And he was excellento in "Almost Famous," too. The guy 'gets around' quite nicely, when it comes to movies, so it's great to see him on a more regular basis, with something written around his (probable) laid back personality.

Photo TR format
Nrthwnd replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with Erik and Phishy - if you split your TR into separate threads, then one or the other (or more) can get slowly lost in the "downflow", the way the threads usually, somewhat eventually, go here. If the peeps are really wanting to keep up with your TR, they will, thru same thread. That's the way I did my first-ever TR, the Amsterdam trip (SEE THREAD, in Random, Random, lol)? And just changed the second line posting, as needed, when I added more pix. And of course, an ocassional 'bump up' never hurt, either. -
I voted today in my city's Civic Elections... Mayor, Councillors Board, School Board, Parks Board... Lots of 'Boards' LOL.

There's a full POV ride-thru of it here in the Download Videos section of the site, thanks to R&E. My take is, from what I remember back in 2001, they did indeed plan it as a 'race thru Hollywood' avoiding the paparazzi and eventually making it to a Hollywood Premiere. Like Mr.Toad's Wild Ride... in La La Land. But I do remember word getting out, after the death of Princess Diana, that Disney execs and Imagineers BOTH decided that opening such an attraction so soon, would be Ultra Bad Taste. So essentially, I heard, they just slowed the cars down to a much slower ride speed, and then had to beef up the 'dialogue' along the way, etc. Which I guess, cornered them into a non-storyline mess of flats and nonsense. What I heard and read, at the time.... ~ ~ ~ Which now makes me think... Maybe they'll amp up the speed of the ride vehicles for the Mike&Sully To the Rescue ride. Putting back in place some of what they couldn't do originally with SL, at that time. At least they can do it, this time'round, hmm?

I watch it when I can - and my David is a devoted SLAVE to it, meaning he'll watch it or tape it if not there Tues.night and watch later. Funnier than I ever thought it would be, considering the extra EXTRA low-key promos for it at first. Never know with TV, hmmm? ~ ~ ~ We now continue with our program... ~ ~ ~

Movie Soundtrack or Original Broadway Cast? I think I know which one. But thought I'd inquire anyway.

Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thankyou, thankyou, THANKyou, Jose! I AM still wondering, though, why the plans up and disappeared from Eric's posting. Still the curious in me, heh heh. But thanks for this. Copied and saved, sir! -

Nrthwnd replied to ParkTrips's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Nice second part of the report, ParkTrips. Thanks for sharing a part of the amusement industry I'll never get to see. -
^ Yes (unfortunately for you). Just hum along and maybe the noise will 'blend in' and you'll get "HARMONY."

MagicMountain all year pass for $49?!
Nrthwnd replied to SpectralN's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Altho it's not exactly the same price range, DisneylandParis has been doing a 'deal' with a one-day pass being elegible towards an annual pass there. For a few years now, too And you can apply it either before you enter the park, or while you are inside it. -
Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Guess we all should've saved them sooner, jar. I didn't either, boo hoo. I have the feeling that they shouldn't have been posted - EriclovesTZTOT was found out - so the plans got pulled. Darnit. -
Wow, the new Stats Lists are pretty bizarre - not the least of which being, finding myself on one of them. Ack! (meh - I'll get over it, wink wink)

Nice TR Wally. But so odd - to see you with a coffee in your hand instead of... well, you know. -
Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, the schematics plans went AWOL a couple of days ago - and in their place were two small banners, in French, alluding to something I couldn't translate thoroughly. I am wondering if EricLovesTZTOT wasn't supposed to post those drawings... and got caught? And had to take them off the posting? Or some other reason, perhaps? Shed any light on this Eric? -
Superman Full Speed Testing Photos
Nrthwnd replied to rabid disney's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks sweet for it's test runs. Thanks for sharing good shots of it. -
Yes. Do you keep an actual ongoing photo album? (Not a 'special,' like weddings or big trips only, etc.)

New Avatars In The Gallery!
Nrthwnd replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for the new avatars. Picked a new one I thought I'd enjoy going by for awhile, lol. With that plaid, I mean, how could a Canuck (slang) NOT pick that??? That, and giggling when saying "fuuuuuudge." -

^ I don't think we'll really know about the seating until the cars actually make an appearance thru pix taken of... the model of, or a mockup (mock turtle - hah) or an actual working car itself. One of the early designs I have seen of the turtle cars, have back-to-back seating within the main framework. And you know what? Who says Disney may not put the seating like actual two-row seating, and pivot the middle between the two front-facing rows? You never know, right? (*I can't wait to ride this*More than BuzzLightyear*More than ToT*) -

Madonna's New Album - Confessions On A Dancefloor
Nrthwnd replied to live2tell75's topic in Random, Random, Random
When I was in Amsterdam, they were already playing her video from the album in a few bars, gay and non- ... not to mention the music itself came and went thru a lot of places (like some coffee shops) there. So Europe is already playing it, I betcha. And Mrs.Ritchie is playing smart and closer to home, I'm thinking. Smart momma.
