Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kewl. I plan to get to DLPR at least twice within every five years now, so after Spring'07, probably 2010, then for the 20th Anny, 2012. And more new attractions, shows and surprises to come, yes! -
OWWWWstop it. The Main Street lights at DLP are just beautiful to see esp.with the Grown Up Version of Sleeping Beauty's castle as backup. Mmmmm nice. ~ ~ ~

Nrthwnd replied to Ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, good to hear you got (most of) everything back, with the bag. Especially those toys, lol. Bet he was very happy to see them all. -
POST # 600 !!! And I just found this pic, posted by a reader of Screamscape.com --- Hmmm, guess the imagineers just couldn't wait till the new year, to test it out, huh? Cool that it can actually have peeps on it now. Who IS that there in those front cars? Maybe Joe Rhode among them? (Head AK honcho.)

^ Who knows why it's resurrected? (blame calcajun ) The tat looks great. Simple, classy and definitely unique design. Congrats! I have two done, one on each arm, upper part by shoulder. One is full colored-in Pagasus, and the other is linework-only Centaur. Why the Centaur's never been colored in?.... well, that's another somewhat longer story. In another post/thread, in the new year perhaps.

Thanks for sharing the plans of the attraction! I love it! Can't wait to be there in spring of '07 for 15th Anny of DLP and the debut of this new add-on to the Studios. Derek?^ I don't think the TofT is going to be finished for '07 opening. I believe the orig.plans were for the Toon Studios add-on to open in 2007, and the Tower to open in 2008. But hey - ya never know with Disney, hmmm? -
"Guaranteed to work, until the next contract agreement."

Yes, that is indeed, a Prairie Dog. Geez, you'd think Discovery Channel of all people would supply the right pic of... hmm?

What have you been hit in the head with?
Nrthwnd replied to zaneymon's topic in Random, Random, Random
When I was a kid, swimming in the Horseshoe Bay area of West Vancouver, I came up out of the water and got BONKED on the head with a (it turned out) tin can! And I did get cut, and bled and got stitched up. End of story. And nobody got sued.:shock: Surprise. In the late 50's, accidents happened and we just dealt with them, kids and parents alike (IMO), at the time. -
Hmmm. That's too bad. Mine has been fine, since I got it from Amazon.com. Maybe you should have taken it back, when that happened. But hey, you wanted to immediately read all about The Mansion's many incarnations thru the Disney years. I can fully understand your immediate need to know, heh heh. I think Amazon is still selling the HM book, and since this one cost me $16 plus shipping, 'Haunted Mansion' may still cost the same. Ya never know, hmmm? Chirstmas List to make up, right?

Poll: Is Don better Hairy or not?!
Nrthwnd replied to Jeezus Juice's topic in Random, Random, Random
I think the way you had your beard, suited the shape of your face. And honestly? Not many guys to me can get away with it like that, w/o a stache. So keep the hair. 8) -
Me and a friend, waiting for our ride home, after an evening at local bar. This was taken at 0130 Saturday morning. Didn't see that sign till now. Hmm. (pic taken by buddy, Clark)

Just got this new Disney ed.book, put together by the same author (Jason Surrell) who did a wonderful job (IMhO) with The Haunted Mansion book. Covers the creation of the orig. DL attraction and then all the variations at the other parks (WDW/TD/DLP), and then chapters on the first movie (Curse of Black Pearl) and some new stuff on the other two films being released in '06 and '07. Lots on Disney Imagineering stuff included, pix and designs not used... arrrrrrr. I got mine thru Amazon.com

My recent trip to Amsterdam had one such "parking lot carnival" there, altho it was right in the middle of a huge square (Dam Sq.) and in front of the Royal Palace. And for me, basically, the only thing(s) I will go on at these "groupings" is any cheap cheesy dark ride that may be tagging along. Like the Ghoster Coaster that was there, to ride. Clunky and usually silly, but fun for the moment. ~ ~ ~ ~ But if you want to see a Big Example of such a "carnival," c'mon up and come to Playland, BC where the asphalt is flat and gray and foot-numbing, the ride ops are just as 'guest-friendly' as you'd expect (not), and the assortment of rides? Well, let's just say the wood coaster holds it all together, and w/o it there, the whole thing is just a permanent parking lot extravaganza... with landscaping in movable holders (i.e trees, etc.) "This Is My Home Theme Park".

Don't know if this is right thread - but - Just read screamscape.com. Webmster(?) Lance's mother now in hospital and not looking good... If anybody knows him, send regards and thoughts for his mother from me. And others too, of course.

Tusenfryd Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Shadowforce's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My error. Now removed here. The 'musical escalator' note was in reference to the escalator in Parc Espana video in TPR's library of videos. A joke comparison. Looking forward to riding Speed Monster next mid-June, when the TPR Tour does Tusenfryd as it's second add-on to the tour. -
Oh yea sure, he's in you're heart, but I'm in your gourmet sausage! Hmph! And I suppose I'm in the chopped liver section? Welcome back, Chris.
