Game: When was the last time you...

July, I think, due to poor planning ever since...just picked up some free game coupons for my place, though! When was the last time you ate at a food truck? -
Best Gravity Group Woodie
cal1br3tto replied to djboss302's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh, yeah, Switchback! Current rankings: 1. Voyage. I still love Voyage, and I last rode her in 2016. 2. Boardwalk Bullet. Apparently my most recent laps were some of my better ones; it's a hit or miss ride. 3. Switchback. Not one of the best coasters evar, but it's refreshingly innovative, and fantastic for what it is. 4. Wooden Warrior. Put me in the category of thinking "maybe a bit overrated, but definitely holds its own." 5. Ravine Flyer II. I don't really get it, but probably someday I will. 6. Hades 360. Hades 360 is bad. -
Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?
cal1br3tto replied to kweiss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Twisted Colossus and Storm Chaser. There. Predicament solved. Crisis averted. 3. Outlaw Run 4. Iron Rattler 5. New Texas Giant 6. Joker 7. Goliath Joker is my latest one. Pros: it has a fantastic layout. Disorienting every time, not just the first time or two. Typically-great RMC inversions, hangtime and airtime. It reminds me of iRat and NTAG the most, with hints of Goliath. Why it's so low for me: despite its copious pluses, it distinctly felt "weaker" for an RMC. Not extreme; not relentless. High fun factor and rerideability, though! I don't think it's worlds better than Medusa (SFDK), but I only marathoned one of those two, and it wasn't the one with walk-on waits. I'll eagerly repeat what others say about the RMC's they feel are weakest: Joker is still a much better, more enjoyable and higher-quality ride than most other coasters! Side note: on the contrary, I do not feel that way about Goliath--plenty of classic and traditional woodies I'd prefer to ride. -

Well, that's disappointing! Rotors were already in short supply as it was. -
Tracking coasters ridden
cal1br3tto replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Same. For me it's Excel for everything I count as a credit, and anything else I feel like tracking at any given time. I use CoasterCounter solely for the coasters I'm still interested in ranking, to give me an easy way to do so. Unfortunately, while Coaster-Count is the most interesting and extensive counting site at the moment, I've once again become too frustrated with its oddities to keep up with it anymore. Personal list ftw! -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
cal1br3tto replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for mentioning this, but it's completely false now. Currently, there is one wooden carousel in Portland, seasonally operating at Oaks Amusement Park. The "City of Carousels" moniker refers to a time circa 1980s-early 1990s when Portland boasted five operating wooden carousels. The Perron family of collectors operated three of them, and the fifth was the Jantzen Beach carousel (closed and missing from 2012-2017, recently rediscovered, and yet to be rehomed). Things are looking up for carousels in the state, though. Several of note are operating or planned, to eventually comprise the Oregon Trail of Carousels! -
Tracking coasters ridden

My go-to when apps are lacking or Internet is unavailable is to record my coasters from each day in Notes. Possibly with other simple tidbits like a running total. I'm pretty sure the old CoasterCounter app is either useless or unavailable now, so that'd be a dead-end... -

^I'm not sure how the process works for calculating wait times or who's in charge of it, but one thing I noticed about a Six Flags app is that they're updated infrequently enough to be somewhat questionable unless it's shortly after an update. The updates were at odd times, about once an hour. -
It's me, grasping a pole, with my legs wrapped around some thick wood, and a large organ behind me. Previous: me with a darling band organ in a private collection.

Yeah...once was about equivalent to regular unloading, but my one legit time was on Firechaser Express! Have you ever had to walk down a lift hill?
-
Yes! Have you ever ridden a wild mouse built before 1980?
-
Nope. Only Fascination. I may or may not play something if I end up with a game credit as a perk/promotion. Are you a fan of using emoji?
-
It's more, like, how could I NOT go?! (Amirite?) Have you ever been too scared to do a haunt event or attraction?

[Re: PNE Playland] Didn't look or feel crowded at all. However, there were steady ~30 minute queues for Coaster all night; I only remember maybe one or two waits that were even a bit shorter. -
Absolutely! Also my favorite Accelerator by far (not that there isn't worthy competition, particularly in Storm Runner), and a close second favorite launcher to Dodonpa. Do you have any unpopular critical opinions of a well-loved coaster company (such as RMC)?

What is your next park?

Update! My next park will now be Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. I'm flying down last-minute to "visit family." I am still going to Playland!
