  1. My local CBS affiliate, WTKR, picked up Deal for the 4 and 4:30 slots, and dumped TMZ. I'll have to check out Deal tomorrow, I'm at school when Millionaire comes on.
  2. I'll add you to my prayers and have a safe, speedy recovery!
  3. ^How has someone so inexperienced come so close to becoming president? - 3 years in the senate - only showed up for 143 days - voted "present" most of the time instead of voting on important issues - Decided to run for president from day one - has no political accomplishments - has a way with words, but has no actions to suport his words I'd rather have an inexperienced VP instead of an inexperienced president.
  4. ^And please enlighten me, where is that money coming from. It's not there.
  5. I can sum up this thread pretty easily...to each his own. Obama's campaign slogan is "Change we can believe it" and all of his supporters say "I want change." Okay, but in what sense? What changes do you want and why? Every president has brought change whether that was their platform or not, and we all believed it during the campaign, until reality sunk in and they took office. I think that will be the case here, as every politician has made promises they can't keep. He's no different, he's just a good speaker. Actions speak louder than words, and he has no actions to support his words. You do realize that for all of his "change" to occur, it has to go through Congress, and their approval rating is 9%. Not one person can "change" Washington, they may be a heavy influence, but they can't do it themselves. What really irks me is when McCain makes a mistake, the media slauters him, but when Obama says he's been to 57 states and said he was in St. Louis when he was in Kansas City at the convention, nothing was said about it.
  6. Great, no, AWESOME photo TR. I hope you got at least one ride in the back on Apollo's Chariot during your visit. Amazing airtime coming out of the block brake in the back.
  7. That has to be the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. It's all about publicity, I find it extremely, extremely hard to believe that this would happen.
  8. This is downright rediculous. How low will PETA go? You know the animals within SeaWorld are better cared for then they would be in the wild, and to the ones that were born in SeaWorld, it would be suicide to let them out into the wild on their own.
  9. ^Or they could extend the school day another hour or so.
  10. I don't believe that is completely true. I know for a fact Hydra the Revenge at Dorney Park does not have magnetic brakes. I also believe the Superman Ultimate Flight's at SFGADV and SFGAM do not have magnetic brakes either. Hydra was built in 2005, the Superman Ultimate Flight's were built in 2003, and Silver Star was built in 2002. I don't believe any of the B&M inverts have mag brakes, either.
  11. Your tour guide was Larry Giles, the head of design and engineering over at Euroberg. I actually had a chance to meet him last year, and he took me into DarKastle and Alpengeist's train barn. He's a super-nice guy.
  12. Nice pictures! From the TV news geek in me, I love those ENG van/truck pictures. WISH is a Lin station and WRTV is McGraw-Hill, right?

  14. I'm all for McCain. I've just always liked him. From Obama's views on issues, there's just something that screams socialism. To me, Obama is just a smooth talker with a teleprompter to crowds. When interviewed one on one, he doesn't know how to answer a simple question. I think it's reidiculous that some actually believe that Obama is more experienced than McCain, like Wesley Clark. McCain's 26 yeas in Washington plus military service versus Obama's three years in the Senate. Wow, that's some real experience. He has no accomplisments as he's voted "present" the majority of the time he's been in Congress. Remember, this is this guy who said there's 57 states and thinks inflating your tires will solve our energy problems.
  15. ^^Yeah, and parks don't judge how they operate on the number of coasters they have, unles your CP. It's not always just about coasters, it's the overall atmosphere and quality of the park.
  16. Virginia has had a site like this for years.
  17. "M" Stands for Major New Busch Gardens Attraction New Sesame Street Area Debuts in 2009, Expands Park's Boundaries and Kid Offerings WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Aug. 8, 2008) - "Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?" Just follow the signs to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va., as the park expands its children's offerings with a new home for Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and Big Bird. The new Sesame Street attraction opens spring 2009, adding an all-new village adjacent to the England section of the park. Four new anchor rides offer kid-size versions of popular attractions, including a junior roller coaster and log flume themed after Sesame's beloved characters and designed for parents and children to share together. This new European-themed Sesame Street village will feature wet and dry play areas with net-and-rope climbs, retail and food outlets, including character dining, a 4-D movie, several stage performances by some of Sesame Street's most beloved characters, and a "1, 2, 3 Smile With Me" photo studio so families can capture memorable moments of their children interacting with Sesame Street's characters. England's 900-seat Globe Theatre will be taken over by Sesame Street's biggest stars in a new 4-D movie that is as fun as it is imaginative. "Sesame Street presents Lights, Camera, Imagination!" features Elmo, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, Big Bird and others trying to save the Sesame Street Film Festival. Guests will not only see and hear the action - they will be immersed in it through state-of-the art visual effects and sensory surprises. Families that want even more Sesame Street interaction can dine with Elmo and mingle with the cast of characters over breakfast or lunch at a Sesame Street-themed, indoor dining facility. Parents and children can pose for pictures with the furry red monster and his Sesame Street friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime. "Sesame Street and Busch Gardens are both brands known for their unwavering commitment to quality. Combining the familiarity of Sesame Street's characters and Busch Gardens' family-friendly atmosphere makes for a natural partnership between these two iconic brands," said John Reilly, general manager and executive vice president of Busch Gardens. "The new Sesame Street attraction provides our youngest guests with kid-size versions of our grown-up rides, offering them an introduction to the park that only Busch Gardens and Sesame Workshop can offer." The Sesame Street-themed area expands Busch Gardens' kid-focused attractions. The park's current lineup of kid friendly rides and attractions will remain, including the popular Land of the Dragons play area and junior rides throughout the park. For nearly 40 years, Sesame Street has been engaging audiences around the world. The creation of Sesame Street-themed attractions is part of a long-term relationship announced in 2006 between the non-profit educational organization Sesame Workshop, and the Worlds of Discovery® parks. Busch Gardens is a Worlds of Discovery park. Other Worlds of Discovery parks include Water Country USA in Williamsburg; Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fl.; the SeaWorld parks in San Diego, San Antonio and Orlando, Fl.; Sesame Place near Philadelphia; Discovery Cove in Orlando; Adventure Island in Tampa; and Aquatica, SeaWorld's water park, in Orlando. Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit educational organization that changed television forever with the legendary Sesame Street. As the single largest informal educator of young children, local Sesame Street programs produced in countries as diverse as South Africa, Bangladesh and India are making a difference in over 120 nations. Using proprietary research to create engaging and enriching content, Sesame Workshop produces programs such as Dragon Tales and Pinky Dinky Doo. In addition, multimedia needs-driven initiatives provide families tools for addressing such issues as children's health, military deployment and emergency preparedness. As a nonprofit, product proceeds and philanthropic donations support Sesame Workshop's educational research and creative content for children around the world. 18. It would be nice if they could at least spell Griffon correctly, but nonetheless, those were pretty creative.
  19. Well, if you're gonna be there on Saturday, why not just check out The Guess Who concert. You'll have plenty of time to ride evrything multiple times over two days.
  20. This is a little old, but I didn't think the GP was this bad. Watch the video. http://www.wlwt.com/entertainment/16980851/detail.html
  21. You don't have to tell me. I'm a TV news geek myself. I could tell you about graphics, sets, bumpers, stingers, the list goes on. I just think it would be common sense that it's not open yet and they shouldn't ask "how it felt."
  22. News anchors can be just stupid at times. On WCPO, as they were tossing it to the reporter, the anchor asked, "Now, have you riden it yet and could you tell us how it felt."
  23. I saw $3.48 at a Hess in Williamston, NC.
  24. I believe the drop is mediocre because that trim after the lift is always on very heavy, and it's heavily trimmed in the block. It's just an overall heavily trimmed ride, but I still enjoy it.
  25. ^They're getting three flats from Geauga.
