  1. ^Well ya, but the bigger and better comment was in reference to the oversized nature of everything in America. ex) cars, meals, houses, coasters. It was just me poking fun at, well, myself!
  2. I secretly think this coaster was built by S&S. It is obviously a distant cousin of ring racer is it not? 4 years is a lengthy amount of time, considering most announce and get the keys to drive in like 8 months.
  3. "Oh Suzy, you give such a good ride" hahahaha. haha. That made me laugh. What was the point of the 65" tele when you just put the mask on anyways? You could have gotten away with the laptop and glasses, but what fun would that be? Obviously trying to copy America where everything is bigger and better.
  4. ^Coasters can hydroplane, it messes up the times and makes everything screwy. I feel like EG didn't run much longer in that weather. Plus any rain going 50+ mph hurts, ie SheiKra! I wasn't riding this when I took the picture, but I was staffed on a ride when we had to shut the park down completely, including powering down every ride, due to an intense thunderstorm. Oh, and there was a twister above Twister! Oh my! It doesn't look like much, but this was taken before the heat of the storm...before we hid in a shelter.
  5. ^AW! I think the force of Batman plus the flyer restraints would freak even me out. And the thought of an already insanely intense pretzel loop with invert otsrs makes my shoulders hurt. Might be worth a try, I mean it works in No Limits doesn't it?!
  6. How does a company like Six Flags end up 2 billion in debt, and then have another company like Blackstone pay 2.3 billion IN CASH for these parks? If I know my terms, paying in cash is a figure of speech, but still means that they are only taking a loan out of 0.4 billion (still a lot). Cash means assets Blackstone already has right? I am still working on my business degree, someone who has one help me out! Perhaps we could Busch Dubai resurface soon as Blackstone would announce plans to continue or halt those further. Either way, I am satisfied with the sale.
  7. I cannot wait for sunday. So there can be more Tom Brady lovin' and more talking about how everything is illegal against the man. I hope champ bailey picks him three times and elvis dumervil makes him eat some mile high dirt.
  8. Jarmor posted it in his Hyper coaster project... Thank Him.
  9. Nemesis (Inferno too) vs Katun Rita vs RingRacer Stealth vs iSpeed Pepsi vs Silver Star Air vs Oblivion vs Mumbo Jumbo vs vs Blue Fire vs Dueling GCIs vs Expedition GeForce I know I missed a couple big credits, but they each have matches and they each have coasters I really want to ride. I just don't think bailing on work for two weeks would fly well, otherwise I would half to do both. I'm sure you'll do 'em both again though, but I just don't know if I can pass up EG, BF and iSpeed.
  10. The question for me remains: Do I want to be a credit whore and do UK and get less awesome rides, or do I get less credits in the Europe trip but get better rides? That is kind of like asking how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop...you get a million licks but a lot less awesome or do you get less licks but more awesome?
  11. I am writing an assignment with a TPR pen, and I have absolutely no idea where it came from. I have only ever met a few TPR-ers and none up here in Boulder. Weird. I realized today after watching Champ Bailey pick off Romo, that I shook Bailey's hand this summer at Elitches. And then gave him a ride on our Boomerang. And the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies might rock my world.
  12. ^You should post some pictures of what you have so far. It is like Ghost and Me doing it, and it would be fun to see what everyone else has. Unless of course everyone wants to keep their stuff a secret.
  13. Alright, someone seriously needs to help me make these pictures bigger. Everyone else seems to be able to take big screen shots, but me. I have to shrink mine way down and it is killing me. Help! So far, all I have done is the front courtyard. I am VERY pleased with how this is turning out. I have failed the park objective though, so she will never see guests. Oh well! The park is Spanish themed, can you tell? I am now where even near done, and have some great ideas planned. I don't really have a name though yet, want to shoot me some ideas? How is everyone else doing? SCR14.BMP In the churches courtyard you will find the Ferris Wheel, named Grande Rueda. SCR162.bmp An Intamin impulse named El Serpiente. This is my first coaster with custom supports, how did I do? SCR15.BMP The main plaze. Beneath the far arches would be food, info, souvenirs and stuff. SCR17.BMP The entrance plaza. In real life there would be ticket windows, guest services, etc out here.
  14. ^You are right. After looking in to it further, the point of the heartline is to rotate around the heart as to eliminate lateral forces and make transitions as smooth as possible. Thank you for clearing that up. TMCdllr, listen to CP.
  15. ^It is still an incorrect ride of riding, and in a happy perfect world all riders would ride standing up. But this isn't a happy perfect world and people do sit down on the seat, they are a minority however. The better point people should be addressing is that you have fairly small people riding stand ups and fairly tall people riding as well. So the question is, where was the heartline placed in the light of the range of hearts. Obviously, my guess would be somewhere in the middle leaning towards to the lower end up of the scale, that way accommodating all riders comfortably. IF they were to convert it to sit down/floorless, that same heartline would likely be near the head and neck of the riders. The point of the heartline is to put the forces on the heart to heighten the emotions of the rider. But when you place the "heartline" on the brain or neck, you are putting heavy forces in places that shouldn't be receiving them. To me, that is the greatest single reason this will never be converted, it would put too heavy of forces on the head.
  16. I am custom supporting an Impulse coaster but when I get to the spikes, I can't get the supports close to the track. I opened up my old versions of 8cars, but they wouldn't acknowledge the rides existence, so I downloaded DMX's on the top of the page and that had the rides. I clicked the Impulse, clicked zero clearances, clicked apply then ok but when I go back to RCT, I still cant get the supports any closer. What should I do? Edit: I painted the spikes in color scheme 1, then changed it to zero clearance. And that works, but then the track flickers (it sometimes disappears and sometimes it is visible). How is that fixable or is that the wrong way to do it?
  17. I am doing the Ambassador Program at this years convention and Vegas, and if it is anything like this, I literally might explode from excitement. and anticipation. This has been great following this thread, and I can't wait to see the upcoming days. Thank you so much for posting.
  18. ^^TTD was made to run in 6 train operation right? But only rarely does it go to 6, meaning there is an extra training sitting on the storage track for a majority of the season. Could you just take that, give it a little cosmetic work, ship it to Cali and move on? There would be very little cost that way and is just utilizing capital already owned.
  19. You are obsessed with RCT2, don't kid yourself Sam. And I don't think many kids know about me at CU, I mean besides my friends and my residents (I force it on them). It would be pretty rad though to own the real one. I have to say the first thing I would do is climb all over it since it has the ladders on the spine of the track (my model will not have those, I don't care about detail that much. Coasterlovernc-I only let myself work on it during the weekends or when I have a really slow week. I get in swings where if I am working on it, I will stay up all night doing it, and I can't let myself get in those swings during the school week due to classes. I really wanted to do an invert and I probably will in the future, but Riddler has always been a favorite of mine. Atem- I can PM you my address, you can't have Riddler without Ecuador by Sash! playing. If you did you would tear the space time continuum. Thanks for the funds! Just a small update. I had to scale the size of the board down by 10%, so not that noticeable but still slightly smaller. This is due to the parts I will be using and the overall difficulty of B&M track. I had to buy solid pieces of square plastic instead of tube squares, and the solid's only came so big. It'll still look awesome, and be way more manageable for my room. All in all, I spent $100 on plastic alone, and I still need the heat gun to melt the pieces into their shapes. I still want to thank mcjaco for turning me on to styrene, the stuff is awesome. But I really want to shout out to Evergreen Scale Models and their cooperation with me whilst I tried to find the rights parts. They helped me none stop with finding parts and even sending samples and testing melting the pieces for me. If you aspire to build coasters, go with them! So parts are in the mail, should be here some time next week. Then its update season. Thanks for reading. Jordan
  20. I have a strange obsession with reading locked threads. Whenever I see one I get pretty excited and look forward to what they did wrong.
  21. The Colorado Rockies for the win!
  22. ^^If I am not mistaken, it is being built above the parking lot presently, but before it opens they will rip the concrete out beneath the coaster and plant some grass. It will run right next to the parking lot but technically not be Scream! status. ^They screamed up that lift hill today. It is looking good. One thing that still amazes me was how excited everyone was for this coaster, but how little love it is currently getting. Oh well. Edit: 1000th post!
  23. tkkyj-Thank you for that link. It helps to know that knowledge. I do not understand why the park, and more directly Cedar Fair, have not offered to pay for medical expenses. In an effort to avoid a potentially large lawsuit, one would think that getting on good and working terms with the family would be a priority. Perhaps it is coming, but I just feel like the park should be doing everything they can to ensure the family's sitiation is handled well and the boy gets proper treatment. Why are the restraints being brought into this?
  24. Green Bay is so Packer happy, I literally could see them painting this ride green and yellow and naming it Packers: The ride. For real, theme it Lombardi and Favre and that coaster will print Bay Beach money. I hope this plan goes through though. Having visited this park (and the bird sanctuary) so many times as a little kid, I would love to visit it again with a coaster. I just remember cruising on the train and rippin' down the slide in a potato sack. Oh the good ole' days. ^Good thinking about Starliner. Perhaps Cypress is just dumping their capital, in which case it would be a steal for Bay Beach.
  25. ^It is just the words Intamin and reliable in the same sentence...kind of oxymoronic.
