What's your favorite Theme Park Souvenir?
Nrthwnd replied to bert425's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Believe it or not, I leave it very loose when it comes to souvenirs from different tours. Each tour has ended up with wildly different numbers and types of souvenirs, I've picked up. More fridge magnets than mugs, more mugs than t-shirts, more t-shirts than...anything else! And a lot of China cra...uh, stuff I have no use for now. And this also means, I "might" get only one t-shirt and nothing else. Could happen. But to answer The Question - ALL of my souvenirs, are "My Favorite Souvenir". -
"Along the banks, of Lake Louise."

Question to Robb and Elissa - depending on when they actually decide to open Iron Man, would there be a chance for the 2016 TPR China Tour, say to co-incide with this opening? Just curious about the possibility. I guess it would just depend on how "late" is late in the year, heh. Here's a layout showing where proposed future hotels would go. And from the looks of the other plans, the new hotel would go right beside the Hollywood Hotel.

^ Make sure it's built on a stable, stilted, set of docks, i.e. RCT1? 2? -
I seem to remember there were some plans around, after the park first opened, speculating that some kind of Downtown Disney 'district' would be created, in time. But then I think, it dawned on them, they needed to start upping their attraction numbers, so the DD was pushed to the back, for that time. Maybe after this hotel goes up, and the Iron Man attraction opens, a Downtown Disney might be their next project.

^ That red 'tower' is actually one of the classic freefall towers in existence. It wasn't operating when we were there, sadly. Here's that freefall tower from another angle, and a bit closer. And all - those - trees! -
^ Those are beautiful decorations for the holidays. I especially love those glass (plastic?) mushrooms in your first photo. Just lovely. Here's a shot of downtown, taken just five minutes ago, from our front porch. I love how the trees provide such varied "framing" and "intrusion" into a downtown shot. No red (sunset) in sight there. but still a pretty good evening shot, IMhO.

Well, it looks lovely, but if TPR goes to China in 2016, we'll just have to see construction only. Still, Disney's Hollywood Hotel is great and easy access to the park, via the bus. EDIT TO Add: I also get a kick out of that "location plan" which shows the entire layout of Grizzly Gulch Runaway Mine Cars, as well as Mystic Manor's buildings, etc. All above where the new hotel is located.

Chuck's Shameless Nostalgia TR: TPR's 2006 UK Trip
Nrthwnd replied to cfc's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
My first tour with TPR, too. It was great. Really enjoyed Dragon's Fury. And I think we all enjoyed it more, that the one at Alton Towers. Vampire station, I agree, was really excellent in it's themeing. And the coaster was great too, sailing through the trees and over the heads of the GP. The walkback to that tunnel the coaster flys through was pretty impressive, too. And so you can compare, Chuck, here's a couple of photos I took at Lego Land. One, uh...accidently, the other...well, we seem to have the same appreciation for miniatures, heh. Great retro TR Chuck. Looking forward to more. How's your hairline now, Chuck? (o; And all my hair and beard have gotten a touch....greyer. And longer, lately. -

^ Oh, we found them everywhere, especially at Tokyo Disneyland. Here's one Princess we found at the park, getting free transport from her minion parents. The gown even comes with transport!
