  1. For the TPR members going tomorrow, everything in the park stores is half off. If you every wanted a Raging Bull class or Super Mario Chess, this is the weekend to get it.
  2. If you are doing only 2 days, the Gate price will be your cheapest. It will take 4-5 days worth of ticket to find them cheaper from a ticket brooker acording to the Unoffical Guides cheapest ticket finder. However, be sure to buy a 2 day ticket as there is a small savings over just a one day ticket ($166.14 for 2 days with tax over $84.14, so a $2.14 savings.) There is one other option and that is to go to a Mickey's Not So Scary Party at the Magic Kingdom. The ticket prices will be around 20-30 dollars cheaper then a regular day ticket ($55.38 in advance, $62.84 day of versus $84.14) and you can get in at 4 PM(I think that is the hour, might be 5) and stay until Midnight. So it would be 4 hours less then a regular day there, but also cheaper.
  3. Use the Lock.ers as they are right by both the entrance and exit. They are free for the amount of time the que is plus extra time (hour to 2 hours depending on line.)
  4. Will be something at SF STL on their closing day. This is unless I can some how swing a Nick Universe trip before the end of the year.
  5. The park hours should be up around January 1st. The special events for the time tend to be the same yearly unless someone like a new/refurbishment ride opens or a famous person appears at the parks. Refurbishments tend to be up put up on the web-site around a month before they go down. However, there is no real rule to this as Living with the Land went down without much notice in August. If possible, try for Pop Century. The bus lines should be shorter and the rooms nicer. Plus you save 1/2% on tax If you must stay at a All-Star, choose Sports. It is the first one for the buses to hit and first to drop off. However, when we were there in August, all 3 All Stars had their own buses running at opening and close. If you are going during Spring Break or Easter time period, the values will be swamped. We tried booking in November last year for a value only to see they were all booked. Also, if you family wants to make a dinner reservation at a harder to get into restaurant, the reservation window starts at 180 days out now.
  6. So I collect theme park pin (like lapel pins) and buy them on EBAY. Well, I fully expect the back card when I buy them if A) I ask them or B) the photo shows it. Low and behold, two of the Disney World pins I bought came today with out back cards. I wouldn't rant had I not asked them and the photo shown them. Now comes the fun of filing a paypal claim after the are refusing to accept a return. If you have never messed with a paypal claim, they take weeks to months to settle. All this because they wanted to see 2 pins for a combined 8 bucks shipped.
  7. Thanks for the DVD just for helping us users stay safer. The odd thing yesterday before the site went down all the way was when I tried to post a message. I would post, but after it was posted, it tried to send me to their site. Very odd it allowed me to post normally then tried to link me.
  8. You are not alone with Boo-berries. The only thing I can find of them anymore is the fruit by the foot style snack. It is truly sad to see this.
  9. While not retail, working in a library is the same thing without the cash. I worked in one for 3 years during college and ever semester it was the same. Someone would come in on Wednesday the week before finals and this would follow: Me: Hello, can I help you Them: Yes, can you use the books here(referring to the entire library)? Me: Yes, most can. Them: Ok then, I need a book. Me:ummm... is there a specific book you need? Them: You know, a book. Once we found them a book after 30 minutes of confusion, they would say something along the lines of "Wow, I never knew this library had books we could use."
  10. Best - 3 week trip in Orlando in August 09. Spent 13 days at WDW, 3 at Universal (including riding HRRR on it's second day,) and got to hit 4 others parks along the way (SFKK, SFOG, Beech Bend and Old Town.) There was rush the entire time except for SFOG in the morning. It was a nice relaxing pace. - My first ride on The Beast the night before Ride Warriors Weekend this last May. It was dark (no moon to be seen due to clouds) and pouring rain. The ride was ultra smooth and insane. I have never had a greater ride on any roller coaster before or since. Worst - Hurting my heal at SF Great America last October. My foot was hurting a small bit before I got there, but the day was only being used for photos of Mardi Gras area. I stepped wrong getting of King Chaos and hurt my ankle. After hobbling over to first aid (which there is no short cut and on the other side of the park) I told them the problem. I only wanted some ice and the guys response is "and? We can't do anything here, we don't have an X-Ray machine." All I asked for was ice and got yelled at. I e-mailed guest services and never got a response. - Kiddieland closing day. Not only was it a sad day, but parents were encoring their kids to cut lines. Even worse was the parents that chose not tell their kids the rides would be closing during the day, only for the kids to find out without a last ride.
  11. To go with Robb's point at about roller coaster simulators, why were they even built to begin with? There is no real way to do a proper simulation for the G's unless you build a Mission:SPACE style ride. The idea of a jet fighter, Soarin' or even Star Tours is to simulate something very few people can do. The idea of simulation an amusement park ride when, except for a few states, you are no more then a few hours from one.
  12. ^ My first ride on The Beast was at night during a downpour this spring. It was the single greatest ride I have ever had on a roller coaster and I am not being sarcastic. Words can not describe the insanity of it being pitch black, having no clue what is coming and rain flying in your face. The worst weather we have done anything in was high 30's/low 40's at SF STL last November. It got to the point where Tony Hawk's Big Spin valleyed. The Boss and Ninja were also closed due to the weather. But it was a fun day due to there being less then 500 people in the park. The longest wait the entire day was 1 cycle of front row on Screamin' Eagle. If you get lucky, bad weather days are the perfect days to go. A short, heavy rain or cold weather will clear out the park. It turns into a day long ERT at the park.
  13. While not a bad day, the last day of Kiddieland left a bad taste in my mouth from the parents of kids. The day ended up being parents encouraging their kids to cut lines, push people out of the way and steal seats on rides. It got to the point that I was stunned when a parent actually told their kids to wait for the people in front of them. It was not the parks fault, just put a damper on the day.
  14. This can only mean good things for the parks to not be in limbo. The one thing it makes me wonder is if there will be in changes in the annual passes. It would be wonderful to combine the Universal Parks with Sea World and Busch Gardens in FL on one annual pass.
  15. Here are my predictions - Yankees in 3 - The Twins are sending a rookie to with 9 starts as the starter for game one, no Morneau and the Twins have yet to be them this year. No more really needs to be said there. - Angels in 5 - The bench will win the series for the Angels. Plus the Angels are the only hope for a non Red Sox/Yankees series - Cardinals in 3 - They have the best hitter in the game and 2 players fighting for the Cy Young. Add to that John Smoltz might be used out of the pen. - Rockies in 5 - I just like the Rockies pitching staff on a whole better and the Phillies have no closer.
  16. Someone want to explain to me why the Twins vs. Yankees series starts Wednesday but the Red Sox vs Angels series starts Thursday? You would figure the Twins would at least get a travel day, but guess MLB could care less. Everyone knows they want a Red Sox vs Yankees ALCS

    WDW October

The only problem with Disney buses is if you are at a resort that shares with a few other resorts. Saratoga Springs and Animal Kingdom Lodge loops are the ones that come to mind with waits being upwards of 45 minutes. For the values, they are outstanding for being a free bus service. Our longest wait was maybe 10 minutes to go back to All Star Sports from the Magic Kingdom.
  18. ^ To add to that from our use in August: - Superman was choice of any row - Goliath was choice as well - GA Cyclone was choice - Canyon Blaster was choice before anyone else gets to pick a seat. This is about the only way to get the row of your choice besides dumb luck. - Mine Train was also choice, but it is a mess once in the station if crowed

    WDW October

^ As an FYI, if you want a decent sit-down restaurant at that time, get and ADR (advance dinning reservation) now. Free dinning has been swamping the sit-downs even during the slower season this year. I was looking into a trip for this month and a lot of sit-down places were booked in August. There are many WDW trip reports about families not finding a restaurant to eat at with their free dinning, so just a word of warning. If you have not booked a hotel and want to stay off-site, the Super 8 on W. Irlo Bronson in Kissimmee is great for the price. Recently re-done rooms and the management is great. We stayed there for 2 weeks and actually like it better then All Star Sports for half the price. It was around 35 with tax a night. But it is a place you need a rental car, so stay on site if you do not have one. And finally HAVE A GREAT TIME!
  20. I am ultra glad and thankful Season 3 is coming. The things in this thread are part of an amusement history that is rarely seen.
  21. I will be there Fri-Mon at some point each day. Should be there all night Friday, gone by 5 pm on the weekend and there all day Monday. I'm trying to get all my Fright Fest photos done this weekend before the crowds really pick-up.
  22. ^ For a season passholder, it is not bad at all. You get everything except the 2 large houses with the price you already paid for your pass. If done before 5 you can do both houses for $5 each i believe. Plus they do not do it like the very large parks in turning the night into a hard ticket only event. The part I do love about SF Great America is how it is still fun for those that do not like haunts. I hate haunts, but get other people love them. So it allows me to enjoy the rides and see Halloween stuff without having to deal with people jumping out at me every 5 feet. So it allows everyone from little kids to those that live to be scared to have a nice day at the park.
  23. There would be no need for ACE other than cake What is the "that" that Meatloaf won't do for love?
  24. Not haunted at all, just a nice lap around the park. It is round trip only from the station in the back of the park (forget the name.)
  25. Not sure, depends on who you ask Who is YOUR American Idol?
