New coaster from CoasterDynamix
AJClarke0912 replied to DLDude's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
You're thinking of the Comet coaster, which is HO scale. This ride is O scale and has GCI trains on it, and I think is made of real wood. Trust me, it's new. DLDude is actually an employee of CoasterDynamix, so he obviously knows its new. -

I use GIMP. It's almost identical to Photoshop, but it's completely free. And yes, I kind of forgot to put text in them...the "posters" were going to have a little something said to create more anticipation but I'll find that out later I suppose. Thanks for all the comments guys! -
What Would You Improve About rcdb.com?
AJClarke0912 replied to bezzzzzer's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yeah, the "tabs" of a coaster should be Facts, Pictures, Videos. That'd be a VERY nice feature. -

^Nah, I thought about that but then I thought that'd be too copy-cat like. Yes, the 3Ds will be basic like stations and a few tunnels and cool buildings. All generic and airy themed, lots of glass panels. Of course, this is all what I HOPE to do, lol. Won't be easy. -

^^It sure does...I'm really glad I did the supports myself. I feel like I accomplished something. ^Yes, the parts that aren't gradated (the small TTD-esque bits) are supposed to be striped. That gives a neat flicker effect. I could have made them half the size, but that looked silly despite the awesome experience the small segments gave. So, here's the progress: Track: 85% (if you catch my drift) Supports: 90% (clean up on joints) Theming: 10% (now I need 3D's and such) Video: 0% (erm...this is a no-brainer) -

Big progress on the supports. I've been moving slowly but surely. I also have an interesting color scheme set up where TTD-esque stripes of color occur on major features of the ride. Below are some support pictures as well as some graphics. I am planning on cleaning up some supports that have wonky joints and thickening some of them as well. These will be minor changes and probably won't be posted. After that, theming will then be planned, which I'm still unsure of how to tackle. Thanks for those watching this! -

Water ride! -
I trialed Ubuntu 10 (Karmic Koala?) earlier this year on Parallels and LOVED it. I'm thinking of getting Virtual Box for the Mac and getting Ubuntu back on there permanently. You just can't be wobbly windows that burn with fire when they close and the Beryll Cube...just way too epic. It's like Windows with Mac features inside (like Ubuntu's versions of Exposé and Spaces) that combine the best of two worlds. Seriously awesome operating system.

It is...I've talked to him in chat. -
^Oh, okay...that's how it should be. And it's not Newton's fault, it's the coaster car's fault and the inevitability of rotational forces. For example, the outside seat (due to B&M's design) may experience up to ±1 lateral G on a perfectly heartlined wing-over. Real rides are like this as well. The only coaster that would practically eliminate rotational geometry would be Arrow's pipeline coaster, where the center of the track IS the heartline. If only the concept became more fully developed. Anyway, I could elaborate, but I think we get the point. No track with cars above it or below it can be shaped to get rid of rotational G's. Only pipeline coasters that sit IN the track.
-
^If you're building flat-spins, there will be some lateral G's especially working inverted coasters. Even Newton2 can't avoid it. It's the nature of the design, and even Batman: The Ride has moments touching 1 full lateral G, because the wing-overs are so tight. Basically, I really need to see or ride the element myself to see what's up. Otherwise, I can't give much advice.

The Google Street View thread!

Haha, me and RollingRunner looked at this in Google Earth last night when we were chatting...quite the accurate 3D rendering of Kingda Ka I must say... -
Alright, let's see what we have here... First off, the apex on the lift is WAY tight. I can see that you are using huge track segments or are designing the ride just plain wrong for that section. I think it's the first one that I mentioned above, as the hill after the 90-degree turn looks very wonky-banked for most of the hill. The coaster wreaks in huge segments...I can just see every vertex in your track without seeing Editor images... Just some tips. You seem to have a nice layout going, I just predict heavy pumping.

^Hehe, you need to upgrade to Forza 3. Loads better, more cars, more tracks (and a LOT of tracks from FM2, so you're not missing anything), more cars, storefronts, etc etc.

Hello fellow TPR'ers! AJClarke0912 here. I decided that I'm going to carry out the Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter in the Preview thread. It's name: Fighter-Blitz, a generic themed ride. Now, as of now you're probably saying "yeah yeah, another standard Euro-Fighter with a generic theme". But this one will stand-out, not in the simulator as much, but upon hitting YouTube. I plan on some serious camera-work for this ride, something secret and never done before (that's all I'm saying until release for originality concerns...unless you break my shell in TPR Chat) . The ravetastic music that I will bring in the video will sync to the video in drastic ways, becoming a key role of the video. The audio should NOT be missed for the video. Now, back to present times, I present you the ongoing progress of Fighter-Blitz, or Project Euro-Fighter V. *NOTE* - some pictures depict lack of color and terraforming. The last picture shows that this has happened. Yeah. The colors for this coaster are navy track with maroon supports. The top of the lift, as you may have noticed, is inverted. The supports will be as well, gradient style. I'm also debating TTD-style, LSD-inducing split color track throughout the entire ride, but I'm afraid that the supports and track won't match as double maroons, unless I take the painful step in coloring each support under a maroon track navy and visa versa. A cool effect that may be considered or added to specific elements Dominator style mixed with TTD. The double color gradient, while quite tough, can actually happen. I'm quite proud of it as it took lots of work. I had no idea how to tackle the problem without going too purply but it's all good now. 3D station and such are probably going to be necessary to complete the experience. It's going to modern and funky, but generic. That's all I have to say about that now. Anyway, this coaster may look generic but I ensure you that this is a ride you'll want to keep your eyes on. Slow updates? Probably. Just don't lose this topic. - AJClarke0912 -

Sorry for the double post but the track is now done. If I actually go further with this track I will put it in a separate thread. Enjoy! It's really twisted now and I love it. It will follow the ground more closely after quick terraforming. I think I will actually stick with this ride...I really love it. -

"Euro-Fighter V" I think I'm officially in love with this track. It's so fun to watch and ride. The first drop hooked me and the bunny hops-to-downward helix make me want to hug the track. It's pretty awesome. Oh, and sorry for the excessive photos lol. I always take way too many photos for my own good. -
