  1. G'sengte Sau a bit easier to English-speakers: Anyway, it's a great ride btw, ultra smooth too. And it was featured in "Wetten Dass?!" (hence the sign just before the first helix), a German show in which people come and say "wanna bet ?" (wetten dass ?) that they can do something special, unique, amazing. Well, one time, a guy rode this coaster without a car / train: Looks dangerous ? Well, it is. In fact, the guy broke his back during a test run. But he survived and managed to win his bet months later, by completing the entire course while holding a glass of beer. I think that was his bet. Something in the lines of "Wanna bet I can complete the course on roller skates while holding a full glass of beer, not spilling it during the ride." It was full when he left the station and still was at the end of the ride. He won and it's still one of the most amazing stunts featured on the show. Amazing!
  2. Great updates ! Have fun in Germany & The Netherlands ! I look forward to the Troy reports, that thing is a beast.
  3. Drunk monkeys. peep1: Silver River Flume is really good value. peep2: I want to get off Silver River Flume. peep3: Great scenery! peep4: I need to go to the toilet. peep5: I feel sick.
  4. Toverland has one as well. Klotten no idea, but I can't see why not. Also, you pretty much only need cash for smaller shops and food carts. Most parks allow you to pay for tickets with credit card. Same in restaurants and hotels. Another thing, forget the tips. Americans are used to giving 20 or more percent as a tip, but in Europe, waiters are paid a salary. A little something extra is nice and appreciated, but it doesn't have to be 20 percent. You'll be paying that in taxes already... It's a good way to reduce your expenses a little...
  5. Are these original blueprints (white on blue) or just photocopies ? If photocopies, can't you Xerox them and send everyone a copy ? Please PM with pics and/or prices.
  6. What ? 9ft. should be slightly above Nick's (Nick = guy above, park owner) hands. And the walls are ALOT higher than that: Definitely high enough.
  7. Yes, ignore the bastards, or even better, ban them ! The updates are great ! Keep 'em coming.
  8. Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
  9. Claire Haines ---> Clair Hain GCII -------------> GCI Thunderbird ----> Thunderhead Write it down.
  10. "Les goûts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas."
  11. That's a very gimmicky building. Is it suppose to look like something ? Is there a story behind it's shape and lines ?
  12. I read somewhere the original design was good for rides like Superman, but it got damaged (dented) by the twistyness of Expedition GeForce. So they came up with a new design, more suited for tight twists & turns.
  13. I rode it today. It's extreme ! Coaster Joe said "Fun and fast opening sequence but then things really start to get crazy." and boy was he right. The first half of the ride is awesome as well, but the second half is just extreme. From the moment you exit the station flythrough, you're either pushed down, pulled up or smacked against the sides of the seat. There's not a single breathing point anymore until you hit the brakes. It's amazing how much speed is in this section. Maybe a little too much even. It's so violent, it's crazy. Always smooth, but it's soooo out-of-control and wild ! Congratulations to GCI and Toverland for this monster ride.
  14. I look forward seeing these coasters behave in Dubai's 130 degrees F summer temperatures.
  15. He's a robot, lol. 10 hours sure is alot, I probably wouldn't last 10 rides...
  16. North America = continent Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Greenland, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Montserrat, Navassa Island, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, United States of America, U.S. Virgin Islands Northern America = UN region Bermuda, Canada, Greenland, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, United States of America Anyway, La Ronde looks so chaotic too. The wild west village looks so cartoony, Scooby-Doo colors.
  17. Some seasons are worse than others. 2007 certainly isn't a very good one. I don't remember many lethal (or horrible) rider accidents from the past decade. Usually gardeners and mechanics are the victims. Worst accident ever has got to be the Mindbender crash at Edmonton. Three deaths after a car partially derailed, hit a couple of pilars and finally came to a halt against a concrete footer.
  18. Those are as rough as any other Vekoma. It's just that the slow speed and the lapbars make you think otherwise. Park maintenance and rain help alot too. An SLC, right after a refurbishment and a rain shower is a whole different ride.
  19. It was great, but today, Robin Hood is one of the roughest wooden coasters in existence. It aged terribly.
  20. Looks fast enough to me. As said before, these are the very first runs, and without any ballast. It looks marvellous, sounds heavenly. Can't wait to ride it.
  21. Doesn't look very original, but I'm sure it'll be a great ride. Good to see more prefab woodies.
  22. Those are awesome, great find !
