  1. Doesn't Vekoma have a patent on this ?
  2. www.flickr.com Anyway, nice TR. I'll definately visit that park one day. And Gold Reef as well, but train your muscles first. If you can lift a 12.5kg gold bar with your thumb and index finger, it's yours.
  3. What a view: Fun fact: the one at Châtel (Switzerland) is within 5 miles of the Bolliger & Mabillard HQ.
  4. You know, der Üntergang of the German park started with a bold coaster and a tower as well. I don't like this at all. The park had a nice entrance area, with the more thrilling rides at the back. Now it's becoming Blackpool. Hopefully the park's next ride will be a heavily themed dark ride or river rapids. Or a combination.
  5. Wow, those are some great photos. And Mystery Mine is coming together nicely.
  6. Why the concrete ? Because it's easier. Standalone footers would take too much work (and time and money)...and they would be right next to each other anyway. So why bother ? Just pour one huge footer for all the supports. Look at Renegade: See ?
  7. Still the old restraints huh ? I would have expected the newer "seatbelt" system Intamin is testing on their Ball Coaster (ZacSpin) at the moment. Oh well, maybe Port Aventura or Heide-Park will have them. right: no actual shoulder-restraints, but something ressembling racing seatbelts
  8. For those who really don't know...the man on the left is Walter Bolliger:
  9. Mack & Warner Bros. Movie World (Australia) made a combination of a dark ride and wild mouse coaster, themed to the ride in the movie. Hence, the identical design of the cars. http://www.rcdb.com/ig1652.htm
  10. People talk about them...which is good.
  11. Congratulations.
  12. Uh no. Maybe if you're very unlucky. But I was referring to you flying to the USA yourself and taking one with you on the plane. The PSP is, just like the PS3, made for 100-240V. You don't need a converter...only a cable with an English plug.
  13. No insane price drops or discounts here.
  14. Vekoma are not copying anyone, but themselves. Why is it so "shocking" that they use that same track on a launched or inverted family coaster ? They've used the very same track on non-launched or non-inverted family coasters many times in the past. http://www.rcdb.com/id1460.htm 1985 mouse http://www.rcdb.com/id915.htm 1987 suspended http://www.rcdb.com/id2215.htm 1988 family etc.
  15. ^ Don't forget the US uses 110V power. You definately need a voltage converter for the Wii and probably for the PS3 as well. I'm not sure about the PS3 though, as the Japanese version does work on 240V. And wouldn't you get taxed at the customs ? It would be easier and cheaper to buy one from the scalpers on eBay. Regarding Gears of War...Killzone 2 should be a good rival.
  16. Both Google Maps / Earth and Windows Live Local have their advantages...Google works faster I think, has more European stuff...yet Live Local has the bird's eye photos of some locations. Go see Cedar Point for example, or Islands of Adventure...or the Hollywood Universal Studios.
  17. Not only an Eurofighter, but a freefall tower, rapid river and giant wheel as well !
  18. If the track's white to you, then what color are the supports ? Ultramegawhite ?
  19. I don't think it's a mission impossible to get a few rides on this thing, once it's built.
  20. Now even a video: http://rapidshare.com/files/2053744/cccend.rar.html onride.de A lonely looping...
  21. And more... http://www.onride.de/viewtopic.php?t=29821&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=285&sid=07ec72999bb59852d22425103537cf00&5369 ...and now not anymore. Lifthills standing... Loops visible.
  22. It's not the actual force that matters, but the duration. I can guarantee you that 3 seconds of 3G in a helix will feel alot worse than 0.2 seconds of 5G at the bottom of a drop.
  23. Along with all the B&M's and woodie couches, Pinfari's Xpress inverted is véry comfortable as well. Batcoaster
