lol. Congrats, your team is hot. I'll let you know how I feel after this week, with the Rangers and Rays on the schedule. They just took 2 of 3 on the road from the best team in baseball, without their ace on the mound, so I'm hoping this is the start of a playoff push.

Hey now - don't give us former LL umps a bad name. I've always said that if a casual fan knows your name (see Hernandez, West), its probably not a good thing. Never heard of that team, they must suck

^ why wake up early to watch a team play itself when we can watch a real game?

College Conference Realignment
ParkTrips replied to themeparkman25's topic in Random, Random, Random
At the same time, that would mean their respective rivalry games are conference games, opening up a schedule spot for another game (which, for both UGA and UF, probably means an easy win at home) We can speculate all day, which is all that's been going on down here, but in the end I'm not sure if the SEC will do anything. -
I've never had a "famous" stadium food that wasn't overrated. Guess who the players' favorite umpire is? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5281467

How does the other coaster compare to Heisse Fahrt? I LOVED Heisse Fahrt, but looked up Drachenritt and it's rated almost a full 200 spots lower on Mitch's poll.. what gives? -
College Conference Realignment

I think I'm hoping the Big Ten expands now more than ever after seeing VT and Miami both say they aren't interested in leaving the ACC - IF the SEC feels they need to expand to 16, that would pretty much leave GT and Clemson as the most likely candidates out of the ACC (with former Big XII teams also being options) PLEASE!!! -
To us, it's a tie. To them, it's a loss. I'll take it Now hopefully the US can manage to avoid an upset and make it out of group play.

College Conference Realignment

I just know Scott has said he wished Miami joined the SEC instead of the ACC. The whole realignment buzz has been the main talk this off season down here. All kinds of fun speculation and discussion. Most everyone seems to think the SEC won't do anything unless the Pac 10 and Big Ten expand past 12, so I'm trying not to get excited about the prospect of going back to the SEC I read a suggestion that when Nebraska and Colorado leave, the Big XII could jump on TCU and another school to maintain their 12... that could open space for Boise St in the MWC, and they could really use upgraded football competition (wasn't there a reason they won't go to the Pac 10?). -

I doubt this will happen - the ACC still wants to be a football conference, that's where the money comes from. edit: I see what you're saying, like UNC and Duke. Still, I think the Big East would have to slim down some first, since they already have something like 40 teams (ok so its 16) oh, and how much longer are we going to let these people believe that Nebraska State 1. is in the Big XII, and 2. even exists.. Will you be happy if the U goes to the SEC as a part of a 16 team mega conference? -

Nolan Ryan was 19 when he made his ML debut, and ended up pitching more than 25 years, and he threw just as hard as Strasburg. The difference is that pitchers weren't treated like babies back then, when I would think that, with today's training and conditioning, he has a better chance of doing what Ryan did.

I'm probably talking to deaf ears here, but does anyone have any thoughts on the Drake album? I've listened to it a few times over the past few days and can't help but love the production, but Drake's lyrics ranged from good to weak, nothing outstanding nor anything dismal. That's pretty much par for the course for Drake, and I think I was one of many who were expecting his best only to be disappointed, huh? If you like Drake the rapper, this definitely isn't the album for you, its more about Drake the singer.. then again if you like Drake as a rapper wtf is up with you Janelle Monae is awesome, glad to see her mentioned here!

Strasburg was sick. The Marlins also had a hyped rookie debut tonight and do rather well, however, they need relief pitching more than another bat, so yet another loss... its way too early in the year for me to have such a bleak outlook as I do now. I saw them with another 85-90 win season, but now, 75 may be pushing it =/ Halladay vs Josh Johnson again tomorrow, hopefully the fish can get a few hits this time and give JJ a win!

They say they made the battery larger, but did they make it removable? I know people who've said that is the only real downside to the phone, except for maybe the AT&T service -
True that! You know these guys always want to be the guy to break up a no-hitter *legitimately*, so kudos to him for hustling and almost doing so

cause no pitchers have ever used PEDs I say don't over turn the call. Sorry. Blown calls are part of baseball, it was a bang-bang judgment play. It happens, and has for years. The kid knows what he did, and I really don't want to ever see replay used for balls/strikes, and safe/out. I would probably be ok with fair/foul being under video scrutiny Really, really bad call though. If I can't get 5th down back, this kid can't have his perfect game

Saying no to a client is tough, which is why I think they can say "sure, PKD, we'll give you what you want, but if that doesn't work, we have a backup for you" I'm not blaming anyone, I just think its funny when people get all mad at Intamin, and don't want to think that maybe Intamin delivered exactly what the park asked for - with eyes bigger than their stomach, so to say.. devil's advocate and such -

I just like how the park put a sticker over the top speed and it now says "very fast!" - can't say that's false advertisement! -

I think the engineer's probably did quite fine. Could it be a marketing dept fail instead? Maybe your home park went to Intamin and asked for a 300ft/90+mph ride, and didn't really think it through too much (for whatever reason it was trimmed, stress on the riders, maintenance, whatever) I imagine the "plan B" that is the trims was in the plans all along - much like how they change out all sorts of wheels when testing and opening a new ride, they need to tinker with it a bit -

Dueane doesn't typically post stuff like that on hearsay. It would be rather incredible if the top speed was reduced by 15mph, and it can still make it through the course. Makes me almost wish I rode it.
