~ * ~ * ~ Camille back in March, in her 'playbox' now relocated near and under our new Schwinn ExerBicycle.... She's really 'ok' with it, lol. "Looks okay from where I'm sitting...."

Wakefield Fair Photos... Woo
Nrthwnd replied to Canobie Fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmmm. That Terminator looks interesting. Something I haven't seen here at Playland or the PNE. Thanks for sharing. -
Yes. Do you exercise at all?

Yay for the taquitos! We're baking pork chops, potatoes and steaming some veggies. Mmm yum.

NEW PARK DISNEY IN EUROPE
Nrthwnd replied to IntelInside's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Now that would make me diversify my travelling schedule in Europe a bit, lol. No, actually that would make me alter it a LOT, heh heh. -
Point taken Elissa - but it's really more Paul and Nicole's "problem" - HAH! It'll be quite the while before I ever get my butt over thataways near The Falls. Nice to see they're FINALLY (maybe) taking care of some 'late themeing' etc. It's a nice coaster from what I remember seeing, in vids. Hopefully that plastic "wrap" isn't all they're going to do, hmm? ("Canadians on fire" - phfffft. And you've just jinxed it Nic - now DM will be closed when you arrive, bwa hah hah!)

Need some help with TPR streaming video
Nrthwnd replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The streaming worked instantly for me, first time. I do still like the download where I can then fill my screen with TPR Coaster Goodness, heh heh. But this streaming worked fine for me, tonight. -
I did not "choose to be gay." I chose whether to be sexual about it, or not. To 'act' on the orientation, is what I chose. And that's my truth 'on the subject of...'

NEW PARK DISNEY IN EUROPE
Nrthwnd replied to IntelInside's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I remember even parts of Scandinavia were being considered for the first Euro-Disney Park.... but Paris won out on that one. Spain would be interesting, and yes, an EPCOT-like theme park would certainly set it apart from the other non-US Disney parks, TDS included. Still, as I always, usually say...Talk is cheap. We'll wait and see, hmm'k? -

What flat ride makes you feel sick the most?
Nrthwnd replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can take stuff, it still appears from my current trrip to Playland, that "big circle rides" I can handle. I am still a bit leery of taking on an Octopus, after my bad experience many years ago with one. (Too fast, too many spins --- ooooops blleaaaaahhhh!) But, I enjoyed the Breakdance, did the old Scrambler there, AND The Enterprise which actually surprised me with (what I call) a Full Vertical Upright for a few spins. But Octopusses (pusses?), I'm still gonna steer clear of, for now. -
The "Sören´s Way To Disney" Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Hattuchili's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Your site is looking great, Soren! And you have a pool there, too! Awesome. And I think you did really well, getting time at Sea World with ONLY 1-1/2 hours to spend there. Looking forward to more of your Disney Year-Long Adventure! -

^ Thanks. ...I think.

~ ~ ~ Ice Age: The Meltdown 7/10 The animation was excellent, like the first IA film. But - I think just "getting away from approaching floodwaters" was being stretched a bit thin here. The three guys were great in their parts. Q.Latifa was interesting. The 'possible love interest' was fun to watch. I thought they were over-using the Skrat 'bit' waaaaaaay too much, just to extend time from scene to scene. All in all, it's a good movie. I enjoyed it. But I think I enjoyed the first one more. IMhO.

Showing my "Playland Haul" from last weekend's opening... #1 - Found these 8 Skeeball prize tix just lying on a shelf near the games section. And several Playland "play-tokens" (okaaaay) I 'bought' for pinball machines that didn't work.... Guess I should play Skeeball some, when I go there again this weekend - add'em up, add'em up! #2 - This is the 'giveaway' they handed out opening weekend.. cheap little plastique frisbee that adverts the PNE (annual fair) and not Playland itself... All nestled in this sturdy yet shapely (?)....mini-frisbee. Arrrrrrrr... And here be thy coinage tokens and Skeeball prize tickets, me brave young ladsssss... (I'll work on that accent.)

Always wondered: Do peeps wear anything under their hoodies? Like a t-shirt or... a tanktop undershirt? Or is it usually a "hoodie-on-skin" kind of thing? Or is it maybe, "depending on the weather"...? Just curious of the bear.... (EDIT: I've never had one... until my 'TPR First Encounter' last year, lol.)

BUMPing this up to 'report' current losses..... Started on Tuesday, Mar.14 @ 210 lb. Weighed myself yesterday, as per weekly... 203 lb.!!! Guess the damned thing is working, huh? AND cutting down on the constant "in-house snacking," heh heh. Well, I guess I should keep at it, and still drink lots of water, eat sensibly, etc. etc.

Wow. That's exactly like what we have here as you go farther north of the city, towards Whistler Mountain Resort, etc. The major inlet up the Sunshine Coast with fjords and immediate mountain areas hugging the coastlines. And small coastal towns opposite, sharing the shore... It's wonderful seeing the snow dusting the mountains there You live in a very beautiful scenic area of the world. Thanks for sharing where you live. Looks great! (And that looks like quite the HIKE too, heh heh.)

The first - no contest. I remember seeing it in Victoria, BC - all of us, lined up on the sidewalk for the next showing. And 'hearing loud crowd sounds' in the theater, while we're standing there outside, wondering wtf.... Then, everybody coming out of the movie theater with 'looks' on their faces. And really TALKING about it. Then we went in - and then that music, and later on, the first - real - Everybody Scream with "that face" in the water.....EEEEEEEEE! The same year ('75), in Sept. we drove down to California on Highway 101 & 1. But - you think I would even stick a toe in the Pacific Ocean? Uh uh. Nope. I mean, you never know, right??? The first Jaws was The First Event Movie that started it all. I remember it well.
