-1G-4G transition would be like the second one, and the roll would have to turn one way, then go the other. It's hard to describe because there's no recipe. You can only create them with proper Newton knowledge and just figuring it out.
