Hard Rock / Freestyle Music Park Discussion Thread
gisco replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm a little surprised that one of the major chains doesn't put in a bid for the park. Move the coasters and other rides to their other parks. Level the land and sell it to a developer. -
I love these reports Soren. The places you go are beautiful. How many days do you usually lay over before you have to fly back?

^ I know what you mean. I was in the drive thru at Starbucks the other morning. The car in front of me was at the window for over 10 minutes. I counted a least a dozen drinks. If your going to order for the whole damn office, go inside.

It's kind of sad that it's over. This thread has really made me want to visit the area. -

I'll be honest, 13/20. It would have been a lot worse had I not done TPR trips. -

Nice collection of Disney memorabilia. Stuff that you don't see every day. -
The iPad - Apple's Take On The Tablet Computer
gisco replied to Wes's topic in Random, Random, Random
I agree, there is nothing ground breaking here but I don't want to read my news or browse the web on a 3" screen or sitting at my desk. I would also use it as a photo album for family and friends. Yeah I could use a laptop but this would be less bulky especially when I read at night in bed. I think this is aimed at Kindle users and not meant to replace the IPod/Iphone or a laptop just yet. -

I think people are missing the point of the IPad. It is the home version of the ITouch. I can see myself buying one this Summer. My primary use would be to read. I would do away with the newspaper and subscribe to it online. I wouldn't get the 3G version, just use the WiFi. -

California Advice
gisco replied to coasterfreak101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My choice for Disney would be the Grand Californian. Rooms are small but it is right there. Also by staying at a Disney hotel you will get early entry into Disneyland. They only open a small section of the park but it is a good way to knock off some rides and be in the park when the rest opens. -

A Credit that may just not be worth it..

I wouldn't go out of my way to ride either one of those but if I was there, why not? I have ridden a few sketchy coasters in China. Like a shuttle loop that falls onto its up stop wheels in the loop of a few others where they thread the lap belt through the OTSR. I presume to keep them from opening mid ride. Falling 4 feet to the ground looks like no big deal. -
I couldn't care less about any of them. I don't think I have ever seen a complete show of any of them. I never stay up past 11. I'm old, I get up at 5:00 A.M. and need my sleep.

It's nice to see pictures of the park in different seasons. One of these days I will get to the park except it will be in the Summer. I hate the cold! -
An Upgraded TPR Forum Coming Soon!
gisco replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think what makes the calendar look big is that there is the announcment box above it now. The text in the announcements is a little small. I think if that text was a little bigger and once the calendar information is filled in, the calendar is not going to stick out like it does now. -
Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
gisco replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just wonder who is going to go. I have been to Florida 1/2 dozen times and have never been out of Orlando. Just to much to do on a vacation then burn a day going there. -
Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) Discussion Thread
gisco replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's a nice "little" park. The expansion should help. There is just not enough to do there. They need to keep expanding or Ocen Park will keep drawing the people away. -
What's the newest coaster book?
gisco replied to thrillgeek's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The problem with roller coaster books is like Robb said, they are outdated by the time they are printed. The only think they are good for is a conversation piece on your coffee table. -
Fuji-Q Highland Haunted Hospital
gisco replied to Retro_Gaga's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I went to the park in 2005 a few from our group did the walk through. It takes about 45 min with the preshow. They said it was good but not as spectacular as it is made out to be. I think the people who did the Haunted Hospital did not make it on all the coasters. If you Google it you can find a review one of the guys did on another site. If I had to go back to Fuji Q I wouldn't wait more then a few minutes for it. -

I think there are no people at Wild Adventure because the Zombie's ate them! Nice pics of DC too. I will be there in March. Hopefully it will be a little warmer by then.
