^ Thanks. I wish though, I had considered, that the VIP Pass was blocking all that neon coaster artwork loveliness on my 2017 Cedar Park t-shirt. Probably was on my 5th Stella Artois by then, so my mind was just telling me to get the damned photos taken, LOL! ...And this is what I called The Wierdo Shot. And oh, look. I lost part of my right arm.

Playland Nights 19+ ~ NEON PARTY tonight! I still stuck with my plan to not get into buying expensive cocktails, and stay with Stella Artois instead. The crowds were not huge, thanks to (probably) the chance of a downpour scaring some off. But it stayed dry and overcast all evening, and with a smaller crowd there, made the evening really nice and enjoyable, for myself. The VIP Tent was filled with glow "stuff", like rainbow slinkys, bubble guns (which I unfortunately did not think to get, before they all disappeared), glow sticks in all colours.... stuff like that. This was also where the only black lights were, in the entire park. I thought there would be many more of these, but not to be. Staff, which included security guards everywhere, were nice and cordial the entire evening. I enjoyed talking with them about Playland, and things(life) in general. All in all, it was a way better experience than the first time I did this, two years ago. That time, it was only one night, and the place - was - mobbed. I didn't even ride anything, back then. This was a much better time, which I'd happily do again. Even with paying the extra $$$ for the VIP thing. So much better. 6pm ~ Playland Entrance, now with fences. A few of the many security guards in the park. The VIP "Special Entry"....and bag/body search checkpoint. Some NEON starting to show up. Now with bubbles, too! My first (of several) Stella Artois. Inside the VIP Tent. Heaters outside the Ride Side Bar. Live entertainment was happening all night, here. First up was this amazing drummer, who just kept going and going and going! Strength and stamina....and incredible rhythm, too! The soundtrack he put together was an amazing mix. He was great. Wouldn't mind his being back at next year's PNs19+. More heaters. At first glace, this looked to me, like candles drying on racks. They were not. (o; There's always room for more bubbles! Even potted shrubs need attention and care. The Westcoast Wheel didn't run any lighting package or colour changes. It pretty much stayed blue, throughout the evening. Look what's still For Sale? And it's not Revelation. Thanks to a nice person who helped me take a few Glow Shots. I take very few selfies, if any. The wierd pose. My fave of the three taken. Neon Gangsta! Enterprise going colour crazy. I still don't know why I still ride this speedy omg thing. But I do. And I did, last night. Behind the Wheel, was another private spot for the VIP crowd, Zoltar's Speakeasy! It was fun to visit. Cushions to sit on, incense in the air. There was even a Zoltar Fortune Teller machine there, which was cool to watch, although his 'voice' was low to hear, with all the noise around. I got two rides on Coaster, thanks to my VIP Fastpass card. And one ride on Hellevator and AtmosFEAR, each. Still in blue mode. Out the door, and on my way to my pickup spot. I wondered if anybody actually rode that flume? My 'swag' for the evening. Including my fortune from ZOLTAR himself! -

Before My Playland Nights night happened... I spent less than a couple of hours at Playland, before leaving the park and finding something to eat. Originally the park was set to close at 6pm, but for some reason the drips and drops coming down from time to time equalled "inclement weather" to them, so they decided to close an hour early. 5pm. Fair enough. I did get four rides on Coaster and a quick tour around the park, so I could see what they were doing for their first Playland Nights night. Not much revealed until after I came back for the evening. I did notice that the special cocktails they were selling were over $12 each. But with 2oz of booze in each one, I guess it was a reasonable price. However, I decided to play it safe with my drinking, and stuck with good old Stella Artois for the night. Got another couple of rides on Coaster, which my Fastpass (incl. with the "VIP Experience") and one on AtmosFEAR, although at night, it makes the speed of the thing even more.....uh.... scary? Once was enough on that. And a ride on Hellevator, which was a drop tower for the evening. Photos taken before Playland closed for further setup... On the way to the bus stop. Pretty. More pretty. Playland entrance around 4pm. Yeah, well. Turned out they did decide to close early. An hour early. A bar set up beside Coaster. Ooooo gambling! Not to be unfortunately. This was being set up for our annual fair, in August. One of our national cable providers getting in on the action. My old standby (during the PNE) the Ride Side Bar would be open, tonight. I thought this was going to be a performers change tent. Turned out to be something else, most enjoyable. One of the DJ booths around the park. The Chairs got repainted! In Neon Colours. Themed for the coming evening. This was to be the VIP tent. Another one of the bars. Very VERY sweet cocktails offered. 2 oz of liquor in'em. Not a bad price. But I chose Stella instead, all night. What I wanted to get, but didn't. Instead... Where I found eats and drinks. I had a nice Monte Cristo sandwich, and a couple of lagers before heading back to the park. -
This is me, a few hours ago, at our first "Playland Nights" night. The VIP Theme was Neon Night and it was a fun evening.

I'll post more later today, but here's a first look at how I did the Neon Party night, at Playland Nights, last night. The ONLY place where they had black lights! -

Actually I have to double post this. Because there's honestly, a great one-two punch for kids at Playland(PNE), too! Playland(PNE): Kettle Creek Mine & Bug Whirled. A great family coaster for kids and their parents! Bit of airtime in it, too. The newest Playland coaster, for kids and parents. And it spins, too!

I have to put this in, for the young coaster riders in the world.... Cedar Point: Woodstock Express & Wilderness Run! And one for the "young at heart".

^ Congrats on all your riding at HW! I really started getting into riding coasters more, in my mid-50s. Now that I'm 66, I can fully appreciate any (literal) body in my age "range" getting into riding coasters more and more. And great to have your husband along for the rides and support! My partner can do only much milder coasters and nothing that has inversions. Such a wimp. I had a terrible fear of heights myself, but coasters and tower drop rides somehow seemed to make me feel easier about it. Until they stop dead on a lift hill etc. Worst - fear - ever! Again, good for you and keep on riding! -
Geez, been a week already? Today's Park 'n' Burger Day #3...uh.... burger is Belgian Fries' Salmon Burger. Served on a nice brioche bun, with lettuce, tomato, and a light tartar sauce. I enjoyed it, but I added some more of the tartar sauce I got with my fries. And that made it a bit more.... is "juicy"the right word? It would to me. And my usual lager complimented this burger & fries. http://www.belgianfries.ca View from the back of the place. My buzzer number. My view. View from the side patio area. Nice beer. Here it is! A bit lacking in seasonings - so I added salt and pepper to taste. Very nice burger. The salmon wasn't dry, and stayed moist thru the entire meal. This becomes #3 on my list, just above the Garden Burger, and below the Ultimate and Chicken Burgers. One more to try... The Beef Burger!

Two new overhead shots of TDLR were published on a Japanese site, today. And upon closer look, it appears (to me) that the first photo is showing the PETER PAN section of Fantasy Springs in TDS being built. And you can just make out SOARING (and it's show building) in the middle of the second photo here. By the way, if these two photos were placed side by side, this would be an awesome panoramic shot of (most of) all the TDLR! Above the PP construction area, is where I believe/think that the Tangled section will go. And the entry pathway will enter between them. What I think/believe. (o: Thanks to whoever (you are) got these great overhead shots and posted them. Arigato! (o: Right in the middle there, is SOARING~Fantastic Flight. Opening July 23rd! -
^ Sounds like you had a really great, non-stressful time there at the parks. I'm hoping for the 2nd week after Labor Day weekend, being nice and workable. But I'm betting that these are not blackout times for Major Pass Holders, during September. Then again, I am also hoping for the SOFT OPENING of Resistance, too.

"And then there was the day I forgot my camera..." Yeah, the above says it all about today. Idiot bear. So, here's the photos (what few there are) of my visit on Saturday. And for the record, today was literally half the crowd it was on Saturday. I got five rides on Coaster and could have stayed there through the (HOT HOT HOT) afternoon for more rides. But five was enough for me, for now. Another chance will come along, soon enough I am sure. And I also forgot to get myself one of them Beaver Tails (an oblong-shaped funnel cake) for today...because it was Canada Day of course! Happy 152nd Birthday, Canada! (And I'll try to remember, NOT to forget The *(%GRR#@s Camera next visit.) This was Saturday. But today was literally a "walk in". (o; More permanent wood structures for the gp. Still running today, too. -
