^It shouldn't. I don't have that good of a computer (I have 5 fps on some heavy themed rides on occasion), but no matter what the graphic level I set the Simulator on while I record, the end video is always fine. If you double-click on the video and it's laggy, it's your computer (mine does the same thing), because .AVI files are huge. Also, in Windows Movie Maker, the preview of all your clips strung together is laggy, but that's WMM (in which case when you publish the final video, everything is smooth again when you publish to YouTube). Basically, if you have your AVI recording settings set like I said, and you record a video and put it in the format for YouTube and upload it, it should be just fine. If not, it's your computer's speed or the fact that you didn't change the settings in the Simulator.

Redline Park [RCT2]
AJClarke0912 replied to QueerRudie's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
AJC, In this case, the attempt was to make the ride 'fit' correctly for the second block height (the block brake before the double looping element). When I tried to do the 'swoop' around the lake, the train stalled out just before the block brake, and re-configuring it would have required rebuilding the mountain- which wasn't a good option for the ride itself. You could always do a steep sloped drop into a banked curve into an upward swoop. There must be some better options than the one you have...the current one isn't very good looking. Other than that this park is really really awesome!! -
Redline Park [RCT2]
AJClarke0912 replied to QueerRudie's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Hmmm the first dip on Outlaw is really "up in the air". You should find a way to bring that down and make the helix swoop around the lake. Don't put track right on the lake way up in the air. Overall, very nice! If you want, you could give Aeroplane Dips maroon side rails instead of red for a more rustic look. Kinda similar to your old park (starting shuttle loop again, in same spot) but it's looking nice "again"! -
If you're talking about the simulator WHILE recording, it's slow because it's recording. If you're talking about once you've finished capturing and watch the video and it's low in FPS, then go into the Simulator, then Options, then Advanced, then set the AVI-Framerate for video capturing to 30 fps (NTSC). Now your videos will be in 30 fps instead of 15.

3d Roller Coaster Model
AJClarke0912 replied to Intamin10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Okay do you have like the blueprints or something? I mean, this is SO accurate! You should contact Ole Lange, the creator of NoLimits, to use this corkscrew car for NoLimits 2...it's WAY better than the current trains are... -
Beaver Dam [RCT2]
AJClarke0912 replied to AJClarke0912's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Thanks! I always strive for terrain coasters for some reason...they are just WAY more fun to design and are more interesting to watch in-game. -
Beaver Dam - an RCT1 scenario rip from "Butterfly Dam" Well, people in chat have been wanting to see how I do in RCT2, so I thought I'd post one of my parks. My style is unique: it's a non-CS (UNTIL RECENTLY) style that mixes traditional RCT with realism. I usually use RCT2 as a break from NoLimits, so I'm not serious about the game or take much time with it...it's my device for relaxation. Anyway, I once downloaded the scenario from RCT1 called "Butterfly Dam" from the RCT2 Object List site. I found it lacking something: the actual dam shaping. Of course, since it was from RCT1, the dam was made of a 1-block width set of raised land stretching across the river. It looked very poor. So, I stepped in by adding a slope to it, as well as my first usage of CS...the sloping waterfall. Onto the pictures. Park Overview Thus-Far: From the Entrance Area...(I always make that midway feel for some reason): To the Right of the Entrance (based on the above picture): Keep heading that way and you run into Conquistador (which I tried doing custom supports with 8cars but i had texture glitches): Left side of entrance based on far above picture: This is where Treetop Flyer is located. I plan on adding more rides and such into the area: Go straight from the entrance and across the dam and you'll find Thunder Falcon in the new area of the park: Unique station setup that is Thunder Falcon: Thunder Falcon is basically 300 feet tall (295 to be exact) and takes cues from Expedition GeForce: Thanks for taking the time to read! I plan on constructing my first water park on the other side of the reservoir and on the hills, taking a cue from Holiday World's Splashin' Safari. More flats to come, as well as a few more coasters; one a kiddie and a possible flying coaster. More to come! Overview to sum up progress:

Theme Park Careers

^Not too much, other than using third-party tools that are almost completely math (Purgatorium). Although, Purgatorium will only give you the idea on how a formula translates into track, not all the other things included. So far, few people have used Purgatorium (other than redunzelizer, the creator) for years. It's really really hard. NoLimits straight up through handbuilding isn't realistic though. And, even if you are a master at NoLimits, it doesn't guarantee you're fit for coaster engineering; it just helps you connect dots. -
Hahaha, nah. Halo is a hard game to get into, ESPECIALLY after you started only on Halo 3+. You really enjoy Halo if you started back on Halo CE or Halo 2...because you know more storyline and get the game's concept better. If you haven't played Halo, then Reach won't be all "OMG" to you. But to others...it is.

Redline Park [RCT2]
AJClarke0912 replied to QueerRudie's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Wow, I think dmaxba was right...those uniform trees do seem to match up in good ways, especially the monorail trees. Anyway, the kids section is going really well, and again the colors rock. I would have NEVER tried peach with dark blue, but you did it and it freaking worked! I like your style R.D., this park is going very very well. Can't wait to see how you pull off the Mouse as well; it looks pretty tall. -

Awesome awesome awesome! I like your simply good buildings. The double-dip on the water ride was well done too (I hate the people that make it drop go flat, then drop again...it's unrealistic). Again, I love your color pop, but your trees are so uniform! Kinda strange you get so normal with the trees yet so colorful with the rides. If you did both, it'd be spectacular! Anyway, keep up the good work! -

I love your bright colors...that's one thing I ALWAYS fail to do. The Mega-Lite is nice...especially with the welcoming 8-car train. The looper is pretty sweet too. You probably should have added some varying terrain before you started this though! It didn't have to be extreme, perhaps just a river or a higher shelf of flat land with a slope going to it, or some small hills on the edge (or middle of the park) with flat tops for interest and a more original coaster palette. However, it's really cool what you do have with the flat land! -
Physical changes you would like to make to yourself?

Allergies (I blow my nose 24/7) and ear problems. Tubes in the ear really suck, and I have to try hard to not make it happen for a third time. -

Wow I love your path setup! I need to try something more interesting than the "two-across". -
I got Reach Friday as well...only played it for a few hours but I'm loving it. Halo 3 got stale, if not more stale than Halo 2..."3" had no vibe in it like "2" did...and Reach has that back. I still like Halo 2's maps better in general, but Forge World is pretty nice, though smaller than I expected (I expected a REALLY huge map, which it is, but it's smaller than I thought). Jet-packs (while some think annoying), really add a new level to FPS games that you never see much: brief vertical action. I welcome the jet-packs, even if I'm not the one using them. I also like the Elite-dodging class. Haven't done any Campaign yet, but I heard it's epic. Overall, this is much better than Halo 3. I'm wanting to try Firefight too when I get the chance.

3d Roller Coaster Model
AJClarke0912 replied to Intamin10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Wow! That looks like real life! I wish NoLimits looked like this! Seriously, this is really amazing. I hope you make a full 6-7 car Arrow train...that'd make me really giddy! -

A little pumpy with banking issues and hill construction flaws, but the layout was nice and the speed was sustained. Decent ride...you seem to be the "average" NoLimits user. I like handbuilt rides, they are usually more original, despite their flaws. -
Just got back from our hosted invitational. I laughed, like always. This year was pretty fun because the football field (being next to the elementary school) was an awesome combo. Miley Cyrus karaoke machines, plasma TV, stereo for crazy club music, mushy chairs...it was THE best kindergarten classroom EVER! I'm so glad I didn't have to show bands (or drumlines) around, despite being section leader! Yus!

^Nice! I really (really) need money on Forza...I have like 400 credits lol. I spend too much money on A-class cars that don't perform that amazing and use them in Tag (virus)...I like collecting things!

^Just because it's hard doesn't mean you can't get smooth transitions. It's far easier (and goes beyond) handbuilding in terms of smoothness anyway, not just because of the heartline but because there are tons of vertices which means more control and less estimation. Jarmor, it takes a bit to learn. The learning curve is a little bit more steep that NoLimits handbuilding, but it's far shorter to be decent with it. Watch online tutorials for help (made by the creator on Newton2) and post your projects and tests in NoLimits-heavy forums like NoLimits-Exchange to get good feedback and criticism (or just TPR, whatever you feel). It's all about shaping, transitions, control, and learning to use the types of transitions and lead-ins/lead-outs. It's just different...you adjust to it, then get better, then make realistic rides. In two days.

The "Preview" Thread
AJClarke0912 replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^^Not too bad! Especially for playing with the demo. The loop is a bit tight though, but it works I suppose. It looks like you know the basics though! -
Try a sextic transition with 4G's on either side and 1G, 0.5G, or 0G in the middle. If you want more of a hopping-hill-and-twist, that's where you go -0.5G or -1G. Playing with sextics can really make some good elements on your rides. So yeah, like I said, try a sextic with 4G's on either side and start decreasing the middle and test the results. That's how I did it.
