  1. Adam Woltermann Does this mean I have to challenge him to a joust to protect my ridewarrior "honor?" I love when people think a myspace page in tribute will mean anything for the rides future
  2. I see the point of a Broadway style show as something for Seniors/non-riders. By making a high quality show, it can have non-riders talk about how the park has something for everyone. I only bring this up from people my grandparents know. The group go to Dollywood and Silver Dollar City every year just for shows. It can work for some people.
  3. ^With that, we ridewarriors can take down the rest of crappy CF wooden coasters. Mean Streak and SOB, look out.
  4. ^My fiancee did not get it and I normally get 3-4 e-mails per offer, but not this one. One other interesting from the e-mail is it seems Funatics is becoming a national program, except for SFKK.
  5. I got an e-mail for this offer too. Here was the fine print It is valid if you buy your ticket online via e-mail link.
  6. The original Day the Earth Stood Still on Blu-Ray to replace my broken DVD - $9.99 plus tax.
  7. I'm simply stunned the rate is only 66.7% for the states.
  8. Just wanted to let you know HoliWood Nights is the first weekend in June this year.
  9. A bunch of pins and postcards from Dorney Park - $41.58 shipped
  10. Right now the biggest trip is the move to Orlando!!! Other trips include Baseball and Roller Coaster trip including -Holiwood Nights at Holiday World -SF STL -STL Cardinals Game -Silver Dollar City - Worlds of Fun - Tour of Royals park and the Negro League HoF - The parks of Nebraska - Arnold's Park - Possibly a game at the new Twins stadium All the parks of the WI Dells 3-4 trips to central FL before moving
  11. This is why I am thinking Chang will stay. SF STL has more land to store the ride and is closer to SFKK. Heck, if it was only a place holder for a year or so, they could have stored the ride in closed Twisted Twins/Mile High Falls area(they do have entire cars in there for storage right now under the coaster track.) Moving it to the park furthest from any other park just makes no seance at all if only to use it as a place holder.
  12. A fun fact about the park getting The Little Dipper. It will be both the most recent ride installed, but now the park's oldest. Kind of odd it can be both the newest and oldest at the same time.
  13. One thing not mentioned, but I hope they keep the old ride sign/lights. It simply looked great at night and would look amazing in the park as a throwback to older days.
  14. ^It is the job of the PR department to build up the park. Even if it is the worst park in the world (which it is not) you would bill it as the best. It's PR 101.
  15. My Steel Top 10 1. Diamondback 2. Favorite Wood Coaster (Evel Knivel) 3. Montu 4. Maverick 5. Goliath - SFOG 6. Raptor 7. Mindbender - SFOG 8. Dueling Dragons-Ice 9. Dueling Dragons-Fire 10. Kumba And the bottom 5 (worst at bottom) 5. River King Mine Train 4. Firehawk 3. Fav Windstorm (at Old Town) 2. Iron Wolf 1. Dragon - Adventureland
  16. A better question is does it even matter if it is an ACE Coaster Classic?
  17. This park just did a wonderful service to not only coaster enthusiast but the Chicago area. One of the biggest thing I heard closing weekend was people wanting to see the Little Dipper and Carousel saved. Both of them staying in the area is wonderful news. Even better, the park will get the ride for under 100k total put in. Honestly, there is a bunch of room in the Bugs Bunny National Park area if the ball area or play area near the entrance is taken down. I do agree with Elissa that the ride should be placed outside of the kiddie ride areas. All three kids areas are already by each other as it is in one corner of the park.
  18. At SFOG, I rented the regular Q-Bot and the time were way off. As in Mindbender was around a hour wait (we waited in the line) and the q-bot time was 2 hours plus before we got in the line and 3 hours after we rode. So I asked to speak to a manager. They told me every have employees that walk the park and call in the time every 20-30 minutes. Now they could have been BSing me to get me out of the building, but it is what they told me. If that is the case, of them walking by the ride, there is no way a time board would work. They were already inflating the wait times as it was on a product that cost. I could only imagine the times listed on a wait board.
  19. ^ While not the signs screw into the que, SF Great America does use signs with "wait times" outside the ride entrance, They say <15 min, 30 min, 45 min or 60 min plus. The biggest problem is near opening when, lets say, Superman's sign says 15 minutes, yet the que is near full. The same can go in the other direction where I've seen The Dark Knight listed as a 60 minute plus wait, yet it was walk-on (and there was no recent break down either.)
  20. Easily my favorite ride sign. I just love the theme of the ride.
  21. WDW in March while looking for an apartment in the Orlando area.
  22. Nothing says "we are a strong company" like trying to force a company into an arrangement. Whatever Danny Rogers takes to get these "visions" is some strong stuff.
  23. I will say, at SF Great America it was nice to see they put a giant board by the entrance on if the ride is open. It is a step in the right direction.
  24. Best The Beast - The enclosed helix is amazing Evel Knievel - Three bunny hills of airtime joy Raging Bull - The figure 8 with a good amount of force Worst Adventure Express - I imagine the planning mean for the ride went something like this "We have the rider go the entire ride with no theme and then BAM a theme lift hill ending to the station." Shivering Timbers - I hated the helix of death at the end of the ride
