  1. yea, i understood its 3D animation. I guess I should have been more specific or worded my phrasing differently. Regaurdless, I cant wait to get back to USH to ride this. Despite the sheer lack of anything to do, it's still one of my favorite parks to go to just to kick it with friends.. the park is kind of like re-watching your favorite movie.. a lot of it's the same, but its still a lot of fun.
  2. you have to amdit, too, that a 3D ride isn't neccessarily the first and most plausible idea when you're thinking of a simpsons based ride. A ride more of the style of Rodger Rabbit or something like that would seem more fitting, but for what they wanted to do, convert the ride, I guess it works.
  3. When I first heard about the ride, i thought they were going to use large immersive screens like on spiderman... It looks more like you roll up to a tv screen and start shooting away. I guess its still a good edition to DCA/DHS, with them both needing rides and everything. And the extensive que theming is nice, haven't seen it for quite awhile.
  4. this is possibly one of the most racist threads I've ever seen. Shame on you for assuming that insurgents would just automatically use a half billion dollar theme park, which is in the middle of Iraq's most violent city, as a target for ther dirty work. Shame, Shame, Shame... you're just assuming that these people who are about to go blow themselves up dont care about things like children, and morals, and allah, and the such.
  5. almost all games have havok. Its nothing special at all. Don't you mean Euphoria?
  6. well it looks like this one has a pretzle loop at the start of the ride. But what I liked about Tatsu's is that its midway so it's like the climax is quite literally at the climax.. Regaurdless this ride will be fun and very pretty I'm sure.
  7. Nobody appreciates a suck up. The movie was good.. but not that great.. you don't have to proclaim it as the greatest movie ever made. I feel like you've sold this movie out. Instead of appreciating it for what it is, you're advertising it just because there's some one, for the record you've probably never have or never will meet, who just happens to visit the same website you do. Just throwing it out there. Its good to be excited about things. Just make sure you're doing it for the right reasons.
  8. Well it looks nice. It also looks like there's a plenty of room for expansion because for the moment, it doesn't look like there is that much to do. But I guess if people keep going, they will keep adding things to do. But overall, not bad for a park built in 2 years.
  9. you can't take nothing serious these days. It always ends up being april fools.
  10. ha! I was the one who loaded you onto the Screaming Swing. I seriously hate working that ride.
  11. Tenacious D dark ride is still a must! Or maybe a trip on the Who's Magic Bus perhaps? They could also do some trippy shite with Pink Floyd's the Wall perhaps? Really.. dark rides are the only thing missing from this park, imo, and there is a lot of potential for them to create a fun and creative experience.
  12. I think that thing triggered an acid trip because I am tripping balls.
  13. Once you actually work for a park, you end up finding out that a lot of it depends on how many people are running the park which depends on a couple of factors. Factor 1 - Projected Daily attendence. If you're not going to have very many people in your park, you're not going to need a lot of people to run it, otherwise it becomes to costly. You have to have a certain ammount of people staffed in order to operate the ride. Often times when things become more complicated, you need more staff... so if no body is at the park, then why run 3 trains when people can get on pretty much everything they want within the parks opening hour. Keep in mind that parks pay attention to the daily average ammount of rides guests can get in. They figure if guests can get on the majority of major rides within the day, they're doing fine. I mean at SFMM, there are days where it just lags on and on... it does get rediculous.. but at the end of the day I've usually gotten on everything I've wanted to once. Also.. with this point.. keep in mind that the point is to make money off of your guests. If you overspend on staffing budget.. well then attendence fees aren't going to cover operation of the park. Factor 2.. or at least this is how it works at Knotts.. and presumably else where... it depends on the scheduled people to show up for their shift. In order to keep up with their required work force demans... theme parks higher larger quantities of people and sometimes they can't be as picky as they'd like to be in order to fill that quota. Grant it they don't hire anybody, but a lot of times people who have no business in the industry end up with a job there. And sometimes.. they never show up for work... so as a result.. the ride gets understaffed and you get said problem of not being able to fully operate the attraction. I think Shapiro is doing a good job, though, and I believe he's moving the company in the right direction. I think in a couple years time, you'll see he's delievered on making quality parks that deliver it's share holder some profits as well. Also, I noticed that you guys have put up policies which are already policies within the company most likely. But what it comes down to is the attitude of your staff... which often is a result of your management team. Strict management who keep employees in their place will often see better results. Simple as that. From there.. you just need to have an intersting park for your "cast" to perform their roles in.
  14. Sometimes... man.. I just read your posts and wonder about you... just some times.... Anyways... I use a Canon HG10. It's an HD-HDD and I funking love it. Of course. Canon does also sell a mini-dv tape HD camera for about a $100 less then the HDD model. EIther way you can't go wrong. But the thing is... HDD transfers much faster then sitting through a tape watching it in real time. It's kind of confusing to work with at first but once you figure it out, it's eazy breazy. Of course, you'll also need the right software to interpret it, though I heard Sony offers are relatively inexpensive piece of software (like $150) which rivals Adobe Premier Elements, but it supports the codec and it has various other feautures on top of that which give it more of an edge.
  15. But there are numerous parks closing as well. Just because other parks are opening doesn't give this one a better chance of opening. There are an amazing number of hurdles to clear to get a brand new theme park up and running. However, there is a great population base in this area to support the park if it opens. crappy parks are the ones that are closing. Not well thought at parks people can actually enjoy.
  16. Well from what I've seen on you tube compared to my actual experiences... I wouldn't be able to guess which Indiana Jones I like better between the 2. The thing with DLR's is there are a couple of dead spots that need to be fixed. The "rat" scene comes to mind. Pitch black, and a video projected onto a smoke screen. It's not very interesting. There are several moments of where you're just cruising through black smoke. And I would definately like to see Disney "plus" up these areas some time in the future. With that in mind, I think TDS uses all the space in their attraction very well. It didn't look like there were really any dead spots, and a lot of the effects were just plain impressive. For example the tornado in place of a giant idol shooting lasers at you. But the difference is though, from what I saw was that the main room just had that special effect while DLR's looked like a much more detailed set piece. So I would have be torn between the two in that aspect. Comparing the opening scene of DLR's to TDS, I will have to say TDS wins hands down. The effect is much more impressive, and is very cool and entertaining to watch. Smoke ring on TDS's is just crazy cool. I mean smoke rings are just sweet in general, but the way they do it makes it that much cooler. Other then those key issues, I'd also like to note that the atmoshperic lighting on TDS's to me is just more exotic and pleasing to the eyes. I'm one of those people who can't stand getting "treasures" room on DLR's just because I can't stand the ugly gold color. Knowledge and Youth are much more impressive, with knowledge being my favorite between the 3. Compared to Countdown to Extinction though, I mean while they utilize the same ride system, I can't really compare it. It's like comparing haunted mansion to adventures through innerspace. They're just not the same. The excitement comes from 2 comletely different strategies. For one, Indiana Jones is more like an escape from a collapsing temple. The thrill comes from the over all sense of speed, motion, and sets coming interacting with you. Countdown is similar in that you are still apart of the experience, but the first half of the ride is more about "look at these impressive animatronic dinosaurs" and the second half is more about a sense of fear from audio/visual stand point. I don't recall anything in the ride really jumping out at me like the snake in Indiana Jones or the boulder at the end. It was more like really loud and scary noises come from every which direction with disorienting imagery. So quick summary of the difference - Indiana Jones is more based on set pieces with in your face object interaction. Countdown is more based on creatures and loud scary noises. I hope that makes sense
  17. Isn't the monorail the fastest at like 55mph or something?
  18. Could it be for the same reason that Mack has build rides with the elevator lift system? To help conserve space in parks that might not have it? Maximum RPM seems to be a very compact ride. Perhaps this was just Premiere's answer to an elevator lift where the current Mack version can only have 2 ride vehicles on it at one time and this iteration can house 4. How's that for a fairly logical explanation? --Robb Well actually, it's more like 3. One would be empty because the train would have been released while it was at the peak. But still... it's a whole nother train which still picks up capacity.
  19. I believe I read an Al Lutz article awhile back talking about the indoor entertainment complex. I can't remember if kansas was specifically mentioned or not in the article, but it was noted that the amusement armd of the Disney company was looking forward to building such things to expand beyond the parks themselves.
  20. See I beg to differ. Either they were watching Team America when they came up with the name's Renegade and Maverick, or they came up with one idea and they found synanyms for it. One name on it's own would have been all right, but using both kind of made me scratch my head. I mean sure, they're not bad names, but using both just shows a lack of creativity for me. I don't think that a ride really needs "theming" but the ride should have some kind of presentation to it. It shouldn't be just generic archetecture structure akwardly placed in the middle of a giant concrete forest. learn from Sea World and the Bush Parks. Their stations are not spectacularly detailed, but they are well placed and brought to a level beyond generic. It gives the surrounding area a homey and interesting enviornment. Sure, maybe the ride doesn't need the theming, but you're experiencing all that before and after the actual ride, and it helps you enjoy your day even after you step off the unloading platform, and that's really something that CF doesn't get, and it appears that SF is trying to work harder to get to.
  21. I am completely unthankful for this ride. Knotts didn't need it. Looks like a piece of crap and its taking away even more of the park's charm. I'm disowning you KBF. You suck. I'll probably go once next year once it opens though, as I haven't been on the Sierra Sidewinder yet.
  22. ^ it took me 2 days to beat it. Basically I just sat in practice mode and got my fingers used to going that fast. I usually have better luck when I play it with an upstroke for some reason. It's not like I'm perfecting it, but I hit enough notes to get through it without needing star power. Ok, here are the solutions for both of your problems: 1. Get a friend (with guitar) and play co-op mode. You can play it on easy if you want, it doesn't matter. Once you beat the co-op "bonus" songs (like Suck My Kiss) in co-op mode, they will be available in the quickplay menu on all difficulties. 2. Beat the game (including bosses) on medium. This will unlock all of the boss battles so you can play them on all difficulties in quickplay (and practice mode). Hope that helps... already accomplished both of those... and then I had my friend beat it for me. But I was mainly upset because I wasn't able to beat it in the difficulty that I pretty much had no trouble at all beating... until that song, then it became impossible.
  23. I like spying on them from their home. It gives me sensual pleasures I never knew could feel so sensual.
  24. How do you only do a 20 minute work out? I suppose if you're only doing cardio, I understand... but whenever I hit the gym it takes me some where between 1 - 2 hours. Usually after 2 I'm spent. haha
