  1. I still love that video on the previous page. It looks like a real coaster win for everybody!
  2. And thus, we got this thread.... https://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=76713 "Ride Like The Wind, Bullseye!"
  3. good lyric - "She's got the best of everything."
  4. This was on my 2019 PNE Gate Pass (which is good for the entire fair), and although there isn't a coaster in it, this sunset in back of Playland, which is lighting up for the night, is pretty cool, IMhO. Great shot, I thought it was. (o: Photo from PNE.
  5. I/Canada apologies for Ninja. It was originally our Scream Machine at the 1986 World's Fair (EXPO86) in Vancouver. And believe it, it had to be fit between two elevated roadways between the east neighbourhoods, and into downtown (our Viaduct). Also, ARROW went bankrupt after starting it back then, and it was taken over and finished by VEKOMA. But that second loop into a sudden "turn" had to be created to fit where it was located. It was just as WTF then, as it is today. But hey - that's SF:StL's problem now, ha ha. p.s. Happy 33rd Birthday, Ninja! Where Scream Machine (Ninja) was located, at the 1986 World's Fair site. Photo from Vancouver Archives. WORLD'S FAIR TRIVIA: On it's left was the World's Tallest Hockey Stick, and to it's left was a MAG LEV train demo vehicle (to ride), at the Japan Pavilion. Station was under that grey rectangle overhang. (o: It was a great fair!
  6. Happy Dad's Day! ~ And testing, testing, testing... Well, I am really convinced that Sundays are the days (for now) to get a number of good rides on Coaster, and not deal with crowds. Until 2 pm...ish. I was told that rock concerts happen around 2 pm on the PNE Concert Stage. And it gets real slammed around that time, I was told by ride ops. So with that in mind, I didn't stay past 1 pm or so. But - the crowd was so light I got 7 rides on Coaster! And I could've gotten more, but having ridden practically every seat in the train (except the back one - won't go near that), I called it enough, for the day. And The Swinger was testing, testing, testing, and more testing today! I spoke with the operator, and it seems they're having probs with slowing it down better, and lowering it faster, for unloading. I must admit, when I got that one ride in on Opening Day, it was ooooh soooo sloooow in getting us back to the ground. Freeky slow. Anyway, Dads and Pops and Fathers everywhere, treating their kids (and other family members) to a day at The Park. Good for them! At first I thought there were actual riders on it. But then I see... Lucky water dummies. Yellow going up. Yellow going down. It was really quiet and not that crowded while I was there. Meanwhile... AFTS: Artsy Fartsy Testing Shot. And my Sunday there is done!
  7. ^ Have a great trip! ...And don't forget film, ha ha! On the park's Main Street. TPR 2010 Europe Tour.
  8. What a great looking ornament! I got the Maverick one when we were there. Wish I'd bought more of these.
  9. And for this weekend time between park visit postings... Here's the other selfie I tried to be....uh...creative with. Well, I tried. And there was crap on that mirror, too. Off of my PNE Gate Pass ticket. Which is good for the whole two week Fair. (o:
  10. Actually, I like the unappetizing sound of "cherry herring", anyway.
  11. Who knows if either will ever build a separate park/resort in another city, again. But that said....Honolulu. Or Kechikan. Just saying.
  12. ^ Um, what the heck is "cherry herring"...? It's in the Rum Runner. List looks great!
  13. ^ And this ride, not so much of any soft opening?
  14. Weren't the original waiting times for Journey and Escape ridiculous, too? Trying to remember....
  15. And now that you've said it.....?
  16. First weekday the park was open, today. And the crowd was bigger than I expected. Definitely a few organizations had brought groups there for the day. And although I tried to ride Coaster more than once, the queue just kept building up before I even got off that first ride. And the wait in the current heat and humidity for a 2nd ride wasn't worth it, for myself. So one ride on Coaster, one ride on Bug Whirled, and one ride on the Wheel. No popcorn, Ice Ball games.....or fudge, today. I'll be back on Sunday. P.S. "Playland Open Daily" means it's open only from 10 am to 3 pm Mon-Fri. Weekends are still longer hours. Till July. http://www.pne.ca Now Open Daily. But....not that *^!&*@ Swinger! The Beast is back in action. For all you chain lift nerds. Ooooh, wonder what's happening here? omg The Ride Side Bar is open! Alas, not the bar itself, but just the seating area for a private event. Still ~ Not ~ Sold ~ Yet. Revelation is running again, too. Pardon my fuzzy focus. And....A bad selfie, taken on the Carousel. And Friday's visit is over.
  17. From the net.... Yum!
  18. It's all in the landscaping and fake rock work.
  19. and i say it again go raptors
  20. ^ Well, you are going backwards at that point. And in the dark, it probably won't even be noticed. Still, I understand the lack of "atmospheric theming" there on that bldg's wall. They could have gone a bit more "realistic" with it. P.S. I'm talking about that drop-track bldg. Is that what your post is about? Pardon, if it isn't. And I forgot.....^ "SPOILER ALERT".
  21. So now the question, for myself, is how this thing runs at night with lighting everywhere?
  22. ^ It looks like the same wonderful cast we saw of CFA that toured here, several months ago. It was really a phenomenal show, considering it wasn't a high end epic musical. But so epic in other ways. Writing was brilliant, the songs moved in and out of the story so easily, and by the end of it, we were just bursting to get out of our seats and give them a Standing O. Really a great show we will see again, should it pass by our way again. And I got the tour t-shirt too. Had to! And the souvenir program is really great, showcasing all the history of The Event and how the musical came to be. Really inspiring production.
