^ Looks awesome. I love the dead end track at "both ends" of the coaster. But - what happens if there's a 'tie'? As improbable as that sounds, it could happen with 12 riders on it, from what I can make out. 6 forward and 6 backward votes = ? -

^^^ Hey hey! Congratulations on your achievement! My 200th was a bad Mine Train coaster in Japan. Gold Rush my #200 -
Happy Birthday to all the 20+ year olds in TPR, today! First time in a long time, I haven't seen any birthdays for those "under 20."

This just in. There was a documentary made of the creation of Come From Away. It's already been seen in Canada, won several awards, and on September 11th, there's a one time showing of it in American theaters. Here's the Broadway.com article about it, including the trailer for it. https://www.broadway.com/buzz/196417/award-winning-documentary-you-are-here-a-come-from-away-story-to-play-us-theaters-on-september-11/

^ Have a great time! I'm not planning to be there again, till Wednesday. And don't put off the Kettle Creek Mine coaster or Bug Whirled as just "children's coasters". They're great for everybody. Enjoy yourself! -

Too bad the Tornado has a divider in the seats. That's the most fun, to me, about our Coaster. You get to bash into each other back and forth, lol. Great TR. My first and only visit there was in....1976? Glad to see it's looking nice as ever. -

Bumping this up, to ask the question, how many of these are left and still running, now? On page 1 Robb listed the seven he remembers....I realize I have been on five of them! Actually six, since I did ride Tidal Wave (MsGA) in it's day. -

Strange Lyrics, Dept. Something I love to do, after the TONYS are over, is look over the performance parts of it, thru Youtube. "Tootsie" was especially enjoyable, but I have to say, just before Michael exited and then gets turned into Dorothy, he sings this.... "Like the thrust of a hummingbird's tongue ~ Like a beer keg that's blown out it's bung ~ Like a hippo protecting her young - Unstoppable!" Strangest three lines I have ever heard, strung together, LOL.

~ Sunday at the Church of Coaster ~ What better way to spend a Sunday, than at Playland and riding the Almighty C to take your breath away, and raise you to a higher level of OMG!ness. And by the way - Happy Bastille Day, France! I thought churros were from Mexico! My PLINKO tickets haul = = this much. (o: Haven't bought any fudge in awhile. Blueberry sounds good. They even gave me an extra piece of fudge! Nice people at Playland. Fudge was good, too! Um... panels on the West Coast Wheel need to be..... redone? The Beast is active again. And AtmosFEAR "almost" touches the clouds. -

^ Yes, and The PNE also celebrates Out At The Fair Day again (this year. Thurs.Aug.29), like it started doing last year. You buy a pair of rainbow socks from the Pride Society's booth, outside the main PNE entrance, and you get in free! A "first" for a big annual fair, I thought. They were very supportive last summer's 'Day,' and everybody got into it, including the Fair staff. https://www.pne.ca/ways-to-save/ Last year's Pride Socks, bought at the PNE. Staff outside the PNE Prize Home. -

Yellow Carousel Horses! By the way, it does look a bit wierd, seeing a lot of the children's rides fenced in, with chain link fence. Not that there's anything wrong with that. -
Just found this out online. So it must be true! The Deep-Fried Mars Bar was invented in........ Scotland????? But apparently, true.

Well, I found out there won't be a Rib Fest (per se) at this summer's PNE. I get the feeling they're not trying to depend on other food place owners that rent space at the Fair. The PNE wants that cash cow (moo) as well as the alcohol licenses for The Fair. Which they now have, hence no Beer Festival during The Fair any more. A newly-named Revel District will take the area formerly called Celeration Plaza. There will still be a few rides there, beyond the Playland "District". And that great piano dueling couple will be back, as usual, with their awesome playing and taking requests. http://www.pne.ca So, along with ribs, there will be a Mexican food set up, maybe in that large Poutine Bldg. area? Hmmm..... Ribs or Burritos? Time will tell, OLE! p.s. "I Love Churros".....really? They're a theme park food. Hardly "Mexican", to my taste. But..... whatever. And this is the Rib Festival shot in the Plaza, from last summer. -

We had a Twister come to us during our annual fair, The PNE, years ago. Just loved riding it, and watching everybody freek out on it, LOL! And I am pretty sure it was the Herschell one. At the PNE, long time ago. Photo from Vancouver Archives. -

Good advice for any park, really. If not at opening time, give it an hour or so and things will have evened out. Usually. Hopefully.
