After tonight, I'd say the team to beat in the ACC is Miami. So glad we have them at home, can't wait to see the Jackets kill them for revenge from last year

This entire coaster - from footers, to track, to electronics - can be put together within the span of several weeks. With the scheduled opening day 9 months away, I wouldn't be surprised if the track hasn't even been fabricated at this time, yet alone shipped across the Atlantic and ready to sit in the park's parking lot.

^ Like all this site needed was another shit-talking canes fan! Let's talk at the end of the year - maybe J12 can keep his INTs in the single digits

Park Attendance
ParkTrips replied to BrownStreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Be warned! I believe the cliche I'm looking for to describe these attendance figures is that these "have to be taken with a grain of salt" - most of the numbers are purely estimates. Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Disney and pretty much every other park doesn't release an official number on a park-by-park basis. The only park I know off the top of my head that releases and exact attendance figure has been Holiday World (kudos to them, since they are obviously very proud of their achievements and have every reason to be proud!). Occasionally, individual park numbers come out randomly, but again, unless its the park publicly announcing it, I'd be skeptical. The big chains only announce attendance figures on a quarterly and annual basis across the chain. Oh, and it was Amusement Business who used to release a much longer list of parks (top 50 in North America, and top 50 world wide) but they are no more. I'm sure that is what you are thinking of -
Robb, don't forget that they even dropped the price to $3 per ride! (it was $5 several years ago) Again... I don't mind "saving" a successful park. If Knoebels, or Indiana Beach, or even a bigger independent park like Holiday World was going to suddenly close, I say do what you can to save them.. but CONNEAUT LAKE PARK IS DOOMED TO FAIL!!! It has done so OVER AND OVER AGAIN! (and my "coaster wasn't very good" comment may be subjective, BUT, it doesn't exactly rank high in Mitch's poll, and I meant more or less the ride doesn't strike me one as worthy of garnering national attention in an effort to save it)

I really don't understand why it is so important to people all across the country for the park to stay open. It's small, kinda scummy, in the middle of nowhere (Waldameer is only, what, 45-60mins away if you're so worried about the locals not having a park), and the coaster isn't very good. How many times has the park needed to get money to reopen? How many lenders are still owed money by the park? Market economics has spoken: the park should have died long ago. The refresh project is just the latest to succumb to CLP.. but, it's Pepsi, so them losing money is ok by me My favorite part of the entire park!

You must have been sleeping during this years draft

^ Cool! Much cooler than just selling your tickets ah, reliving the glory years I see. How many of those clips came from the ACC years where Miami has only won 50% of their games? For a real badass, look at Tech's quarterback

yeah. I mean, physics is physics anywhere, for example - it doesn't change. But there is something to be said about how rigorous an institution can be compared to others. Of course, that will only help land you a first job, and your experience counts more from there on. I'd also wager that Case has a pretty solid network of successful graduates that could really help landing a job, since knowing people can often provide a better path. The one thing I'd have the most difficulty with is the absurd cost of tuition at some private schools vs a local state school. I'm really not sure I'd want to start out adult life with a $100k+ debt - that's a lot of money that could be used for a house/car/beer/etc

Mystery USA GCI Project?
ParkTrips replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
LOL yesssssss -
It varies by institution. Looks like Drexel requires either one, and you're at the bottom of their average student pool. Study up on the math, if you're going for engineering or nursing, there is no reason you shouldn't get a 700+ on your math portion. Its not so much about knowing math (its really very basic math), but being familiar with the questions they ask If you're thinking that taking one or the other may help you, you may have your goals set a bit too high. If Drexel doesn't work out, I hear South Florida is a good option

That's actually a good point - look at how Deja Vu worked out for Six Flags -

I loved this park! I wasn't too crazy about the whole Nick takeover, but it seems to be done ok and they have a lot more rides then when I was last up there in 05 Thanks for posting the Leslie Hall video too. I didn't know who she was, I just figured she was some sort of Yo Gabba gabba figure, not some 40-something who is high on PCP all the time -
RCT4?
ParkTrips replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I would only want an undo button in the custom park templates, not in the scenarios - parks cant just undo Son of Beast, Dinosaur, the entire HRP (etc) without some sort of consequence -
http://abcnews.go.com/US/michelle-fonville-charged-extra-georgia-salon-shes-fat/story?id=11461062 Awesome! Anything to save us skinny folks some money! They should take this further - restaurants and bars charging more for extra wear on furniture, governments charging more vehicle taxes for the extra wear on the roads, grocery stores who have to have the scooters for the fat people etc etc

Just because... First off, build myself a house here in town. 3 bedrooms, 4 baths, 6 car garage (one of those hidden driveway lifts would be sweet!). Climate-controlled cellar, pool, and, to make things really fun in the summer, a rooftop terrace above the garage. Cars to fill the garage: Audi RS5, Ferrari 612, Rolls Phantom ("I could drive but a boss get driven"), Aston Martin DB9 Ball out in Vegas. Do the fantasy suite thing. Get f'd up Hangover-style. Tip strippers with stacks. Live it up big. Buy a couple key pieces of real estate: nothing crazy, but condos in San Diego, the Alps, and somewhere in the islands (Aruba would be ideal, since its out of hurricane danger) Finally: retire, and spend much of life traveling and doing crazy crap. Of course, I'd have to invest a large sum of it to be able to sustain this lifestyle for the rest of my life Oh yeah, buy Olympia Looping with Baarth sells it after this year

RCT4?
ParkTrips replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
yeah, I always kind of thought this was a fault with the game - if you look at coaster sites when it first came out, there was a TON of ranting because people's computers weren't up to the required spec, or they barely met them and the game experience wasn't as fun. People were already pissed at the game before they even got a chance to load it. Hell, my mom got a new computer in December 2004 (just after the game was released), and even though it was a pretty decent machine for the time, it wouldn't run RCT3. I was lucky enough to have a school that mandated a top of the line computer, and both my laptop and desktop had ATI cards in them. I never had a problem, and found it to be just as fun -

ParkTrips replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
you know, as much as you guys complain about RCT3, its still rated very well across the board - sometimes much better than the original or RCT2. -
way to insult, what, 99% of the Visionland patrons? I'm with Scott on this one. I mean, he didn't even make his first shot (though, admittedly, at least they didn't edit the video to make it seem like he did) btw, Foxy, you were being picked on because psychology played no factor in the shot. Maybe the word you were looking for is physics

Cut out any cokes you may be drinking, and replace with water. 10 calories per fluid ounce in a coke, 0 in a glass of water. I did this a few years ago when I was drinking a case a week, and lost 40 pounds in 6 months without really working out much. If you don't drink that much coke, well, then I guess that won't work. Bring your caloric intake down to 2000-2500... its amazing how many calories we can rack up on fried and fatty foods You probably could cut out beer, but I could never consciously recommend that.
