  1. I take a lot of shit for hanging out with gay people, and I"m not even gay. Excuse me for treating people like people... But yea, I guess some one has to set an example.
  2. Basically... HD-DVD & Blu-Ray will be permanently defined just as their console counter parts are. I really don't think that one will ever beat out the other and until companies decide to cater to both, people will have to live with one or the other, or get both. Personally I think its retarded to make people decide. NOt to mention that I have not really seen anything positive from the "competition" between the two. While the player might have come down a bit in price, the discs themselves are still outrageously expensive. So bottom line... I might get an HD-DVD add on for my 360, but never would I invest into a stand alone player. My assumptions for getting the add on would be that the player would be outdated when my system becomes outdated.. and I'd trade both in at the same time anyways.
  3. ^ no.. it's not strong feelings about a plastic guitar... it's strong feelings about a game I just paid $100 for. It should be making me happy. Not upset. It's aggravating.
  4. So basically, one of the things that made the first and Guitar Heroes so good is definitely not apparent in GHIII. For one, there wasn't a progression of difficulty through out the game. To me it just seemed like it went from easy and playable to extremely difficult. (Raining Blood, i have no idea how I beat you, but at least there was a practice mode for you) But what's really pissing me off is they have different songs that you can only play in different sections of the game. For example Suck My Kiss can only be played in co-op... what the hell? Why is it that I can beat all the songs and not be able to play it in the free play section? Worst of all... I can't even practice or play any of the boss battle songs. It's so retarded.. I can't even beat the final boss. If I could practice it... then maybe I could beat the finall boss.. but the option is not even there to do such! It just takes what would have been a fun game and turns it into a frustrating peace of crap. It totally defeats the purpose. Its not like I'm playing on expert and I'm trying to go for something that is suppose to be REALLY difficult... I'm playing on hard and I just need a challenge not a freaking brain aneurysm. Who else got the game and is just kind of pissed off about it? Dare I say it, but I'm going back to halo.
  5. Al lutz mentioned in an article last spring that while attendence was up for Space Mountain... so were the complaints. Its likely it will not becoming back.
  6. I beg to differ. I think there are a lot of people on this site that would be satisfied if Disney announced that they were going to build a bunch of really top notch coasters. There would be a lot of disappointed people as well, but I think overall there would be more people excited about it. Overall though, when all the plans went through I think they would find that although there are a bunch of really great coasters, something is missing from the formula. I think what has been presented to us is the start of turning DCA to what it should have been from the very beginning. It's going to look like how it should have back when the park opened 6 years ago. So it's still going to take some time, but I think that majority of people will be satisfied with what people get. I don't know about you, but a lot of times when I go to Disney, it's not all about the rides. Most of the time we're not even on rides. We're walking around enjoying the atmosphere and the live entertainment. DCA has a serious lack of this at the moment with nothing all that spectacular, but by the end of phase 1 of the $1.3 billion rebuild, I can seriously see myself wanting to walk around and take pictures and enjoying a good most of my day at DCA. I think some people have some very pessimistic views about the plan, which I think is good so long as the criticism is good. Good criticism results in good improvements. But I think for the most part the imagineers and executives have it down this time for the most part, although there are some new things I'd also like to see. I'm hoping that new stories will be told... you know like how the Haunted Mansion and Pirates brought something new to the table. I'm hoping the imagineers can bring some new concepts to the table as well, but we shall see.
  7. By the way... if this hasn't been mentioned alreayd... this is only phase 1 of most like 2 different phases for major update of DCA. http://www.miceage.com/allutz/al101807a.htm Not even half the cards have been put on the table yet. We'll have plenty to discuss and look forward for the years to come.
  8. Worst? Ha don't even get me started. From what I hear the Walt Disney Studios Paris is more of a dud, and when you think about it WDS Florida isn't that great either. DCA just about has all the rides they do, and even if they aren't as good, they still have all that and at least a little bit more. (Rockin = CA Scream, Tot = Tot, Toy Story Mania = Midway Mania, Muppets = Muppets) And not to mention the live entertainment is much better, for example the high school musical is better. ect. So DCA is far from worse and it's only getting better.
  9. ^ well we shall see. The way I'm seeing this is this is just an expanded pacemaking project. By the time this next step of development is over I'm guessing they will have a new budget to hit what they missed in the first run. From the looks of it, while the park will be pretty will have a number of new attractions, I don't think it will have quite enough at the moment to really get the same park attendendence ratio that the TDL resort receives, but that gap will definately start to decrease, and I think the "Disney Magic" will start to show.
  10. ^ if anything they would rip it out and replacle it with a crush coaster. http://www.miceage.com/allutz/al100907a.htm But Al Lutz has some insightful insight on the current plans for DCA. Sounds like Grizzly River area won't see much of the 1 billion so I'm hoping that come around 2009, the executives in Disney will see that DCA is really starting to turn around and will budget a proper ammount of money to get properly fix the Golden State area, which could then mean it would be ready to go in either 2012 or 2013 a year or 2 after the completion of Carsland in 2011. But that's wishful thinking, of course they could figure something out before then too which would be good.
  11. Just bought Transformers on DVD. (Actually 2 copies.. haha) but yea, I want to get Planet Terror as well once I have more monies to spend.
  12. Imagine all the people who would hurt themselves down the escalator. Lawsuits waiting to happen. I don't know but maybe they could have some fog or lighting just to keep the mood.
  13. Next year I would definately like to see them add a show based around the host. I think it does a good job setting up the premise of the event.
  14. I've been to parties. People can turn into dicks when they've had to much alcohol. Last year there was still plenty of drinking going on at Universal, just not inside of the park. There were plenty of people to be found puking in the bushes as I was exiting the park. But still, enjoy your vacation. No one's saying you can't drink a little, but they are saying that you won't be able to drink at the event. That's a good thing, because even if YOU are responsible, there are TONs and TONS and TONS of people same age and older who are not responsible at all. I don't know if you've ever dealt with a mean drunk like a theme park but it really is not fun at all. It kills the fun for the security, why should he have to argue with some one who is clearly stepping out of bounds? It kills it for any employee's the people harassed to begin with, and it kills it for the rest of the guests around them. So by not selling it, it gets rid of the problem for the most part. THen you just have to worry about the kidz wondering around on some other substances but they're nice for the most part, they're just a little stupid. But enjoy your vacation, it's fun to be sober.
  15. My favorites go in this order: Halloween Horror NIghts Shipwreck @ the Queen Mary Long Beach Knott's Halloween Haunt and then I've never been to SFMM's Fright Fest but it doesn't look that great either. HHN simply makes up for in quality what it lacks in quantity. If your one of those people who really don't get scared easily, the mazes are at least good for pretty objects. But with that in mind pretty objects help the scare factor, imo, because often times I find myself distracted by them and then I find a scareactor popping out from behind me delivering a good startle. Queen Mary is just one maze after the other. Fair ammount of scare.. still Haunt styled, but still good. Haunt.. well I dunno if it's just because it's knott's but I've gone 2 times per year for the last 3 years and it's just really nothing new... even if it is new... I'm so over it.
  16. I would have loved to go tomarrow night but I didn't get work off. I think I'll go next week.
  17. It sounds really exciting. Guess I'll just have to experience the Terror Tram myself to see what new goodies they brought to the table. But really, the new options in shows as well as the 3 main mazes are more then enough to keep the event fresh compared to last year. I'm planning on visiting at least two times this year. Thanks for posting the interview Robb!
  18. There's a complete reverse Silver Bullet POV on the Knocked Up bonus DVD. It's so wierd, I like it.
  19. so anxious for the interview to be posted.
  20. it's to bad MiA couldn't get one of GL's better rides, but w/e.
  21. Is 18 the average drinking age in Europe? What's cell phone reception like as well?
  22. GCI's really coming with some great design's these past couple years. All of them look fresh and fun, more then I can say for most steel coaster's coming out these days and they have more they can work with. I just wish that Six Flags could like you know... build better experiences beyond the ride. Why Evil Kineival and Tony Hawk? I thought Evil Kineival was dead! I'm not even kidding you. And if it's not one of those two, it's another Goliath. Come on Six Flags! I thought you wanted to build an experience, not a day trip because the homies just wanna hang out.
  23. Damn! I'm so stoked for this year's HHN. Even though it's doesn't compare to Knott's quantity.. it makes up for everything with it's quality. I can't wait to see how they change up the terror tram this year.. hopefully it's noticably different, I don't want it to be same experience just new villain. But yea I'm planning on going a couple times this year, the whole event is just really put together so cleverly. It's amazing how even though in general the park offers so little, it's still one of my favorite places to go. I just wished that they could expand the park a little more. So going back to the terror tram, though, myy question is how do they plan on keeping the Terror Tram fresh for repeat visitors who come year after year? Will people who went last year feel like their experiencing something new this year? Or as mentioned earlier, is it really just going to be like last year but with Jack instead of the Director?
  24. Don't skip school kidz! There's more to life! But yea, my box is also in repair but I zipped over to the gamestop about 200 feet away from where I worked at right after we got done cleaning the theater. Yay... it's to bad I don't have an xbox. Guess I'll just have to get a life.
