B&M, Vekoma, Arrow Restraints
Gnome replied to LiVeToThRiLl90's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Keep your body erect (tee hee) and hold on tight and you'll be fine. You aren't dead yet, are you? -
As a whole, I think it is better themed, but each seperate ride entry has better theming at MK. Although the rides themselves are better at Disneyland. And that's a fact you can't count on.

Do we need to have OHR on Coasters
Gnome replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think that regulation really exists. Montezooma's has had thier restraints untounched. (Allthough it does have seatbelts, but ride doesn't, nowadays?) -
Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread
Gnome replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the element of surprise is a lot better then a 5D room and no surprise, imo. -
Stitch wasn't tone down, it was completely altered from being scary to be fun for a younger audience, although your point still stands. Anyways, even if this park was built, I'd doubt it would be any good anyways, would have had the same problems of DCA as it would have been to educational, and not enough disney-esque theming.

ITs not the way to go because of all the problems that come with it. TTD, as said by Kinzel, was one of the worst ideas ever. As cool as it is to the GP, its done nothing cause problems for the parks. Now thats just going 120 mph. then you have Kingda Ka, which is also plauged with problems and that only goes 8 mph faster. Now you want to take something that could go well over 80 mph faster then Kingda Ka or TTD? the problems would even be more endless. Maybe in the future as technology continues to improve, or maybe never as you see everything requires electricity and a launch that large would generate a lot of electricity, so that would also add to costs in just running the ride regularily, and then you have your maintance costs which would also be very substantial. It would definately be more cost effective for them if they built a more standard ride and made it the best they possibly could as oppose to the record breaker.

EL TORO vs. THE VOYAGE
Gnome replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, based off of the bend in the track, and movements, one can imagine how that might feel. For example based off of looks, El Toro's hills are EXTREMELY parabolic, where as voyage's is not so much. So by examing this, I know that El Toro's hills are a little more consistant, as far as air time is concerned, through the entire hill where as with Voyages hills you might just get it in the middle of the hill, or the front, or the back, so its not quite as consistant or powerfull as El Toros. But Voyage has a lot more moments of air time as well as lats, and a longer ride. So assuming you've been on rides similar to both, you can take that into consideration and form your opinion. But what it really comes down to is that you have no idea how you would like it until you've been on it. So while you think you may like one ride better, you really can't decide until you've actually been on both. Because it may turn out that The Voyage is a little to much for you, or that El Toro's air time is more of your style then by the looks of them So like you've pointed out you really can't make a decision until you've been on both. But I can see why people think they would have made a decision based on looks and comperason to similar style rides. -
Another silly flat ride fear...
Gnome replied to Movieguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Knotts never had an enterprise as far as I can remember, if they did it was a very, very long time ago. I don't believe SFMM ever had one as well. And if they did remove the one at PGA, then I guess the next closest one would be at Silverwood in Idaho. -

PKD Flight of Fear REOPENS
Gnome replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I believe you are wrong there. Since the track has already been fabricated, thier is no need for any extra money to be spent in doing such. Fabrication of track and mechanics is where the main bulk of the price tag comes. Where it would be expensive to still relocate it, it wouldn't be as expensive. -
Well, even though GCI made Kentucky Rumbler, I think that should also be on the list if you have the chance.

How do You Judge a Park as Best Theme Park?
Gnome replied to Adriel's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best theme park would have to be the theme park that I had the most fun at. To me, IOA is the best theme park out there along with USF. Lines are managed efficiently, theming is great, employees are some of the nicest I've ever met, thier fast food is good enough, thier actual restaurants have great food, and thier rides, for the most part, are amazing. -
Orange County (CA) Fair (yeah, it's late)
Gnome replied to flyingspin's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I went to the OC fair this year, as well. I hadn't been in a long time, and after going this time I realized that fairs are a crappy place, and I'm never going back. You can't make me! -
S&S Sansei Discussion Thread
Gnome replied to Coaster Joe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the million dollar price tag does not all go to the company. Its just like any line of work of that nature. They work on multi-million dollar projects, but the company only recieves a small percentage of that money. The rest goes into materials and buildings. I don't know why people automatically assume that roller coaster designers have all the money in the world, because they don't. I really think ride manufacturers should also off other areas of work. That would definately help them with keeping the company around. -
I highly doubt the coaster had anything to do with her death, except raise her adrenaline a little. Or maybe it was the running to her friends and family that did her in? Either way, I'm pretty sure this was going to happen sooner or later by the sounds of it, unfortunately it happened at a very inconvenient time for the family where everyone is suppose to be having fun.

Adobe Elements Package is the way to go if you don't have a lot of money. Comes with Adobe Premier Elements (a light version of the pro software) and Adobe Photoshop Elements (which is also a light version). Both features the most commonly used features of the pro software. And, athough it does not have everything, it does have quite a bit.

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread
Gnome replied to the_rock401's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ silverbullet has so much wasted potential. I cry myself to sleep because of it. Hopefully this valleyfair attraction won't be a dud for w/e it is. Whether that be a B&M invert, or a GCI, or a flying stand up floorless coaster.
