http://www.baseballchronology.com/Baseball/Years/1993/Attendance.asp Define "right around", please. And feel free to go back through the 80s too. They hadn't been in the top half in attendance since 1983 If you look at 1995, their attendance dropped considerably less than the other clubs'

^ I think the easy solution to your problem is to get another dude. you're so old. next you're gonna say we can't break up via text either

After reading through those, I don't think I would vote for any of those parties. The Independence Party was probably closest to what I believe in, but some of their beliefs are not cool in my book, such as the opposition to wind farms (why?), banning burkas (it should be their choice) and requiring gov schools to make Britain look amazing (yay unbalanced nationalism). Good luck Britain, hope things work out better for you

I think you're underestimating how passionate the Brits are about the game. I would almost guarantee you will regret it!!

Fair enough. FWIW though, ESPN's contract for the 2010 World Cup is slightly less than what ESPN pays per game for the rights to broadcast Monday Night Football. So Football still > football

I know that the World Cup is huge globally, but he was talking about ESPN, here in America.

The Super Bowl is #1. March Madness is probably right behind the olympics. The only reason the Olympics bring in a ton of money is because they last 17 days. I'd be impressed if the world cup was #3 in the US While there may not be commercials, soccer games are usually "presented by ______" My local beer bar doesn't have tvs... except during the world cup. Can't wait!

^ I just got tired of people wanting me to fail. I had to actually eat the stuff, you know, and greatly prefer not setting stuff on fire. It was me trying to be creative with the limited range of food I actually like, not to make some sloppy crap that tastes terrible (though I only think 1 or 2 were inedible). I also eat "healthier" now, so most of the old CWJ stuff just doesn't fit my diet these days. I'll definitely do a "party snacks" CWJ next time

I didn't realize you liked those big, soft, bavarian pretzels. I should do a cooking with Joe next time I make some!

^ Could be worse, like the bleak years in Montreal, or even.. Miami =/

Once upon a time, there was a list, and I ascended to the top spot. It was a backup list, so it was like being the first loser - still something to be proud of though! Over time, however, things changed and I slowly began falling back down

^ Good call Jewey! I didn't realize that. As of now, he only has gotten on base 3 times more than he struck out. I knew he wasn't even hitting .300, but when he does hit, he can really crank. He could end up being the next Adam Dunn... hit .250, have half of your hits homers, and strike out 150+ times Braves fans should be talking about Martin Prado, or lamenting over the fact that Kelly Johnson is lighting it up in Arizona, after they couldn't wait to get rid of him here.

Im so damn sick of hearing about him already. He's 20, people need to stop comparing him to Hank

PTR: Waterville USA, Gulf Shores AL
ParkTrips replied to coasterer's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I, like many southerners, have vacationed in Gulf shores several times. I, also like many others, never made it to the park. Weird how it can last so long, yet nobody ever seems to find it busy (not to mention how many big storms it has survived!) -

I love drunken Larry

The Smokies are cool if you've never been to real mountains out west, or if you like hick arts&crafts, moonshine and banjos

I hope he loses. If she has to pay him $30M, she might be inclined to stick around and make more music/money. The more time she spends in the public spotlight, the worse we as a nation are!

Figure 8 Brewery - The Grand Opening.
ParkTrips replied to Cameron's topic in Random, Random, Random
^ Does Indiana allow self-distribution? That helps these new, smaller places expand greatly without lining the distributors' pockets. Its illegal in Georgia thus very few breweries and brewpubs -
They shouldn't even be playing the 12-15 interleague games they are already playing. No way, judgment calls make sports more entertaining. How boring would baseball get if there was never an issue with an umpires call.
