  1. Erm. This is one of my favorite threads, can I bump it since I know there are some cool pictures that have been taken since the last post? I certainly hope so. Edit: I am trying to post a couple of my pics and I am getting this message, anyone know what I am doing wrong? Could not access ftp directory: '/public_html/forum/files'. Please check your FTP Settings.
  2. Hey babe, I was wondering if I could be dubbed "Manta Enthusiast" since I love Her and am making a model of Her? I mean, I have every curve memorized of her after all. You will always be my true love though. Thanks for a great night last night. We should do it again soon... Jordan
  3. As much as it hurts me to say this, cause I really do enjoy this park, I think the park is in its coffin and each one of these suits is a nail sealing its death. I'm pulling for this park to figure it out soon, but I don't think soon will come fast enough. I'll say it for Robb too. "You can't run a successful park when you are selling tickets for 5 dollars"
  4. ^Well I am no pro at heartlining myself, BUT, from what I've heard, AHG goes whack when the track is vertical. So to get the tool to work properly, I believe you have to make the track 89.9999999999 degrees, and then everything should be good. Either way, it still looks great.
  5. What is the angle of the tube on the back of the triangle, when it is no longer vertical? Looks great though! And I am assuming you are heartlining the tower, right?
  6. Tentatively my trips are as follows... Norcal for SFDK, Gilroy and CGA for spring break. (I might substitute this trip for one to Texas for SFFT, SFOT and SWSA) Kings Dominion hopefully for opening of i305. Kings Island Holiday World TPR Europe Trip parks Carowinds Orlando for IAAPA hopefully as an Ambassador again.
  7. I know some of these updates are old, but there is some sweet stuff posted on their website and on their facebook. The Sentosa Blogspot can be found there. December 16- Couple nice videos of the human line and Jurassic Park. December 30- Some very nice shots of the park at night. Pretty coasters! December 31- General Park update. Check it out! Guess who is completely psyched for this theme park? <----That man!
  8. 2nd Semester: Marketing Management Accounting Information/operation Systems Money and Banking Systems I am actually pretty excited about those classes.
  9. Well, to start the season off perfect and to completely bomb it the second half, it will be very interesting to see what happens to the Broncos this off season personell wise. My prediction for the super bowl: Vikings vs. Colts.
  10. ^I mean, outside of USS, the intimidators', dueling GCIs', Ferrari World and Ring Racer: there really isn't that many big things announced for 2010 haha.
  11. Well my RA duties are to make sure all the freshman make smart choices, and if they make stupid ones, to go do them somewhere else. I also do programs for community building and encourage studying. The usual... Now, of course she is a good girl haha, so I don't have to worry about every writing her up. But university protocol is that I would no longer be able to write her up (or not write her up), because it would be biased. So to eliminate that biased, I move out or she moves out, and they don't move RAs' around. So it is just an obvious pain to her, something I don't want to necessarily put her through. Do I sneak it and potentially lie and lose my job?
  12. ^Well my friend, it turns out I had a error with the apostrophe on my model home page. Thanks to you, I no longer look like stupid! Thanks!
  13. I'm an RA (resident advisor) in the dormitories on campus, and I like one of my residents. I don't know what I should do about it, but I really don't know what I can do about it. I mean, she is my age and we get along real well, but it is just overall a really bad situation.
  14. I just feel so isolated from the theme park world out here in Colorado, and we all know TPR isn't going to come to Elitch Gardens any time soon. My concern is my location (my problem, not TPR's). I mean, the nearest legitimate park is a solid 7 hour drive and I still can't rent a car due to age, so travelling to any of the events would make it difficult. So, yes the idea is awesome, but it just seems less feasible for me. I do like the possibility of park discounts, since I travel a lot on my own, I just foresee a difficulty in getting to all the club TPR events. I'm still voting yes for interested though since there seems to be enough offered for even people far away from a theme park.
  15. ^How was the event? It looked pretty cool from the set up. Jordan "missed the event by 48 hours" Darrington
  16. I just went on a socal trip, got some new credits! But I FINALLY got on Desperado. I had been to Primm three times prior to this trip, and it was closed every time, but I finally got on it today! Happy New Years too!
  17. Congrats to both of you on the continuation of your models. It is cool that I can be an inspiration to others. MANTA UPDATE!!! Well, the first drop has been completed. Turns out this styrene stuff is a lot harder to work with than it was when you were just turning in one single direction. Either way, I completed the first drop exactly how I wanted, so hopefully you can agree and enjoy. At this point, you may also notice that there are streaks of silver or whatever on the track. Don't worry, its tape holding a piece in to dry. Also you may notice that the connection of the supports to the track is different than on the real one, and my answer to that is I am sorry. I tried using little pieces of the spine glued on to the actual spine as the connection point, but it just looked sloppy and gross. (This connection point is the same color of the track just fyi). So it is likely I do supports that connect straight to the track as seen in the 3 lower supports in lue of the spine pieces. Sorry the update is short and sloppy, I leave for Cali in 7 hours and just wanted to get this uploaded before I left. Jordan!
  18. Who has ridden one of these? If you have, what was the experience like. I was looking at the Cobra-1 coasters, but couldn't quite get a feel of the restraints, but I have to imagine that this new Loop 520 design with the hanging section is awfully painful on the shoulders.
  19. Looks great! I didn't know you were doing Power Tower though, regardless, it will still be a cool project. How big is the base board? I can't quite tell using the grains in the carpet, but it looks to be in the 1' X 1' range. What are you using for the tower supplies? Wood, styrene or something else? Keep it up, I am very excited about this project.
  20. I think everyone needs to ride Prowler and realize why it is so high. Europe trip though...lots of top coasters. Merry Christmas to me! Edit: Looking back at the 2002 results, it looks like X peaked at the 7th spot, which I think is the highest of any socal coaster. Correct me if I am wrong.
  21. Firstly, MERRY CHRISTMAS TPR!! There is in fact an update, I just don't want to post it yet. I have the spine and ties and supports for the entire first drop complete, I just have to melt the rails in to place, and then I will post it. I also just checked johnnyupsidedown and realized I did glue one support backwards, so I ripped it out real quick, and will install in the right way asap (no more than 15 seconds work). So, look for an update very soon, as I am psyched to share the first actual part of this coaster with everyone. Think of it as my christmas present to tpr. How is your model coming along? Actually, of all you guys that asked for tips, how are all your models coming along? Im dying to see them. Again, Merry Christmas! -Jordan
  22. I am pretty psyched Prowler went as high as it did, it truly is a great coaster. Pun intended. This just made me all the more excited for europe trip too, with Katun, EGF and Blue Fire on the top 11, its going to be awesome! Edit: oh yeah, Goliath at Walibi World too. Make it 4!
  23. CRASH! I am sure you know this, but that system, though original, violates every single rule of a block system imaginable. I guess the realistic, and proper way to execute the chasing, would be that of a dueling coaster. I do give you credit though for being original.
  24. I am heading out west to SFMM and USH a couple days after christmas, but have the option of flipping dates around, and ultimately I can go as late as a couple days after the new year. I have a SFMM pass from back in March, so I can still get in for free in 09. So the question of the day is, do I use my pass to get in for free or do I wait until as long as possible in hopes Batman and Goliath will be operational? I have ridden them both before, so I wouldn't be missing credits, but they are both fun and I would like to ride them again. What do you think?
  25. ^^No I am being dead serious. Yes it is a MASSIVE drop, but it is only going at 56.8 fps, quite a bit slower than any drop tower and definitely slower than the launches on some coasters. I'm not trying to say that this ride isn't scary, cause it would and will scare a ton of people (myself included), but I am saying I was hoping for more of a freefall.
