  1. THANK YOU. Your opinion is correct. Also, if the pic from last page is the Pony Trek model they're getting...man, that's adorable. Very "classic children's toy."
  2. I keep getting distracted by Balder, but Valkyria-under-construction is really appealing to look at.
  3. For real for real. That's a piece of art right there.
  4. All right, guys, tickets are now on sale! And yup, I snagged mine...whew. The ordering process was a tad awkward 'cuz they just modified the one they use for birthday parties, but it's legit.
  5. I was gonna say something, but didn't bother 'cuz it doesn't bother me--the W is totally an upside-down M. Design choice or...?
  6. That sign looks great installed. The thing to the right looks good too.
  7. Gotta love all the random Texas-shaped things in Texas.
  8. Wow, talk about something fun to see on the road. I see carny rides occasionally, and you sometimes hear about someone spotting coaster track or a manufacturer's truck, but this is a pretty unusual sighting, I'd say. Looks great!
  9. If I get into the event, I'll probably take an Amtrak bus to Portland and then a taxi or rideshare-thingy to the park. I've never, after much research, found a convenient public transit route for any day or time. Unfortunately, I never saw a ticket link for the event yesterday. Unless they just happen to be a day late for some reason, I may have to think of a plan B (possibly not opening day?). I'll definitely buy a ticket if I'm able to.
  10. Never heard of the funhouse--I regret not experiencing it when I visited Ocean City. As much as you hear about current funhouses being a shell of what the attraction used to be, sometimes you'll still come across a newer one with decent 'gags' (as opposed to being, say, a glorified mirror maze with a run-of-the-mill slide or whatever). I know it's low on the list for most enthusiasts, but I'd definitely like to get back to OCMD. I'm interested to see how Trimper's evolves.
  11. ^Aw, man. I've heard many (and maybe only?) bad things about this kind of ride, but by looks alone it's always intrigued me. And the fact that its inversions are called saxophones.
  12. Yeah, so far I'm not a fan of B&M vests (and I know we've gotta expect them now). But I do like that logo!
  13. A crucial takeaway from this article about the naming contest:
  14. I am one hundred percent in for the event. That's a killer opportunity, and it beats waiting for who-knows-how-long for who-knows-how-few rides on opening day (yes, I've been tempted all along to go on opening day, because why the heck not?). Interesting, and totally understandable, price changes. Much more in line with most amusement parks now--I hope they don't get too many complaints (they will). Looks like I'll have to spring for the premier wristband every time as long as it's a "serious" visit for me--then again, last time I was there, I just rode the carousel.
  15. No. I always want to, and work out ridiculous hypothetical ways to get to a rink, but I haven't gone ice skating since middle school. I've even gotten as close as standing right at a rink without bothering to lace up. Have you gone roller skating in recent memory?
  16. Flounder's Flying Fish Coaster
  17. ^^Somehow I always forget when The Season is...and I was in Girl Scouts. Thanks for bringing the necessary cookie budgeting to my attention.
  18. I enjoyed this, and appreciate the time and effort put into it. It got me reflecting on coasters new and old.
