What is your favorite TV-series?
themeparkman25 replied to Hattuchili's topic in Random, Random, Random
Ah! Not very happy that FlashForward won't be on the air until March now. Seriously weak. -
Cedar Fair has made a new website, at least to my knowledge, advertising the thrill rides and coasters at all 11 of their parks. You can search by each parks "signature attractions" as well as the other thrill rides offered by that park. I guess you can say it is kind of like RCDB, but it is solely for CF parks. You can also search by rides, and sub divide that search by height, speed, etc. There is also a free stuff tab and a tickets tab. The coolest thing for me though, is the forum. Yeah I'm staying true to my TPR blood, but it is a cool idea as you can have general discussions as well as park specific discussions. Check it out for yourself! Ride Warrior Nation!

themeparkman25 replied to CCJared's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
No problem! There are just a lot of forces being exerted on the track and therefore the supports. Now someone else can chime in here if I am wrong, but I would probably put the supports on the outside of the turn rather than the inside. -

To me, the supports circled in yellow need to have the additional diagonal supports like those found circled in red. Unless there is a specific reason that you would have to have just a vertical support, add some diagonal ones. Yes you see vertical ones on coasters such as Kraken (the corkscrew) and Viper (turn above station), but those are much "beefier" supports. So, if you stick with just vertical, fatten 'em up a little. Hopefully you get what I am saying. I can't wait for the release of this coaster. -

Ghost- Where is the concept art or whatever you used to make out a loop. I want to see. Maybe it is just me, but I find the pretzel loop to be one of the most intense and disorienting inversions out there, making it my favorite inversion. -
^Happy almost birthday!

Dubai is in a major debt crisis right now, so I have to imagine that it will have some effect on SFD. To my understanding though, the park will be owned and managed by a Dubai based financial institution and will only be branded as a Six Flags park. Similar to McDonalds or Wal Mart. Now considering the firm with the money is a Dubai based firm that has a large presence in the financial aspect of the country, they will most definitely be effected by the crisis. Pardon me if I mixed "affected" and "effected", though I think I am right.

GCII Never-Before-Seen Video
themeparkman25 replied to CoasterCard's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It says another 41 for me, but I don't think it really matters. Its past midnight there, and I don't think they have someone sitting on facebook patiently waiting to post the video. My bet is it gets posted in the morning, during normal business hours, should the 1000 be broken. -

Somebody get some water, Drew Brees is on fire. -
Do you think in America it would have flipped to the left? hahaha

^Are you sure it doesn't stop you? I guess I have never paid that much attention on SheiKra or Griffon, but it definitely seems like you stop. I know you would lose a little accuracy, but what if you converted the holding brake from a lift segment into a brake segment? That way you could have it get to a complete stop before releasing. You could also have the brakes hidden, and then just add a chain as a 3D object!

AHAHAHAH! Does anyone else find this to be the most hilarious product out there? I dare you to watch the video of the "excercise" and then come back to me and tell me you didn't laugh. You would be a liar. Seems like the later you are up, the funnier the ads, and this one has to be one of the funniest. WATCH AT 0:30 SECONDS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4S3C4AC908w

I think this coaster looks great! From what I cant tell, the track is very smooth and the supports look fantastic. What do the forces look like though, specifically through the turn after the immelmann? I like how you incorporated the loop too, makes the ride more original. Keep up the great work! Ill be following this thread. Edit- Does the holding break actually hold the train? It just seems to slow down but not actually stop it.

Even Griffons colors seem cold and matted. This is a cool event though, looks like you had fun. -
Well, in defense for this ride, because I personally love it, is how do you make two coasters dual when one is a family sit down and the other is a inverting invert? You cant have those 18 inch close duals through a loop when one of them can't loop. You cant have one ZGR over the other because one would be looping and one would have some crazy airtime. My point being, Dueling Dragons are two identical coasters set out for the same purpose while Battlestar is two very different coasters trying to achieve different purposes while still maintaining some aspect of dueling. And yes, I do know DD aren't actually identical. And lets be real, those trains and that hill are too awesome to actually hate.

^^I've ridden the real one. This recreation is pretty accurate. ^He said that his computer wasn't working and that it would be awhile before we see anything new. In the mean time, just keep oogleing over how great it looks right now. On a side note, I'm really sick of coasters with tube supports. It has been overdone. I think we should be creative and use toothpicks and playdoh. -

Keep up the great work, this thing looks great!
