  1. Just got this, and am totally shocked that I didn't buy it sooner! I am a Total Streisand Fanboi from decades ago. But all my recordings of her are LPs. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, heh.) That said, this is my very first Streisand CD, and wow - she is still magnificent in her singing, AND what's on her mind, to borrow a song title. You know exactly what and who this is directed towards, in part. But then she is is glowing with gorgeous covers and orchestrations on what is good and precious about everybody in the world. She is still magic in these times. Buy this. Enjoy it. And be surprised by Barbra......still.
  2. Listening to an unexpectedly amazing album right now... Barbra Streisand ~ Walls I don't think I have any of my BS albums in CD form. They're all old fashioned LPs. That said, this is the most musical and political Babs has ever been. You can easily guess, who and what this entire album is directed towards. I am enthralled and amazed at what's she's done here. And The Lady can still sing Big Time! Wow. Still a Barbra Fanboi from way back then. A really magnificent album. For it's Time & Place.
  3. My Fave 6, from all the tours I've done Thanks TPR!, are these, with the reasons.... #6 ~ Feng jun Palace, Phantasialand, Germany. Best Exotic of all of those I have ridden. #5 ~ House of Surprise, Hayanashiki, Japan. Best Simple, but effective theming and nostalgia. #4 ~ Merlin's Castle, Walibi Holland, The Netherlands. Best Location, location, location! I mean it's on an island (kind of) with a moat around it! #3 ~ The Haunting, Drayton Manor, England. Best Total Surprise. Had no idea what it was. Thought it was a haunt house walk-through but...not to be, I found out! Aliens Attack! Great idea. #2 ~ Le Defis de Cesar, Parc Asterix, France. Best Humor and use of themeing. From beginning to end, this attraction was fun, all the same knowing what the ride was going to be. Especially enjoyed the use of animation screens in the ride! Great idea! #1 ~ HEX, Alton Towers, England. Best Overall Everything! They put it in a historic castle! And let you exit out, into the castle grounds, to stroll around a bit. Instant history lesson, it was! #6 ~ Feng jun Palace, Phantasialand. #5 ~ House of Surprise, Hayanashiki Park. #4 ~ Merlin's Castle, Walibi Holland. How it looked when I rode it. #3 ~ The Haunting, Drayton Manor. Photo from themeparkreview.com thank you! #2 ~ Le Defis de Cesar, Parc Asterix. Tim, Jeff, Ginny & Ben (and me) in queue for the attraction. TPR 2008 Europe Tour. #1 ~ HEX, Alton Towers. My very first Big Time one of these, lol! Loved it from start to finish, and exiting into the grounds.
  4. ^ Cool, thanks. Hope nobody got hurt or injured, from the "stampede" reaction of the crowd.
  5. When I rode INSANE at Grona Lund, I knew exactly what I was getting into. A very intense, sometimes strong forces ride. Which was awesome! And on one of the two tours TPR did there, that I took, one guy actually got a nosebleed from riding it. But - did he sue Grona Lund? No, he didn't. By some miracle, he took responsibility, and got taken care of. Now, if that happened at SFMM....what are the odds, huh? So they dumbed down the intensity of it, throughout the cycle, and upped the security, which also sacrificed a LOT of comfort on it. I rode it back in Sept.2016. Glad it's going away. I rode it only for the credit. And that's that.
  6. ^ I can't see it, without joining something. And I didn't want to join. So, could you (or somebody else?) post a reader's digest version of what happened? Many thanks.
  7. "marine railway".... I like it!
  8. ^ Mmmm, that coaster is looking sweeter and sweeter, to me. Thanks for posting this set of videos! Thought I'd never say that about any Japanese wooden coaster!
  9. Tainted Love ~ Marc Almond LIVE at Royal Albert Hall
  10. Spring starts today. Finally. March 20, 2019.
  11. And it's a WOODEN Mousie too! We (Playland-PNE) lost our wooden mouse after 2008.
  12. ^ I have to add..... and a Home Made BUG HOUSE, too! (Haunted Swing) The Legend goes right around it, too!
  13. On most of the videos I have (now) seen, it looks like a really nice, smooth run. And yes, the blue track threading over, around and through the white framework really stands out, nicely.
  14. ^ Mmmmm that looks great! iSpeed Mirabilandia (Savio, Emilia-Romagna, Italy) TPR 2010 Europe Tour. Robb, Jon, myself, and ?#*% on it.
  15. ^ Don't forget.... "with a cheeseburger" from time to time, too! REMINDER! Tomorrow's the Hiring Event! (o:
  16. Golden Wings in Snowfield / 雪域金翅 Happy Valley (Chaoyang, Beijing, China)
  17. ^ Hope a bunch of people signed up, and will show up tomorrow. I sure would, except for allllllll thissss dissssstance. Plan to get another one of these, in Sept.'s visit.
  18. ^ Man, I am getting really old! Totally forgot about the little bldg. where we get the Season Pass cards from! And indeed, it is gone too! Hmmm. Wonder if that all will happen up at the Customer Service Bldg, after we enter the park? Well, there's still well over a month to go, before the May 4th Opening. Plenty of time to keep guessing. EDIT: By the way. I did notice that the online park map, and the actual signs at the ticket booths I saw today, haven't changed, to reflect the new Seniors' Daypass and Season Pass prices on the signs (hmmmph), as well as what is now missing, or to be replaced, on the map. I'd keep checking the map, to see if anything happens...or gets removed, I mean. EDIT #2: I just checked my Season Pass printout, and it says I'll be getting my photo pass at "Guest Services". And that up front building has three windows I remember, so...even better than that little purple-roofed shack in front of (r.i.p?) Wave Swinger. (Which only used two of their four available windows.) The SUPER BIG GULP (that's what they called it, thanks 7/11 ) in Playland, years ago. From Vancouver Archives.
  19. ^^ Dutch Wonder House is in Dutch Wonderland, Lancaster PA. And The Bug House is in Arnold's Park, Okoboji Iowa. Inside of the DWH. Thank you Chuck/cfc for the pic. Thank you to whoever took this great photo of TBH! So "innocent looking"...
