Shanghai Disney Resort Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Dr Freeze's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just found some new photos, recently posted at Disney & More's Facebook page. Showing mainly The Castle, and Fantasyland, behind and beyond it... EDIT To Add: these photos were most likely taken, before the Carousel started taking shape. A more recent photo (see above somewhere) shows the roof and framework already up, but it's not finished in this first overhead shot. Just noting. All of FantasyLand lies here behind (and to the sides of) The Castle. Note the large dark building up back? Could/should be a new show building. And what's all below this, is the entrance/portal/FriendsGarden to the park. Closer to the castle. now showing some of Crystal Grotto route; Hunny Pot Spin (round roof); Pooh's Adventure (behind Spin); and left side of Seven Dwarf's Mine Coaster. Actually there's lots of interesting 'stuff' to see here, not knowing what everything is to be, at this time. But oh look! There's Dumbo!!! (o: (o: (o: And beyond the castle, a better view of Hunny Pot Spin; Pooh's Adventure bldg.; and the left side of the Seven Dwarf's Mine Coaster. And although this is almost identical to the previous photo, this one shows the Right Side of the Seven Dwarf's Mine Coaster up there. (o; And isn't The Castle looking a-mazing? -

^ Yes, the music is wierd, almost something I would hear with a European video, lol. And I found the video to be a bit dizzying, not being able to focus on anything, except that brief encounter with the Peanuts gang. I had to stop watching it, about 3/4 of the way through it. -
It's over here, where we are.

^ Ooooh Ross, I would have loved to see this musical ...and Chita of course! I had the awesome fortune of seeing her three times! 1966 tour of Sweet Charity, as Charity; 1976 Velma in original CHICAGO; and lastly (forget the year) Lead in tour of "Kiss of The SpiderWoman"! That being said, and from every review of ALL musicals' openings up till now, the closing date (day after) I want to make a prediction, and declare... Best Lead Actress In A Musical - Chita Rivera - The Visit They tailored it to Chita's many powers, including dancing her best stuff. And from all accounts, she's earned it with this one.

^ Great! It also made me wonder how Santa would do over in Japan riding coasters, since a number of them have "age limit" signs on them, lol? And Santa is ageless, right? -

I moved this over from the Twitter page, because I don't Tweet. However, I couldn't resist grinning at this shot. Not to mention the fact, that if this old guy can ride something like Thunderbird, there's hope for me, LOL! Awesome. And good going, Santa! (And thanks for the great shot, TPR) -
Just got something from my childhood, on eBay. It was my most favourite game, ever. I think I wore it out, lol. The shipping cost more than the item itself, but that was okay. Cost me a total of around $30 Cdn for it, including the shipping. Great memories with this board game.

Theme Park Bucket list
Nrthwnd replied to witting's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just figured out, that for my 700th coaster coming up in a couple of years or so, on my "Theme Park Bucket List" I want to hit that number in one (any one) of the parks in the USA, I have not been to, or not been to in some time. My other coaster count moments have all been in different countries other than the U.S. (Wales, China, Mexico to name a few) so I think it appropriate that this take place in The Land of Many Many Coasters, lol! -
"Sunny" sung by, believe it... Leonard Nimoy! A very young Leonard Nimoy. And - he's good!

Looked like a great opening for Mechanica. And the theming is wonderful! And I know David would kill for those two plush purple chairs in the candy shop, lol. And Helix, too. Thanks for covering and posting the opening, Marcus. -
