^ I completely agree. -
Just bought a pair of tickets to our next Cirque show..... LUZIA. Seeing it Oct.10th in great seats. All about Mexico. And it's in the Grand Chapiteau which is the ONLY way we like to see these shows. Except for seeing one Arena venue, for the Avatar-inspired TORUK. We enjoyed it, but it didn't feel the same as seeing it in the Cirque tent. This is our 10th Cirque show; 11 for me, having seen ZED in Tokyo Disney Resort back in 2011.

Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread

^ Ha ha, yeah Hells Gate, for sure! That, or Crazy Beach Party. Both have been down for extensive times during last season, but Hells Gate was the clear winner with "most of the entire season AND PNE" being down from time to time to time to.... For now, I think Playland has wanted to up their flat ride assortment, with newer more colourful rides, like this one. That, and since AtmosFEAR opened in 2011, they have actually added six* new family-friendly flat rides, including this one. And two thrill rides as well (AF and The Beast2015). So now, with Corkscrew finally up For Sale, I figure their next project will be a Coaster to take Corkscrew's place/footprint. Hoping it's so, in a few years. *Explorer Balloons; Bug Whirled; Dizzy Drop; Rock-N-Cars; Flutterbye; Sea-to-Sky Swinger. What used to be first seen, when you entered Playland, in 2007. -
Mmmmmm looks amazing! And like DisneySea (to me), I can easily enjoy just the atmosphere and theming of all of it, without having to go on a ride to enjoy it. And the food, drinks, and merchandise, of course. Thanks for posting all of this, Robb. Kind of related, that I can't wait to see how the Disneyland version looks!

^ Great find there! Thanks for posting the links. Sadly, I will be what? 75 when this is all completed? Ah well. At least by then, with a Seniors' pass, I'll be able to walk through it all, with much bench sitting, and enjoy all the fun and atmosphere of the place. Was there today, and except for not seeing the swings, I am wondering if this is all going to be put together and running, by Opening Day this Saturday? Time will tell. I'm sure they want to have it open by then. But then, there's ...life. Here's the quick pix I took.... On closer look, the new ticket prices (+ Seniors' Day and Season Pa$$) not posted, yet. Well, we definitely know what it's called, now. And as I posted earlier, the new map shows S-t-S as #16. And all Blue/White. And at the top of it, no sign of Corkscrew on this map. Boo Hoo. The swings must be in there, somewhere. And now we know where both the 'waves and the whales' went! Mountains shot, before I left. -
I've seen some parks handle SRLs, by having gp be near the exit, and staff is there to notice and get them to seats, if single ones pop up. And I have seen ride ops direct single riders from the regular line, to please use the seat closest to the queue. Then, the single rider can be seated on their side, etc. Easy on paper, I know. But I did it with Twister in Grona Lund. Through their gift shop, too. And for Goliath in Walibi Holland, I seem to remember, as well.

^ Yes, I remember seeing the change in the Wave Swinger on that Marketing Day map, as it's (almost) the same map posted on the wall of the Customer Service Bldg. It changed colour (to blue), and is numbered as '16' and not '18' like the old Wave Swinger was before, on the map online (see below). Thanks for posting both of the maps. "Sea to Sky Swinger" huh? A bit wordy for a ride name. But that's okay. And it looks like Corkscrew is definitely off the maps, now. And still For Sale. It also looks like Alien Abduction and the Octopus are no more on the map, either. FYI Trivia: The ride is named after the Highway 99 nickname, that goes from the city, up to the mountains area, notably Whistler and Cypress ski areas. With awesome scenic views along the way. But now it's blue, and numbered #16! The Sea To Sky Highway - Highway 99. -

Now don't count out Phantasialand Park! It's really an interesting park, especially with how they disguise and theme their larger attractions. A lot like Disney does, but with their thrill rides, too! The flume ride is one of The Best in Europe (IMhO) if not the world. At PhantasiaLand, you might run into this guy, like Jon and I did, back in the 2008 TPR Europe Tour. -
^ That video series is really nice. It's showing others involved with the process of providing Disney Magic to the world. Who might not normally be featured in more public 'commercials' etc. Good for them to keep doing this, with so many ongoing projects now, it's welcome informative stuff. And sometimes you get an Easter Egg here or there in the video, without attention being drawn to 'it'.

IMhO, it's a no-brainer. Europa. EDIT to add: Actually it's so much like a good Disney park. Where you can just walk around, and take in the atmosphere of where you are, in the park. And not even ride a ride! So much theming and landscaping is everywhere to be enjoyed! And awesome RACLETTE, too! My last shot of Europa - outside the hotel - TPR 2008 Europe Tour. -

^ Congratulations to Andreas. I had (another) great time at Liseberg, during the 2014 TPR Scandi Tour. So I know he was definitely part of that great visit. Continued success for him.....and Tivoli too, now that they're getting him, LOL! Mmmmmm Liseberg. TPR 2014 Scandi Tour. -
Talk about wonderful things happening! The TONY Awards committee is planning to give out three special TONY Awards on the broadcast awards, June 9th. And one of them is to be posthumously given to (you guessed it) Marin Mazzie. https://www.broadway.com/buzz/195659/king-kong-music-director-jason-michael-webb-late-marin-mazzie-receive-special-tony-awards/ Too good to be true. (Listening to RAGTIME later this afternoon.) Her last Brdwy appearance: as Anna in revival of "The King & !".

^ That's great! Last year, there were parts for Coaster that were very late, and it didn't open till July! As for "the new ride," I still have the feeling it's a replacement swings ride, and that's it. But I am going back to the park on Wednesday and hopefully, it'll all be put together....and maybe even testing! Looks like a swings set to me. ...and speaking of a "nautical" flat ride.... at Drayton Manor, UK. Could be. Probably not. (o; -
As the TONY Numinations are coming out on Tuesday, I have decided to have myself a little tribute listening session, to a true Broadway Legend....Marin Mazzie, who we lost last Sept. Right now, it's the wonderful revival of KISS ME, KATE (1998). Tomorrow it will be the absolute epic original musical, RAGTIME (1999). And then, the rawest that Marin ever was (to me)....CARRIE (2012). You are totally remembered, Marin. And others. And loved.

Great TR Bert! Looks like you and Nick had a great time there, even with all The Crowds. Also, I noted you caught a couple in your Tidal Wave Cafe photo! Lookin' right back atcha! And the woman ahead of you on the carousel is an idiot. They See You! Nice shot of them, actually. (o;
