  1. In August when we went, there was a massive rain storm that closed everything for 2 hours. Even then, there was a 30 minute wait for Dumbo well over an hour before the ride opened. You would just see one parent standing there and looking like they were thinking "I am in line for this!?!"
  2. Bringing in money means nothing if you have an awful profit margin. So bringing in the cash does not mean much when you to hire more employees, more major rides to fix/refurb and get a new coaster every or two. So SF Great America is the most profitable park. And for where we know this from http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=296367
  3. ^ My thing is the park, when building a ride, needs one with a large capacity. During the summer, lines here rival that of any other park I've been to, including WDW (excluding Soarin'.) Right now Hurricane Harbor has got to get something to increase capacity there. The more people they can fit in there, the less in the theme park. Then, once that is done, maybe add in a new ride.
  4. John Cena w/ Taylor Swift vs Kanye West at Wrestlemania 26. Book It!!!
  5. No, but I do tend to find a lot of random $10 and $20 dollar bills at the SF Great America parking lot. Have you even been to Michigan's Adventure?
  6. Vekoma even if just for awful the SLC. The two at MI Adventure and SFKK just hurt...a lot. I also find their flying coaster to just suck.
  7. Nope as I am not even sure I have watched TV this month. Do you know Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
  8. I got the last Dark Knight coaster pin the workers of SF Great America could find.
  9. Not sure if it is the same as my examples but for American Eagle the backwards trains just torn apart the track. There is a big difference in the roughness on the side that used to go backwards (Blue) over the other side. With the Racer, Don (the PR guy for the park) told us the insurance companies put a stop to Cedar Fair doing it. Now if that is the case at all the parks or not, I have no idea.
  10. Don't expect the Night at the Park to last. The city is angry over it as the owner broke city law to do it. Apparently he did not ask permission to be open that late and just did the event anyways. Fun report on the park. I hope to get out there next spring.
  11. Not really a yes or no question, but my dream car is a free one Do you use or own anything that uses D batteries?
  12. ^ I've learned to understand what the hell whinny teen girls are saying at restaraunts. < Trying to decide if I should make a day trip to MI Adventure today V Trying to decide if they can still wear white after Labor Day
  13. I love SF STL, but was shocked to see how much love it got on the polls. Once again, I feel that ACE having a regional event there the day after the national conference (which was 3-4 hours away) helped the park. That is not me attacking ACE, just trying to use logic. Evel Kneival is ranked around where it is ranked here on other polls. In Mitch Hawker's poll it is 15 and ranked 16 on CoasterFanatics rankings. So 13 is not a big stretch there.
  14. With 2 defunct coasters on their list, I fully expect Big Bad Wolf to place around 15th next year.
  15. Not at all, I am not a fan of paying to have things jump out at me. Do you like chicken wings?
  16. I was thinking the same thing as well. Until I remember the ACE annual conference was at Worlds of Fun. So there might have been a great number of voters who rode that ride only on the new ride list. It is the only thing I can thing of as I have not heard much about the ride period.
  17. My favorite rank is Ozark Wildcat. It has not ran since October of last year and is still the #36 best wooden coaster of 2009. No real sunrises to me other then maybe Prowler beating out Diamondback and Manta.
  18. ^ Using whatever SFMM will get next year may not be the best example is they get a Tony Hawk clone.
  19. Yes, Pearl Harbor when it was in theaters because people thought it was good. Do you own a dry erase board?
  20. Three parks for me fall in the over-rated list. Cedar Point - I enjoyed the park and had a great time there. Is it the best theme park in the world? I'm not even sure I'd call it the best theme park in Ohio as I loved Kings Island. SF Great America - I like the park and it is my home park, but it seems like they could do so much better with it. They have made some bad ride decisions recently and now enjoy plastering ads everywhere. But they have no competition within 3 hours, so not like they need to try. Islands of Adventure - The park looks great but there is not much to do there. If you have no interest in doing water rides, that takes out a good chunk of the rides. Hopefully WWoHP will fix a lot of those problems. Even though I feel those parks are over-rated, I still enjoyed the parks. Outside of the hellhole that is Como Town/Como Zoo, I enjoy all my park visits.
  21. ^ When a political party is dying and their only way to stay afloat is to attack a president, that is when the whole issue happens. (The following rant is directed at everyone, not just one political party as all sides are guilty.) Also, letting kids form an opinion is a dying idea. In public schools, some kids have uniforms, are told standard test are what matters and get no real education. And people wonder why a kid gets to college and has no idea how to write a paper or think on their own. Parents are too lazy and/or stupid to help their kids. Even worse, they blame the teachers, because god knows they are out to get their kid. Mean while the parents, who should have no been allowed to even think of having a kid, have pleanty of time to sit at home and watch TV. But that's ok, the fact they were no loved as a child is why they have 6 kids and live in a F'n suburb where there is no need to have more then 2 kids. It is a sad sight and even worse for the teachers who still give a damn about teaching the kids. Hell, some schools are starting to lower teacher pay, then give them bonuses based on how their kids do on government test. Way to go America. The public wants low taxes, statical results and everything now. You have sold the future of anyone under 25 away for a few toys and a good feeling. But that's ok, the little bastards are too drugged up on "be quiet and pay attention" medication to notice.
  22. ^ I do enjoy pasta < Hoping it won't rain Saturday night around Cedar Point V Is hoping for Purple Rain
  23. Robb was on the show last night, so he is not banned.
  24. Yes, I've never got the interest in college sports from 40 year old men who never went to college. Do you like Mr. Potato Head?
