  1. A simple tip I've seen online: go for mixed drinks with diet soda, not with fruit juice. Juice sounds "better for you," but has more calories than diet drinks. On-topic: it's time for me to start exercising again. I'm starting with the standard minimum of 15 minutes a day. I'm also thinking about easy ways of avoiding empty calories--I think some meal planning will help.
  2. I totally get what you're saying in theory, but I actually just saw some discussion about this here, and it sounds like that wouldn't work in reality:
  3. ^And so we meet again. (Maybe. Actually, probably not.) But for real, it's nice to see those Hurricane/Windstorms enjoying so many new lives. They're a bit more thrilling than most portable coasters.
  4. A quesadilla plate, some nachos, and carne asada tacos.
  5. ^Awesome, and glad I asked! I was thinking "saw" or something but that's even better.
  6. ^I'm still so disappointed by that.
  7. I enjoyed the details in your trip report. Helpful, interesting and fun! I'm now mildly curious--in that photo op picture frame (second pic), it looks like you can flip "rode" to something else if you didn't ride? What would the other word be? Neat little detail if I'm seeing that right.
  8. Who knew boysenberry was such a versatile ingredient? I want one of everything, but especially cheesecake.
  9. I still hope the teasers are a strong hint as to the actual theming--both the hawk and the colors. This is shaping up to be truly exciting!
  10. Time Traveler's trains look fantastic, and not just because they're some of the better-themed ones out there. I love the novelty of spinning trains traveling (no pun intended?) through a loop. I'm also looking forward to seeing how the vegetation around the ride grows in. Oh, and dat first drop.
  11. Great video. Nice to see it confirmed/reiterated that every ride will be unique. Maybe it was explained before, but the controlled spinning aspect made me wonder if the experience would literally be the same each ride. Incidentally, I'm now a lot more excited about Cobra's Curse after reading comparisons here--I'd kinda put that one on the back burner priority-wise. The same was semi-true for Time Traveler, but now I'm disappointed I don't know when I'll get to SDC next. Hopefully someday it will be unlimited on Trailblazer. True this.
  12. ^Ha, yeah, I wanted to respond to the post above mine when I first saw it, but it wasn't until today that something re-reminded me to bump the thread. Would be cool if that does end up at Adventuredome.
  13. ^I didn't even realize that might not be a thing. I guess the announcement (or however we found out about it) was pretty unofficial/low-key, though. I'd also like to hear an updated status. Wow, doing some digging, to my surprise the coaster was 'discovered' over a year ago, and there was indeed no official announcement. Do we think it was cancelled, or is it just taking its sweet time to appear?
  14. Well, it was more a willful act of stubbornness than one of forgetfulness, but anyway, that would be earlier this month with the consequences playing out last Monday. Long story, hence not sharing! When was the last time you gave something up for health reasons?
  15. After seeing the Screamscape headline, I was relieved to see it wasn't a coaster or another ride I care a lot about, in case it leads to stupid changes. (And I do feel awful for people who hurt themselves. I just know that, especially in this day and age where things are designed and tested to be overwhelmingly safe, a ride-related accident rarely justifies "punishing" a park or innocent riders with unnecessary changes.)
  16. Man, Cedar Point kills it with the park photography. It's not just the inherent sexiness of Steel Vengeance--I saw an official CP pic of TTD the other day on TPR that made me realize I should poke around the Cedar Point website more.
  17. I'm slightly jealous of y'alls nostalgia, since I used to be obsessed with dinosaurs.
  18. Apart from not expiring (and, now, different benefits), I guess I just think of the membership as a season pass split into twelve monthly payments. I don't care that I don't visit every month or that I'm making payments during months when a given park is closed. I just have a goal of making the membership pay for itself, like I would with a season pass.
  19. Two four-piece sets of Fiestaware dishes in white Fiestaware buffet plates in turquoise and lemongrass $36.28
  20. Looks like some beautiful slides for me to never go on. I think it's awesome that drop capsule slides exist, but I am very sure they are not for me.
  21. ^^You could say the same for letting that money sit in an interest-earning account, too, though. Even though interest rates are typically low, I find that can be a good minor incentive to find ways to defer purchases or to split up payments in a way that doesn't cost me more (or where the extra cost is painless or justifiable).
  22. Nice to see some good news after hearing about the extended delay. Still love how twisted these things are!
