And TheRapidsNerd, I'm judging by your username you like rapids, as do I. I had to get pics of it. Well....maybe just a little. Glad you did get those pics too. Just wow. There really isn't anything I can say that hasn't already been said. Good to meet another rapids fan and looking forward to the next round. You're coverage of all this is excellent. -

Thanks for posting a little of Grizzly Run. I vote for this being a front page story, what with the extensive and detailed pics. What says everyone? -

The plot thickens. Now who does one believe in this mess? Neither side has a good track record. -

(quietly shakes head) Thank you for taking time to get so many pics and share them. It's much appreciated. -

We request the honor of your presence for the blessed union of: X2 and Flume Zoom at the 1st S&S Arrow Chapel of Love and Creative Developement this Saturday at 2pm with reception to follow. Punch and Pie will be served. A curious concept in deed. -
Lol! Yes, I did, however, the shot's at a distance, and though you can see what she's doing, you can't see much detail due to the lighting. At the time, when the boat went by, she smiled at me and was adjusting her bikini top. I thought nothing of it. It wasn't until I got home a couple days later, that I realized what happened...and roared! Back to the topic at hand, it seemed like Alpie's MCBR was on moderatly during last years visit. The train slowed quite a bit there, but seemed to pace well through the rest of the course. Dunno if that helps any, but it's an outside observation.

Wow! A kiddie coaster evac. Sorry it broke down on you. That really is the pits.

Very eerie and cool night time Griffon sign shot. Not smart for the kid to jump in Roman Rapids, and good job ride op. You know, curious things seem to happen around that particular rapids. During my trip last year, some random girl flashed me while I was taking pictures. Ahhhh, what great memories...

Mmmm sushi.....Oh, sorry, good to see another update. Mmm sushi.....

Thought this was Goliath, not Hurler. Mindbender is just defiled. That advertising doesn't tie in with Gotham City at all. With all the signs, park maps, coupons, photo spots, and other park advertising, are vinyls on a coaster train really necessary? Talk about Add-Nauseum! /end rant Back to the truly important part of this TR, the pics. Wicked awesome! My camcorder is hiding in the back of the closet, in the fetal position, crying. Just gorgeous pics.

Sounds like ACE may want to, but doesn't have the funds or time to arrange dismantle, transport, and/or storage for Big Dipper. Maybe they can get the trains for the museum if they haven't already. Interesting read. -
No worries. Just trying to get an idea of how IOA started out and if Hard Rock's start was anything like it. Not knocking either. IOA was the only other decent size new and big park in the 48 I could think of in the last several years. Glad you clarified that IOA did better because of USO. Thanks for anwering my question too. Hard Rock Cafe food has never really been all that great. DC and USO were fun atmospheres, but my burgers didn't rock. Agree with you that the food should be better. Always glad to see a Hard Rock Park TR. Reed, Thanks for posting this.

Like other's have said, if you outsource the menial AA stuff, it does free up the creative folks to work on a next gen (and beyond) lucky. You have more focused resources and better chances for a quality product, not to mention all the cost stuff pointed out. It sounds a little icky at first, but if "Lucky 2.0: Now with Fire and Karate Chop Action" comes out really great AND helps tell a good story, why not? Lucky, Muppet Mobile Labs, and now Wall-E are stunning pieces of work, btw.

Now you have to admit, Pepsi Orange Streak, like Flying Unicorn, has one of the best acronyms ever. I dig the new train shells. As far as what we grew up with on Nick: Needs a Slime Geyser. -
Ok, this might be a dumb question, but was IOA like this when it opened? I chalk the attendance up to 1st year shake downs and all the stuff cfc mentioned. The gut says this might just be a slow starter, and that it'll get much better around year 2 or 3. The 6th sense still keeps saying rapids ride and water park.

Photo TR - Disney World and Disney Wonder
TheRapidsNerd replied to Godwyn's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hey, glad to see more of this one. The castle breakfast sounds pretty cool and neat to see some of the interior. The pics with Disney Charactors are a hoot, not to mention the security guards! As far as Dee Snider, there's a little resemblence...kinda...but it doesn't immediately cross ones mind. Hope that helps a bit. If it makes you feel better, when I had the permed mullet, somebody grabbed my arse in a mall, and asked for an autograph because they thought I was Joe Elliot from Def Leppard. While flattering, I look nothing like the guy. -

Photo TR : 6/11/08 Gorky Park, Moscow and much more
TheRapidsNerd replied to Groteslurf's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This is so awesome! And here's why: I just researched this park a couple months ago and have always wondered what Moscow was like. Up to now, Gorky Park was a movie and a Russian metal band. Never knew there was an actual theme park of sorts. There is also Iron Maiden, Lock Trees, and my favorite, McDonaldski. Thank you and outstanding! -

Even back in 92, the friendliness and just fun of the rather small park at that time, was great. Our high school trip was REALLY surprised. Glad it's still going strong. Dave and Falafel, you brought back some great memories and make me really want to go back.
