^ The theme is outstanding for not only a log flume but for an indoor one. I knew nothing about it other then being told to ride it and was ultra impress. After Splash Mountain, it is my favorite. PS While riding, look for the baseball stadium seat on the wall. It is from the former Twins stadium that was on the same land before the mall.

http://mynorthwest.com/?nid=374&sid=218287 So that is a link to radio call of the year. It was from the Mariners vs Blue Jays game. One of the Mariner broadcasters makes an ultra specific player of the game guess. You can see where this is going... Stuff like this is why I love baseball.

I got both a lunch and dinner ADR at Le Cellier at EPCOT for the week between Christmas and New Years!!!! Even more amazing is I got both AFTER the first day of the 90 day window.

Yankees or Red Sox, it doesn't matter. The St. Louis Cardinals will win the WS. Best pitching staff in the game (thanks to the best pitching coach in the history of baseball in Dave Duncan) and great offense. The Matt Holiday trade is what made the team even better then they already were.

Tell them you want to go to ValleyFair and do the park why they shop Nick Universe is a park you can easily get done in a few hours. I went the Saturday of Labor Day weekend this year. I was done with the rides I wanted to do in 3 hours along with a dip-n-dots break (as an FYI, they actually carry the Birthday Cake flavor!!!) The coasters are fun for an indoors park. Avatar and Fairly Odd Coaster were the only coaster with any line. For the flats, Tak Attack and the log flume are easily the best in the park. The rest of the flats are basically, just inside with Nick characters on them. The mall itself is nothing special except the Lego Store, which rules. Most of it is just larger version of stores you see at home. The mini golf is over priced and nothing special. The aquarium seemed nice, but not for the price. The food is basic mall food with an overpriced Rainforest Cafe thrown in. The place is a great way to spend a few hours. I would not do a full day there, but would pick the park over shopping.

The park's problem was never that. The problem was the land owners (which is half the family that originally owned the park, which got split after the father died) refused to even offer a lease. They wanted to sell the land off to developers and could care less about the park. Only a small miracle saved the park the last time the lease was up. On the positive side, the park owners are looking for a new location in Utica, IL.

Let's see what I can do here African DawnA tradition Africa vocal group that transcends the language barrier with amazing music Bad Religion - One of the best punk bands of all time and still going strong Cherry Poppin' Daddies - A band defined as a swing band despite being a band of 4 different genres Dido - Her voice is amazing, enough said Eric Johnson - Amazing guitar player who deserves more mainstream success The Format - A band that got one song on MTV, which was not even close to their best stuff Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punk is something that sound suck but doesn't Hole - Were way better then any credit they got as a rock band Issac Hayes - Only person off the top of my head, but a decent singer Jill Tracey - Her voice is amazing and soothes the soul Klaus Nomi - He might have been the oddest musical act of the 80's but was a great New Wave act Ladytron - A fun electronic group The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - How they were a one hit wonder amazes me, such a fun band New Radicals - Only made a single album in 1996 but is my favorite album of all time Operation Ivy - Amazing punk band Paul Van Dyk - Worldwide he is one of the best know DJ's but basically unknown in US mainstream Queen - Add me as one of those that thinks they are miles better then most people think. Royal Crown Review - One of the bands of the late 90's Swing movement that is amazing Michael Franti and Spearhead - A fun jam-style band with a positive message Thin Lizzy - Deserves more respect than they got Ultravox A very good New Wave band of the 80's XTC - Not good at all, just only one I can think of Weird Al Yankovic - Seen as joke to many but he is a ultra fun artist Yellowcard - Also a one hit wonder who's best stuff was never heard Zack Attack - Yay Saved by the Bell -
Kiddieland park closed today in Melrose Park, IL. The place at noon had a line that went an entire side of the park and back to the front. There was still a line to get in at 4 with all 4 ticket windows open. Each ride had a 30-60 minute wait. People stood in lines to buy park shirts and cotton candy that was half as big as a child. I saw people in their 20's and up act like kids for the day. The relived their childhood, even if just for one day. Adults rode the new for 1939 Roto-Whip without a care in the world (or child.) I even saw a family of 4 generations that had been to the park as kids. Chicago and the amusement industry just lost a timeless park. Now the 3rd largest city in the United States has only Six Flags Great America for kids to go to amusement park wise. Families will not be able to continue the tradition of taking their kids for their first visit. People new to the area (like me) will not get to step back in time to a park time seems to have forgot. The reason for it all ending you ask? Family greed. One half the family wants to sell the land for a profit. The same family whose father built the park from nothing more than pony rides to what it is today. I hope they can sleep well at night, knowing they destroyed a tradition, both family and public, for a few extra bucks.

Vekoma Builds Big Air Coaster
monsterfan99 replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is hard to see, but if you look at the 2nd car in the picture of the front of the train you can see 2-4-4-2. In the front care it looks 2-3-3-2, but that might just be the angle of the photo. The ride looks like great fun and hopefully we can see this ride style come the the US. -

Anyone else prefer Vekoma SLC's?
monsterfan99 replied to jmccalip's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Simple - B:TR clones have never hurt me. SLC's can not say the same. -
^ That is what I would like to see. With Chang gone, the only rides left in the back of the park that are running are the Ferris Wheel, T2, Thunder Run, Blizzard River, Wooden Shoes, Carousel and Roller Skater. Turn Blizzard River into a water park attraction, move the smaller rides and they are set. Edit: Forgot about T2.
