Paramount Parks after Cedar Fair Acquisition
Gnome replied to Dr.Zaius's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think the paramount names will be dropped as the Cedar Fair site currently has them listed as Paramount W/e, although thats not to say it won't change, but I find it highly unlikely. -
and less splash to, which isn't bad, imo, because you got to wet on Perilous plunge anyways. As for construction on Xcelerator, I find it very odd that they didn't do it during the off season, instead of peak season. But w/e floats thier boat, I guess.

and if you got rid of those OTSR, then you could get rid of the trim brakes as well.

Best Theme Parks in the UK?
Gnome replied to JulieWent's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd go to Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Flamingo land. Black POol might be of interest as well, although I personally would not go out of my way to go thier unless of course I was doing a trip specifically meant for themeparks. -
Dragon Wagon: Is it a credit?
Gnome replied to lapseofreason's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Let me just ask you this.... Why? I personally would rather see my coaster count full of coasters that I actually enjoyed being on and that actually gave me an experience that I can refer to when Im talking about it with other people. I mean honestly, you can say you have been on 100 coasters, but if 80 of them are dragon wagon's, whats the point? Thats 80 coasters that you say you've been on but you can't really talk about it because its just wasn't that great of an experience. I mean you wouldn't go up to some one and say... "Yea, the dragon wagon is a really swell ride. I just had a blast on it. The air time, and the forces! My god, I was just smiling my little face off. Then I went on this one dragon wagon in Tennesee, ooh and that one just really made my day. Two Words: Ejector Air! Man it was totally awsome, you gotta get to Tennessee to ride that one!" But it really just comes down to if you would count it or not. I personally wouldn't just to keep the integrity of my coaster count in tact, but you may feel differently, so maybe it doesn't matter to you, like it would matter to me. -
What would rides be like on the moon?
Gnome replied to Thrillrider15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Haven't you seen Futurama? Well, there'd be Whaler's on the moon! Whaler's on the moon! And other things. -
Hi, I'm planning a trip to PGA and I was wondering if PGA is giving out any coupons, if so where can I get them from, and how much will the tickets be with the coupon. Thanks for the help.

Injury at Adventureland (IA)
Gnome replied to steel's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's only been 4 deaths this year, not much. 4 deaths? Not much? There shouldn't even be 1 death. -

I too, love air time. I used to hate free fall towers simply because I couldn't stand the butter flie feelings (yet I'd still go on, regardless) but now I just love the crap out of it. Especially sustained air like what you'll get ToT (depending on the sequence) or Xcelerator. Good stuff.

Storm Runner Rollbacks?
Gnome replied to yankees15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
from what I hear about Xcelerator, they say it really only roll backs when they first start it in the morning for testing. I imagine that Storm Runner is the same way in that in morning during testing period, it might roll back occassionally, but I'm not quite sure if it roll backs with actual people on it. -

Zonga or Thriller (as called in Europe)
Gnome replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
get rid of those OTSR, and half the problems of the ride goes away. Having a company redo all the mechanics of the rides gets rid of the rest, leaving only minor new problems to be dealt with. -
^an anxiety attack is not good PR, imo. Thats why they replaced the boats.
-
yea, these ride accidents that result from some ones poor health are getting a little annoying.

Top 3 Six Flags Parks (Your opinion)
Gnome replied to weatherkid17's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd say.... SFGAdv SFMM SFOG -
why doesn't he sell bugs and daffy toys instead? He's selling the company out.
-
If he had it registered, he'd probably have no hope of it being used so its not like it would matter anyways.

Santa Clarita fights to keep SFMM open!
Gnome replied to DonkeyBreath's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
More people with jobs means more city for the money. It all revolves around the money. Anyways, I'm not surprised to see that Cedar Fair is not interested in Six Flags Magic Mountain, and I'm glad to see they're staying away from the temptation. The last thing we want is CF to get in the same hell hole SF got itself into. Maybe Anhieser busch will see some profit in it for them if they bought the park. They could rip out some of the rides in put in some nice animally attractions. There's plenty of rides at the park that people won't miss to terribly much. And animals give families something to do. -

Paramount Parks - Ordered from Best to Worst
Gnome replied to pkd804's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They made it good the first couple of years, but I think they've started doing the opposite. I still like it, just not as much as I used to.
