  1. Very nice pictures and great video. Some of the shots are very cool and unique.
  2. I've been to CGA twice and SFDK three times (all last year) and SFDK is definitely the better park...it's actually one of my favorites. First of all, CGA's waterpark is very small with only about 4 slides, and IMO only one was good. For coasters, only Flight Deck is good. Vortex is a very short and pointless stand up coaster, Demon is very rough, Grizzly is very slow and boring, and Invertigo is one of my least favorite coasters. Psycho Mouse is a pretty fun family coaster, and then you have Runaway Reptar and Taxi Jam. The park looks like it has a decent flat ride collection, but I didn't get a chance to ride any of them. Overall, I'd say it's a nice family park. I think there's two kiddie areas (?), and several family rides. Most of the coasters aren't too thrilling, making for good family coasters. I'd say it has a nice look and a good family crowd, but it just never seemed like the park had any new excitement or anything. Then you have SFDK. SFDK has the nice family atmosphere and good family rides that CGA has (3 kiddie areas!) and another decent flat ride collection (from looks). V2, Roar, and Medusa are all great rides that are fun to ride all day. I find Kong and Boomerang to be much smoother than others of their type, and Tony Hawk also looks like a lot of fun. I know there's a tiger sow, a whale show, a dolphin show, and a sea lion show (maybe more?) and I thought all were good (except the tiger show, haven't seen that one yet). You can also go and look at some zoo animals, and I think the park has a really nice lake in the very back. Both parks are pretty small, and I didn't find either to get too many crowds. SFDK!
  3. Nice Pictures and TR, especially with a crap camera? Your last picture of Raptor has to be my favorite.
  4. If I had to pick a ride that scared me the most I'd pick Intamin Drop Towers, but not really any rides scare me (anymore...just a year ago at about this time I wouldn't go on Goliath!)
  5. Disneyland and California Adventure sometime next week.
  6. Batman The Ride and Tatsu IMO...that pretzel loop is intense.
  7. I'm just a credit wh*re.
  8. I've heard from a couple people that during the "off-season" (Nov-Mar) BGT closes one of their coasters each month, kind of similiar to what Knott's does. Is this true? I never really thought about it, but it makes sense since there is no off-season there and some California parks do the same thing. I'm also wondering if Disney World, Universals, and SWO do this.
  9. Re-ridable coasters are great for me because of my motion sickness, so re-ridable coasters will also be ranked very high by me. Millennium Force has to be the best, and Maverick is surprisingly a pretty re-ridable ride also. Most of Goliath is, forgetting that helix, and I also seemed to end up getting off Phantom's Revenge and getting right back in line again almost everytime. All of these coasters are in my Top 5. I also think GCI's coasters are fun to re-ride (Terminator/Roar at night especially!) Besides coasters, I think Drop Towers are really fun to re-ride over and over again.
  10. Pilgrim's Plunge seems to be having several problems. It broke down at least 3 times (2 while I was waiting in line) when I went to Holiday World a couple days ago.
  11. Knott's Berry Farm - 5 times Castle Amusement Park - 3 times Belmont Park - 1 time Six Flags Magic Mountain - 3 times Disneyland and California Adventure - 1 time Cedar Point - 3 days Kennywood - 1 day Kings Island - 3 days Coney Island - 1 day Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom - 1 day Holiday World - 1 day Going to SFMM on Sunday for Termination Day and Disneyland and California Adventure 2 more times in the next couple weeks.
  12. I can't believe I missed it. I was there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for my first time and of course it closed right before I went...I don't care how bad it is, I wanted to experience it and get the credit!
  13. Medicine doesn't make it worse, I take bonine everytime before I go to a park and it actually helps.
  14. ^ I try. Onto Disneyland! Btw, I didn't get nearly enough California Screamin' pictures as I wanted to...I actually didn't get any worth posting! Guess I'll have to save that for next time... Walking in to DCA, you see...hey, did they change it? Looks a bit different than I remember. Ahhhhh These look really nice in person. Staying...or leaving? It is a pretty lame S&S Tower. But I'm glad I got three rides on it (first time). Too cold for you today. Of course the weather didn't stop any crowds though, or people riding GRR. Okay DCA is getting boring, onto Disneyland...for real this time. Ride under rehab (or whatever else is wrong with it) #2. Astroblasters was a lot of fun (first time). Matterhorn had a surprisingly really long wait all day, didn't get to it. Question for the non-Disney geeks: Which mountain is this? Nope... Wrong... So close... Yeah Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, what a hard one. Another really fun ride, first time in a while. Rumored 2010 attraction: Orange Bullet, a new B&M Inverted Style Roller Coaster, flying over the lake...oh yeah but the lake will be pretty much drained. *sigh* Walking over to the other side of the park, the pathway was blocked and everyone was forced to watch this. Shoot me? Boooring. Ready for your mission? They have returned safely! Ready for your launch? (er...lift hill...) Here I am on Space Mountain. Back over to DCA. Don't let my camera fool you, it looks great at night! Best Potato Ever "I heard that you hockey puck!" The End, unfortunately that's all I got from Disneyland...not the easiest place to take pictures of.
  15. Just don't think about it too much. Get there, and get right on something. Tell yourself you're going to ride it and force yourself on.
  16. Great PTR! I really like some of the "Batty" and Raging Bull pictures.
  17. Loud brake right here. Sudden drop ride there. Someone barfing right here. Me taking a picture right here. Will it make it...will it make it? Aww... 0 for 2. Hmm, this picture looks awfully familiar...except on a certain Arrow coaster? Yeah too much purple and green, I know. Hopefully this will help. Or this. Uh oh another one. Well, that is how a Boomerang works. Who likes Riptide? Honestly? It runs almost empty all day. Wipeout is still under rehab or whatever is wrong with it. Lastly, we have a rapids fail. But it was...uh...fun. All the rafts bobbing into each other. Evacuation Credit #1! The End, until DL&CA.
  18. Finally out of there, and stopped by the Stagecoach walking by, you get to the Boardwalk. I looked and looked and looked, but could not find Disneyland... Going down...or up? Rollback? Stall? Aww... Can't even compare to Silver Bullet's. No really, it can't. They're completely different. I love trying to get these shots. Luck, or skill? Ehhh, not as hard. Hmmm, do I smell a new avatar? Or maybe this one? If you turn your head upside down, and then blink three times, spin around, then gurgle some salt water, it kinda looks like a shuttle coaster. Great, now I have a headache. This does not help much!
  19. I went to Knott's Berry Farm on Memorial Day (the 25th) and was expecting it to be VERY busy...but it wasn't. Everything was running except for Wipeout, and everything had usual Knott's operations. I rode Supreme Scream for my first time and loved it, so...I ended up riding it 11 times. It was running two towers most of the day, but switched to one tower towards the end. I think my longest wait was for Sierra Sidewinder which was about 20 minutes, the rest wasn't bad at all. One thing that was frustrating...I got there before the park opened, and once I was let into the park I decided to go for Ghostrider and wait outside its entrance (since no rides were open yet) with a lot of other people, and there were a lot of people there including several workers constantly walking by, and there were three guys smoking. It was not in a non-smoking area either, and none of the workers cared to say something or even bothered to notice. Also, while on Bigfoot Rapids a piece of wood apparantly broke off the lift hill leading to the station (or whatever you want to call it) so I got my first ever evacuation credit! My ride-count for the day: Sierra Sidewinder x1 Montezooma's Revenge x1 Silver Bullet x2 Ghostrider x2 Bigfoot Rapids x1 Timber Mountain Log Ride x1 Perilous Plunge x1 Boomerang x1 Xcelerator x10 Supreme Scream x11 Then I went to Disneyland/California Adventure about a week later on May 31st (I think...I've never waited this long to do a PTR!). It was just a regular Sunday, but much more crowded than I expected. This was also my first time to Disneyland in a year so that was fun. I did the Summer Funtastic Deal which is great (3 park hoppers for the summer for only $99) so I still have two more visits left. California Screamin' was GREAT and it made 7th on my Top 10. I had only ridden it once before and didn't think it was too special, so loving it like a lot of other people was nice. It's very fun at night, I even got a ride during the fireworks! Also, quick tip: Never use Splash Mountain's single rider line. My ride-count for the day: California Screamin' x3 Maliboomer x3 Mulholland Madness x1 Space Mountain x1 Buzz Lightyear Astroblaster's x1 Big Thunder Mountain Railroad x1 Mr. Toad's Wild Ride x1 Splash Mountain x1 Haunted Mansion x1 Indiana Jones x1 For anyone asking why I didn't ride Toy Story Mania: I was in line, waiting and waiting, about a 45 minute wait, and right when I got to the point where you get your glasses, it broke down. I stayed waiting until they told everyone that it would not open back up. On the subject of break-downs, Splash Mountain and Indiana Jones also broke down while I was waiting for them. I guess I'm just bad luck? Both visits had nothing to do with each other, I'm just putting them into one topic instead of two. Here's the Knott's pictures, I'll get the Disneyland ones up soon. Starting off with Silver Bullet's layout. A pretty forceful vertical loop. Ahh, Silver Bullet's best element and my second favorite element overall. Artsy shot or me bored with my camera in the middle of Silver Bullet's layout? Yes, this helix is almost as intense as Goliath's. Moving on to the extremely fun, but dizzying (for me) Montezooma's Revenge. Forwards or backwards? "...it just...came right out of the tree..." Dontcha love those rides where you can get the ride and sign in the same picture? Yeah, KBF's coasters aren't squished in at all... Jaguar and the '!' mark are tight. Oooh, trees at Knott's? Fiesta Village flats: La Revolution. Ah! Thank you spellcheck/Knott's. As you can see I tried getting both the ride and sign in...too bad it wasn't as easy as Montezooma was. Dragon...Swing. Hat Dance. Is it spinning? And Waveswinger. I think you can tell that this one's spinning.
  20. It goes to pay per-ride. I only know this because I called about going there during the fair with my season pass. I was told Chang cost around $5.00. Anyone know when the fair is this year?
  21. Big Foot Rapids at Knott's last June, it was 2 hours and filled the whole queue, and it was frustrating seeing EMPTY boats/boats with only 2 people in them going by. There was also Rattlesnake Rapids at Lagoon last July, with a line that filled the whole queue (which looked very long) and the whole area...I did not wait in it, thinking it was at least 3+ hours. Anyone here ridden it? Is it worth it?
  22. ^^ That's a great idea and it'd be very cool to see. Scream! doesn't need audio and fire, I'd just like to see it look nice withat least something...not even effects, although the water/fountain/pond idea would be awesome. I don't expect this to happen though. I'd think the most Scream! would get would be maybe a re-paint and grass underneath it. Even that I would love to see.
  23. I've ridden Silver Bullet at Knott's the most, but I only have 25 rides on it. I've also ridden Xcelerator at Knott's 20 times, and Cobra at SFDK about 22 times. I've only been riding these coasters for a year or less though.
