someone owes CC music factory some royalties I thought, maybe for a minute, that this was getting ridiculous - but I was wrong, its only getting better! Seriously, google ads?!?! I think its amazing how much effort has gone into the parody side, yet the people who *really* want to save the ride can't be bothered to work this hard -

re-posted due to its awesomeness. I mean, c'mon, an animated .gif cat, pictures of the wrong Big Dipper(s), and the necessity to highlight text to actually read it? My favorite prank in a long time, for sure. A nice throwback to the pavesfmm, 41190 and other awesome sites I salute whoever did that -

yeah, since we hopped around and saw at least half of the big tents, I'd say Hofbrau was mostly tourists (and the one that was the craziest early Tuesday evening). Lowenbrau was about average in terms of tourists/locals. I tend to think the weekends were FAR more tourists than the weekdays (and subsequently a bit more crazy) I wonder if English was spoken so widely because it is sort of a "common denominator" among guests - the Germans pretty much all know English, and obviously we, the Brits and Aussies also know English. The only other significant group is the Italians. The wikipedia page for Oktoberfest claims 70% of visitors come from Bavaria, but the page that was being cited was not up anymore, so who knows. I'm not sure I'd believe it Saying that Lowenbrau is the only beer the Americans know of is completely wrong IMO - I'd say that Spaten and Paulaner are much more prevalent in the US, as is Weinstephaner (who doesn't participate). Throw in Beck's and Warsteiner from outside of Bavaria and I'd guess that Lowenbrau probably only holds the 6th biggest market share of German beer in the US. Oh, and for the record, we did the rocket. Even though we were loaded with beer, it was still pretty lame. I really thought we would die, but it wasn't too bad -
^ Extra on the set of Striptease?
-
^ Well, truthfully, it would be easier on Southwest to avoid the fatass/kids/whoever by just going to another seat
-
Seat assignment is actually a big deal to me too (I got lucky on KLM this past trip, otherwise, I'd be cursing them too), and Delta pretty much always matches AirTran on shared routes The more I think about it, and the more it sounds like Southwest policies will remain in place, the less enthused I am
-
^ They seem to attract a different clientele for whatever reason (probably price) Truthfully, as someone who checked a bag yesterday for only the first time in about 15 flights, I'd rather have cheaper fares and pay a la carte for other stuff

^ I liked Knott's better, honestly. My first thought for parks in the US to compare it to was Visionland, since there was little shade, wide open spaces, few rides, and (admittedly better-than-Visionland) attempts at theming. I never went, so I can't say for sure, but Hard Rock Park may have been similar. Elissa kept comparing it to some crappy China park I've never even heard of -
^ Yeah, that was my thought. Southwest doesn't fly to Atlanta, so it doesn't hurt competition here (in fact, it may add some heat to Delta since they will serve even more destinations) - but on big routes where SWA and AirTran compete (especially BWI-MCO and the like), it can't be good for prices. Air Tran also had really affordable first class tickets and great seats, and I imagine Southwest will get rid of them
-
Since most of us travel a lot, this could be a good thing I suppose. I'm still mixed on it http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-09-27/southwest-airlines-agrees-to-buy-airtran-for-1-4-billion-in-cash-shares.html

Yes, and you seriously can leave people up there! I need better friends!! Its great to relive some of these memories for the first time -- for some unknown reason, I had a bit of amnesia on certain days. Oh, and the Piers bus ride video was amazing. << Already committed for the next Oktoberfest trip!! -
