I got the TDR35th-Anniversary Facecloth today, and finally saw, what I couldn't figure out before, from the photos of it.....the "word" 2018! Should've know. There it is, in gold thread....2018! -
Very cool sky ride in that park! A lot of awesome shots from up there, I see. And so close to Disney, too! Great look at this new park in the world. Thanks for sharing this, too. I liked this part of one of your shots. Parade floats lined up, ready for action. (o;

Maybe bring back the still? Mmmmm cinnamon bread-flavored moonshine. -
I'm also going to throw in (besides Tokyo Disney Resort), all that is, in Hong Kong Disneyland, too. That park is getting major stuff in the next few years, as well as Japan, so definitely want to ride all that! I want to experience all this, by maybe, 2025? (o: And by that time, they may have started building their Second Gate......?

Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread

^ Well, if those two could ride it back then, in their late 70's+, I should be able to get by, currently in my mid-60's+ LOL! And the article had something in it I never knew before.... I checked RCDB.com and the information is there to be read. (Except ACE plaque - RCDB files, all photos from Vancouver Archives) Third paragraph also tells of it happening. Giant Dipper (1925-57) Giant Dipper AND original Water Chute in same shot. Playland then called "Happyland." 1950's cheese shot (and talk about no waistbelts, harnesses...nothing!). A true Date Ride...with the (Water) Shoot The Chutes turnaround bldg. in back. -

My thoughts on that, was that they'd possibly/probably replace the two current circles of seats, with new circles that have tilting seats. Easy? Don't know. We'll find out, I guess. -

Here's a recent "Best of" List article, that Coaster got to be a part of... "Playland roller coaster ranks 12th in world ranking by coaster fans" https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/playland-roller-coaster-ranks-12th-in-world-ranking-by-coaster-fans We're Number 12! We're Number 12! The late Walker Leroy (right) and his wife Alegra came to Vancouver in 1998 to mark the 40th anniversary of the PNE’s roller coaster, which he built in 1958. He was 82 at the time, she was 78. Leroy sat on the outside because that’s where most of the movement occurs when you’re riding it – it was designed for women to be on the inside. Mark van Manen / VANCOUVER SUN This is a Liseberg Balder t-shirt I bought in 2006 after the TPR UK Tour (it was an add-on park), which on the back of it, listed Coaster at #14 in the world. Balder, of course, was #1. (o; -

Odinexpressen was in my very humble opinion, one of The Fastest Powered Coasters I remember ever riding, in my TPR travels. Ever. It was a real adrenalin ride. And Caravanen was sweet, really short (almost Teeny Tiny in Tusenfryd!) but had one corner on it that really whipped you around, LOL! The artwork for the new one looks great. Thanks for posting the new news! -

^ Well, between then (2013) and now (2019) anything's possible. But back then, the Batman SLC was a really smooth (to me) ride. And the Boomerang was great, too. Back then. I was impressed. -
^ I'm going to wait a few years or so, until they get some more "stuff" into the park. Probably after 2025.

It will 6+ years since I went there (with TPR) and boy do I miss it! One of The Best Six Flags parks, IMhO, that I can remember. It also had, surprisingly, both a pretty good SLC AND a just as good Boomerang, too! Miss you SF:M This one really surprised me, comfortably! (o; TPR 2013 Mexico Tour. -

If it's Sriracha flavored.... Me too, that would be awesome! We've had a bottle of Sweet Chili Sauce around, that has a good "tang" to it. But sriracha flavoured popcorn? I'm all for that, too! A reminder of what the new Popcorn Shop is (hoping) going to look like in 2020, between the Big Hero 6 Happy Ride and Beauty&Beast Mini-Land. (o; Oooooooooooooooooo yes! And I do hope that this "Popcorn-Chandelier" will be there, too! -

For any coffee drinkers out there... http://www.tdrexplorer.com just posted a neat article on a coffee shop in Tokyo, that does "3D Latte Art". https://tdrexplorer.com/reissue-cafe-harajuku-review/ And here's what they led the article with...Elissa, you're probably not a coffee drinker (that I know of), but of course I thought of you when I saw this. You can bring in a photo or drawing, and for the extra Yen, they will duplicate it on your latte! -
