  1. Fave Arrow? Pipeline Coaster Prototype. Always thought that concept was cool.
  2. Opinions are like backsides. Everybody has one and they're all shaped differently. Glean from that what you will. Fixed.
  3. This brought back some great memories! My first NBA game was Washington Bullets vs. Celtics (with Larry Bird) at the Capital Centre in Landover, Md. around 86-89. Was also a huge hockey fan during this time and Moog was one of my faves, up there with Pete Peters, Don Beaupre, etc. There was also some up and coming guy named Koltzig on the Skip Jacks. Used to watch the Bruins and Caps games on Home Team Sports. Yeah, the Celtics are special to me too. Excellent TR!
  4. Man this is a rough year for celebs. Carlin, Diddly, Winston. Wow.
  5. Looks like a fun time to me. Heh, now I'm all hungry... Finger lickin good TR.
  6. Interesting idea. Integrate that with a Q-Bot system and it could be be a winner. Still, it just seems like one more thing to carry (aside from keys, camera, cell phone, what have you), and I can pretty much do all the same navigating with a standard park map and signs. What happens if it gets wet? Is it waterproof? I guess it could entertain you while standing in line or waiting for a show, but the pros don't out-weigh the cons.
  7. Very cool! Interesting to see this take on a Nick area after seeing the change over at Mall of America. Mission to Mars and Ghost Chaser looked like fun coasters. Were you thinking ribbons or streamers that went everywhere instead of confetti? And the food....the glorious, mouth watering food...
  8. Great update man! This pic gave me a great laugh! I applaud the dedication and would've done the same. Awesome!
  9. Love the park and LOVE the guards. I've gotta check this place out.
  10. Glad you had a safe flight and thanks in advance for the stellar coverage. Hope everybody has a good time over there.
  11. This is just an unfortunate situation all around. To offer a possible resolution, perhaps if ACE was still interested in Big Dipper, they could contact the new owners and work a deal that's mutually beneficial. Long shot, sure, but why not at this point? The coaster will be partially preserved at it's new home, and could be fitted with new replica trains later (depending on the the old trains' condition). This at least buys time to make new plans and discuss options, if that's even possible. The other thing I see here is that, regardless of the internal stuff at ACE, the current fund raising strategy isn't working. They need help financially to accomplish their goal of preserving coasters. If they take on outside financial backing, however, they risk giving up their neutrality. Translation, to accomplish their goals, ACE needs to make changes. They're boxed in, and financially limited otherwise. As for the coaster museum, maybe they could scale back the design some and build in smaller pieces over the next several years. Start with a small building or two on some land, get it open and bring some cash in, then build the next building at the site, wash, rinse, repeat. Add some vending and souvenirs too. They have at least a couple sets of trains and smaller memoribilia to get started. Yes, it's a small start, but it's still a start, instead of nothing. Just some good-willed observations and musings.
  12. You've done a great job documenting things. The detail and historical value are wonderful...especially for modelers and simulators later. Great references. No worries on crazy work schedules. Hang in there and we'll be glad to see the next round when you're ready.
  13. Ahh, ok, I understand the picture thing now. Much appreciated.
  14. Great vid! Coaster Palooza, thanks for putting this link up. I missed the original. JZ, again, great Goliath pics. Gotta ask, was the pic that was deleted and joke about too much pizza showing somebody shouting at their shoes? Sounded like it, but wasn't sure.
  15. Thank you. Pure guess followed by a Google check. Recognized the song ref but couldn't remember the artist. Anyway, got a good laugh of Monorail Bingo or Roulette? And dude, that Frank was ginormous. (Try's to step carefully through the Innuendo Minefield.)
  16. I bow to your superior caption wit. And perhaps Corey Hart would have sunglasses..at night?
  17. Wow! 20 minute Behemoth wait? That's great! And pics with the Canadian Enthusiast Groundhog are winners. Enjoyed this one. Thank you.
  18. I'd vote for SFA and BGE. You'll have already done SFGAdv, and SFNE and SFA have so-so reputations. At least with the SFA trip, you're decently close to BGE and a new credit in Griffon. Depending on time, etc., there's an off chance for Water Country USA and King's Dominion close by...with Dominator. Either way, hope it's a good set of trips.
  19. Hopefully everything comes out all right in the end, despite this thing being the butt of many jokes. Nothing like a little cheeky humor on a saturday morning eh?
  20. Grizzly River Rampage. Oh, you meant Coaster Tunnel... In that case, Chaos.
  21. Agreed with the others. KD on Saturday seems a better bet and wind up the weekend on a high note with BGE Sunday. Since we're giving advice here, when in Rome, don't swim in the rapids. Heh, just realized Avalanche Bobsled was my last credit...in 88 or 89. Anyway have a great time this weekend and enjoy both parks.
  22. Posting photo TRs can be VERY tiring. Glad you did put this series out for us to enjoy. Hey, it really is appreciated, especially by people like me who have never been to Asia, or the rest of the planet (yet). You did good.
  23. You know, I almost expected an Ace Ventura reference with the budgie pics. Either way, talk about fowl humor. Heh, guess the last joke was flocking bad or just for the birds. S'ok, Lou, your updates are always a tweet. BTW, RIP Cyclone, excellent Maxamillion Black Hole avatar.
  24. And I was hoping for a Steak N Shake. Mmmmmm, Steak N Shake....
  25. Great update! Got a good laugh out of that pic an caption and Emily getting her courage from you all is a cool story. Oh, right. Lou........likes..........cows......ok got it.
