  1. I went to Playland yesterday, to get my "season playpass" (yeah, whatever) and to take in what they've got set up for this year.... UGH. I swear to the Theme Park Gods this has got to be one of the most poorly put-together amusement centers ever..... put together. And this is what we have, no are stuck with year after year after... I was planning to take my camera for Opening Day pix, but honestly? It's too embarrassing-looking to even think of snapping a pic or more. One big rectangular piece of ashphalt, with mainly flats (ooollllld flats) that make the whole setup look like it's an ongoing Travelling Carnival that is always on the verge of pulling up stakes and heading on to another town..... Did the Coaster 3 times, the Corkscrew (Final Dest:3's coaster?)once, once each on the two new flats (Breakdance and Gladiator/ by the way, WTF do swampboat-like vehicles have to do with Rome???) for this season, and the Beach Party ride. 7 ridings in all. Which was enough for the time spent there. And one vehicle ONLY, running on the Wild Mouse, so of course The Lineup formed immediately. I skipped that. And the ugly uuuuuughly flume ride. Am going back Monday, once the rains have quit up for this Easter Weekend. Maybe take a few pix just to show you all how frustratingly ARRRRRRRRGH this "Western Canada's Largest Amusement Center" is. I am now very sorry I missed the actual Travelling Rides Carnival that hit town back in mid-March. Plenty more newer, clean flats and probably some really great ones too, if I'd gone.
  2. ^ But we'll all keep watching it, yes??? I read somewhere that the ratings came up from what they were, having tanked during "The Family Edition." Not as high as in the first several editions. But at least, not in a downward spiral.... so far. Re-build of ratings can happen, hmm?
  3. ^ and anybody else who's interested... go here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24168&start=10&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= Here on page 2....

  5. Whew! I was busying myself with a posting, and then, out of the corner of my liddle eye... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeep! Being non-computer savvy, I immediately logged outta here, then proceeded to shut down my pc. Didn't want "anything" suddenly gettin gover to any other system in my sytem I thought, rightly or wrong. Hee hee Robb. Good one.
  6. The photo of this year's pass at Playland is so grainy itself.... well, best I can do right now... I AM smiling there, really!
  7. ^ Hey - that's a pretty cool 'education' for that particular teacher of yours... the one who was making the jokes? Then afterwards....not? Good for him, and you and others (who aren't as out as you are) there. Every little bit of enlightenment helps make a better world, lol.
  8. ~ ~ ~ Great pix TR! And I too love the night shots at IOA. More, more, more! Just read over at www.screamscape.com that the... High In the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride (just love that name) will be hoping to be "open by June 1st."
  9. Ray of Light ~ Madonna ~
  10. BUMP.... Looks like there's a good deal of track construction (framework & rails) starting to happen within the "Soundstage" building that Crush will be in: http://216.109.124.98/language/translatedPage?lp=fr_en&.intl=fr&tt=url&text=http%3a%2f%2fwww.dlrp.fr%2frecherche.php%3fmotrecherche%3dtoon Many thanks to Paul and www.dlrp.fr for the great photo updates of both this area and the Tower of Terror going up, too. And BUZZ too, of course!
  11. And now the guys end up at the rear of the pack? Oi..... And they weren't even smokin'anything 'international' to go a wrong direction for an hour..... geez. Hope they can do something to pull back up from the bottom. Ah well - BYE BYE LAKE - Au revoir. Pip pip. Toodles.
  12. ^^ Yes, I think you had something more important on your mind, than a silly old Toaster-bakeOff... (j/k) Destroy - the - smock.
  13. Excellent new photo sets, Chris! It looks very menacing... which is a very - good - thing. I was wondering tho - it may have already been posted here in this thread... but - what is going to be below it all? On the ground there? Plain old asphalt? Maybe something more ... wet and pool-like, perhaps? Thought I'd ask. Looks like it's going to be a nice one to try in a (hint) year or so (HINT) during a....um....'tour' perhaps? Great pix, Chris!
  14. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Yeah! ^ That was a neat little (OMG) slipped in there and shown just enough to notice.... Hmmm. So The Phil Guy gets Di Italian Groove on, hmm?
  15. In less than two hours, I'll be "out of town" and away from Ye Olde PC fer awhile.... Till Monday morning, I reckon. I'll be fine and will have so much to catch up on, once I get back to TPR. No TR either, sorry. It's a nice me me ME Break away from stuff and non-sense. Been awhile, since before Winter I think, and I need/want it now. Later all. b.
  16. Amazingly tough choices to make, guys. A lot of them are wuuunderful, lolol. But... 1. Athiest Encounter / niiicolaaah 2. Wally's Blashphemy Blasters / gunslinger 3. Moses Vision 3D / arrowfanman May the bestest of all of you, keep on photoshoppin and a'choppin'.....
  17. ^ And then maybe buy some detergent, too! Nice little TR there. I should TR my laundry system downstairs, too.
  18. ^^ Verrry clever Mr. Johnson. With (of course) Props to The Guy!!! That's your very own Personal Hidden Mickey, man. Thankfully captured by the roving lensessss of Mr.J there.
  19. Adopted. And I've never really found out... So I voted Other. That said - I have always hoped that there was some Russian background in my bloodline. Somewhere. But - we'll never know, hmmm?
  20. I'm right-handed. But with my lover being left-handed, AND it was "his computer" I started out on.... I am pretty much left-handed with the PC mousie! Even when I've been to Amsterdam, Berlin or Paris these past few years, when we find computer cafes and the like - we both have to put the mouse on the left of the keyboard. But we always put it back where it orig. was... Go figger, huh? (*So I went with the Ambi- choice. Mmm'k?)
  21. Mmmm, looks like my kind of Thanksgiving Land, heh heh. Love the way the entrance to it all is being done with the bridge entrance thru the coaster itself. Very nice. Themeing should be quite something, hmm?
  22. ~ ~ ~ ~ Well we lost the nerds last night. Too bad. I liked them. They were a sweet couple who were really rooting for each other and not trying to OD verbally and VOLUME-wise, heh heh. I'll miss'em. Lake also needs a good shot of valium (or something appropos) to calm --- down. At least he's not (so far) like that jerk in the earlier AR who constantly screamed at his wife, remember? Brrrrrrrrr. Hopefully Lake and Michelle won't end up like "that couple".... I hope. Hmmm. Wonder when this little one-two finish with the Frats and the Hippies is going to end and get....uuuuuugly? Hmmm......
  23. ^ Yes, it is (what I have read) - from the looks of the concept artwork and schematics (seen on earlier previous pages here?), it looks like they will have a pair of them at angles close to each other, to make the figure 8's a bit more.... um..... edgy? And - not trackless, by the way. This isn't like Winnie The Pooh at TDL. These are in a conveyance system that 'trades' each vehicle at the (ahem) crossroads in the middle of the '8'. The first one of these was the Kelp Kups in Ariel's Kingdom in TDS. Then, the Lady Bug Boogie at Bug's Land in DCA. Now, Cars at DLP's Toon Studios. But, this one looks like it'll have quite the themeing around it and in the line building, etc. And then, once you've seen the movie CARS... I mean, you'll have to get the Paris and ride/see/interact for yourself!
  24. Yours sounds better. Actually, we have a wonderful Mexican restaurant (Tio Pepe's, been around for nearly 20 years now!)) 2 blocks from us here. I love their food in general, but the burittos are wooooonnnnnnderful. (smacks lips) And it's served to you in a nice tiny atmosphere of music and 'okay' kind of decor.... Mmmm.
