Official RCT3 Help Thread
AJClarke0912 replied to mcjaco's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Hey there! After seeing many RCT3 projects, I've really wanted to re-download it. However, I am concerned on how my computer will react to that. Is this exceptional, with NoLimits and RCT2 also being on my computer? I know nothing about computer stuff like that. I'm wondering it it will run RCT3, for the most part, smoothly. Thanks for any help! -

^Trying out Newton2? It appears so in the track... Anyway, if so, it's a great tool. -
Meh, I never had the time to learn drum set before marching band. Now, I've kind of lost interest, and gained way more interest in what's in my signature. In fact, I never play multiple drums. I've never had tenors or drum set or complicated timpani parts for concert band. I've always been more attached to the more interesting rhythms over the multiple drum thing. But that's just me. Well, we don't have signatures so here it is:

Sorry to get back late! I've had a bunch of school. If you could find a bigger Manta photo, I'd be happy. Also, that Patriot one is pretty tempting, but it's a little on the small side. The best resolution ones for me to scale to 5 x 7in are 800 x 600 pixels or above, because the quality isn't lost when scaling. ***Nevermind, I already got another Manta photo.

I've done that type of element on a bunch of my NoLimits coasters, completed or uncompleted. Cool to see it in RCT3! Looks nice. -

That was very interesting! It had some pumps, but it was still very cool! -1.7G's (front car) was an extreme delight! I also liked the back spires. However, on the spike after the loop needs a deceleration of 0G. You can actually set lifts and transports to 0G, just not brake segments WITH transports. -
Hey themeparkman25, can you find that photo in a larger resolution? 480 x 640 resolution is only 1 in x 1.333 inches.

Okay, deleted the old post for this replacement post... Alright, I've narrowed my stock photos (for ME to edit or not edit) to one from SheiKra (or Kumba, I'm deciding), T Express, Expedition GeForce, and Manta. Don't choose one of those rides. If you can quickly pull off an amazing Kumba/SheiKra one though, that's fine! ALSO: Make landscape photos from now on. The only portrait slot was taken by the Manta photo by themeparkman25.

^^Well......... I also found a picture of my favorite on my favorite part! But that other picture also looks pretty! I'm torn between yours and this one! http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/manta/sw847a.jpg ...decisions... EDIT: Well, that one does have a flower...I might want yours plus somebody elses! EDIT-EDIT: You know, that should be my new avatar on here!

Hey that's pretty cool! Looking for more interesting coasters though...instead of a boomerang... Could you do that to a good shot Tennessee Tornado or another Arrow? That'd be great! Otherwise, this is a worthy entry...

Bump! To keep the topic going, be sure to post if you are going to try this out! Also, at the end of the contest and once your picture is framed and hung, I'll be sure to post a picture of it hanging on my wall with my new wall color, my new CoasterDynamix Comet, and some other coaster stuff for fun-zies! I know, not that great of a prize, but hey, what else can I award (besides advertising on the world's most unpopular YouTube channel, mine!)?

Hey TPR! I noticed that some people here are good at editing photos, and since I'm currently re-doing my room (it is blue now, instead of white) and I'm making it more personal to me with coaster photos/frames, I thought that you guys could help. So, I after purchasing this frame (among others for other photos), I thought that I'd do a bunch GIMP-edited coaster photos for this little compound frame. Then, I thought, "well, I could do four pictures and let the coaster community do a fifth one!". That's where you come in! The photo must be 5"x7", and can be a portrait or a landscape of any coaster. Remember that this isn't a huge canvas so don't crowd the image with too many things or layers/effects. I want no text, unless it's the coaster name off in the corner (which can be an edited logo, as long as it's small). I'm also wanting only one photo (aka, not 3 photos in a single compilation picture), because that would look cluttered and defeats the purpose of having the 5-photo frame. Just keep it rather simplistic, with rather few effects. I'm not sure when I want the entries due, but I'm assuming by the end of the week I'll need to wrap it up. Below is a picture of the frame: ... Also, be sure to answer the poll. I'm just curious as to what people are using! I guess that's about it! Just remember some of the guidelines, but other then that just do whatever you want! I will pick only one winner, of course, and will purely be on what I think I want on my wall. If you win, well, your prize is knowing that your photo is on somebody's wall somewhere else in the nation (or world)! Stay fresh, - AJClarke0912

^Well, I actually like it the other way around, but that's because in NoLimits and being at the Newton 2 stage, I know what is wrong and needs to be corrected, it's just that I lack the skills to correct it! However, RCT is different I guess, because building stuff is a snap (you just have to know what you are doing). NoLimits, well, you have to have skill and a tad of luck to be honest. But I do support your point a little, but work on your positive feedback some. Even if it makes people not as good, it just boosts their morality. -
Hello TPR! I don't think that I've posted a coaster here, but there's always room for firsts! Anyway, let's get to business... Thunder Falcon Okay, so I was doing some digging on my computer's hard drive and I found a surviving NoLimits file. I clicked to see what it was and it was one of my old CoasterSims projects using AHG, Thunder Falcon. I looked at it's design and I really wanted more from it, since it's layout screams unique and my Newton skills have sharpened recently. Then, I got to work... Preserving most of the original design, the revival of Thunder Falcon very true to it's old self. However, with the aid of Newton 2, this coaster is smoother and more exciting. Let's get the jist of what's going on here, shall we? Trackwork - 100% Supports - 90% (I'm thinking of what to do next) Theming - 5% (I got a name...! ) Now, here are some pictures of it unsupported. This gives you overall layout perspectives and such. http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconteaser.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/Capture.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100124202925003.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100124202814001.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100124202857002.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100124202938004.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100124202947005.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100124203021006.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100124203048008.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100124203143009.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/Capture002.jpg Yeah, I bet your finger is numb now. But it only gets worse, unfortunately... Station drawings for Locrian are below. They are to give him an idea of what I'm thinking. There are two ideas: one is to follow a theme similar to Millenium Force (just modern) and the other looks like a lodge. These are just quick sketches and are no way realistically-intended. They just give the idea... http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/Photo1.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/Photo2.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/Photo3.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/Photo4.jpg Just one supports picture here...you don't really need to see them all... http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc333/AJClarke0912/Thunder%20Falcon%20revival/ThunderFalconre-dux-100127211632002.jpg ____________ Now it's your turn to vote on colors! In the future, this won't happen. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to click away, and be sure to vote! The stations are up to Locrian to decide because he is making it, so no voting on that unfortunately...

^Yeah, I kind-of figured they were too big... The Turbo Dive™ doesn't have any launches, it's just massive and has an ejector hill on the bottom. I'm kind-of laid back on this ride in terms of how I'm building it, so I will take criticism but nit-picky stuff I just don't care for. I'm about the fun in NoLimits, and with a schedule like mine, I ain't got the time... lol Kentucky rap... ***Topic created.*** -

Here is a little something...I'm debating whether to put it on TPR or not, as a thread is already on 2 sites (but the people at NLBench haven't been posting crap recently because of the launch of NL-Exchange). However, I'll show a couple photos and if anybody is interested I'll post here. I may get you guys to vote on colors since the people in Spain (it's on a Spanish forum) are having a hard time understanding my terrible Spanish or my regular English. Anyway, I'm rambling as always. Here is the stuff... _ This B&M has a unique element called the Turbo Dive™, which is a 372 ft tall dive (third drop in pics). STATS: - Height Differential: 490 ft (~150m) - Biggest Drop: 372 ft (113.5m) - Top Speed: 113 mph (182 kph) - Length of Tunnel: over 1,000 ft long (305m) **(This ride has a long tunnel back to the station). Let me know if this ride is worth posting or if you guys are interested too. I know the Spaniards are, because one of them wants to make a 3D station for me and I'm holding a vote for the colors of the ride and type of station. More photos HERE. -
The iPad - Apple's Take On The Tablet Computer

I think that it just looks like a giant iPhone, but it does have some nice extra features. However, these extra features really aren't made up by it's size, as an iPhone, for practically the same thing. Neat gadget though. -
Would have been a little better if the lift after the loop had a deceleration of 0g's. The coaster actually slowed down faster than normal on that lift from your 0.1g deceleration, which, combined with gravity, acts almost like a brake. Other than that, stellar! I really enjoyed the design. The back spike (station end) would be a cool experience to hang slightly on your lap bar. Very nice recycled idea.
