Worst Coaster Ever?
monsterfan99 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For wooden coasters it goes to Mean Streak at Cedar Point. The ride in the back is one of the most painful rides I've ever been on. For steel, it is T2 at SF Kentucky Kingdom. It is the only ride I have ever got angry and punched after riding. -

The problem with SF Great America's coasters(if you can call it a problem) is they were innovative when they were built. Think of this Batman: The Ride - 1st Inverted ride to go upside down Raging Bull - 1st Hyper Twister V2 - 2nd twisted Impulse ride in the US Superman - 3rd flying coaster in the world, 2nd in US American Eagle - 2nd Intamin coaster, first for adults (also the tallest when it opened) The other problem is most of the other rides are clones or built close to an existing ride. Within the enthusiast circles it hurts the park simple because the park has a lot of rides that are the same as others or have been done better since they opened. None of this really matters to the general public anyways. They love the rides and have every reason to. Outside of Iron Wolf, the coasters are low on the pain scale. Plus they are the only big coasters for hours, so people take what they can get. It still is a nice park. Could some improvements be made? Yes, but the same can be said of every park. Are there many worse parks then SF Great America? You bet and I'm glad to have this park over them.

Starting a foreign language (Spanish) in college. I took the 6 week class for the first part and a full semester for the 2nd. I was so, so happy to see a C in the 2nd part.

I still do not see this ride fitting in the SWF/Great America Raceway area. This is even if they remove Dare Devil Dive to the front of the park. Plus you have to worry about the train track. The same goes for the Iron Wolf area. This would require the removal of Camp Cartoon as well and maybe the train station. Now I could see this going where Whizzer is or the Space Shuttle America/go karts area. Whichever of the two area's does not get Chang would get a waterpark expansion.

^ The only way moving Chang to SF Great America makes scene is if this happens 1. Chang becomes another Bizzaro and gets floorless trains 2. Chang's trains go on Iron Wolf, which desperately needs the right trains. Outside of that, there is no reason for it to come to Great America as another stand-up. This does suck for SF Kentucky Kingdom. You have to wonder how much time is left for the amusement part of the park?

The park is only open this Friday for Six Flags (all Six Flags parks) season passholders and their guest that use the coupon book coupon to get in. Outside of that, the only other thing is the discounts. They are having $7 photos(on-ride and in the park) and 30% everything in the stores. I think there is one more for food, but I can not remember it right now.

I wonder how much Jay Leno paid Kanye to do the stunt -
Easy 1) They have a bunch of parks to compete with. Within 150 miles you have Disney, Legoland, Knotts, Sea World and Universal. Thus the park has to convince people to go to their park over the other major theme parks. 2) The park is still trying to recover from the bad press over the years. This includes gangs, the park closing rumor and other not PR friendly items. Things of this nature stick in people's heads for years if not decades. 3)They are trying to compete with a park on the other side of the country for who has the most roller coasters. This one is due to a stupid PR/marketing department and the male ego. SF Great America is a park next to the 3rd largest city. The only other parks within 4 hours(driving the speed limit) of the city are Kiddieland (which closes a week from Sunday) and Indiana Beach (which is in the middle of nowhere) and some family fun centers. The park really does have a license to print money if done right.
