  1. ^Largely what he said. I rode it a couple times the year Richard Rodriguez did his marathon on it. (Was that 2000?) I liked it, but I did feel it was a little rougher than it needed to be. I figure it was the trains. Some PTC's or MAYBE Millenium Flyers would have been a better choice. (My vote is for PTC's.) I have heard that it hasn't aged well, but the recent retracking has offset some of that. I'd say, go, ride it, but don't expect the greatest coaster in the world, and form your own opinion!
  2. I'm just glad that there are only four Morgan's in the world I haven't ridden and one of those is a family coaster and two are ones I'm not likely to actually ride.
  3. When do you start working on parks OUTSIDE the US?
  4. Although I wouldn't consider this a 'compact' coaster, thank you for the picture! Now I can see that this and Aska aren't exact clones!
  5. Thanks, Dave. (I'm at just over 1000 total streams and downloads already, so my fingers are crossed that it isn't my fault if the site crashes again!) The natural noise at this time is mostly construction equipment engines, banging and metallic clanging, so I figure I'd better say SOMETHING! The only bad thing is after I edited and posted it, I realized I say the same phrase three times in the end result. I hope that phrase doesn't get rubbed in too much!
  6. 9/11 reference! Whee! OK Sorry about that. Terrible tragedy. If they were having problems the night before, it sounds like the inevitible lawsuit will have teeth. For the 6th car to derail as thoroughly as it did, and partially derail the 5th car, is pretty catastrophic failure of the train. Are these trailered trains? If so, then it's just really bad. If not, then it's even worse! I have to agree that all the Morgan 'hypers' need a good examination before operating tomorrow, if even that soon. X-ray those trains, before something worse happens.
  7. Soon. Soon I will fill the void in my track record that is Holiday World. Alas, it's not going to happen this year, but soon.
  8. You've got to pay for food on the UK trip, eh?
  9. Achoo! Achoo! Sorry, I'm allergic to cats!
  10. Just because it's an Eurofighter, that doesn't mean it can't have a 40 foot lift hill! I think the park is trying to shift it's image and skew it's target market up.
  11. Why is Hello Kitty still wearing my sailor's hat?
  12. Yes, but not lately. Do you believe in Sandy Claws?
  13. ^ Koo Koo for Cocoa Puffs! < Crazy, like a fox! \/ Remarkably normal, considering...
  14. The Frog Hopper is based on the Frequent Faller coaster that was supposed to have it's first installation at Hersheypark last year. There was a big ruckus about the rising costs, and the end result was Hershey didn't get the ride and the company has yet to put one in anywhere.
  15. Saturday: Parque Espana Sunday: Higashiyama Zoo Monday: Yomiuriland / Don Quijote
  16. ^^ You're welcome, darling! Yes, the bus is generally easier. As long as it doesn't get caught in traffic. (Ie, it's not August!) The train info: Chuo line to Otsuka station. Fujikyu line to Fujikyu Highlands station.
  17. I can't see the pictures on pointbuzz, either. I even tried logging out, closing my browser and starting over.
  18. ^Wow could you have found an older picture to use of Revolution at BPPB? I like George. He's even weirder now that he's been installed. http://rcdb.com/ig3254.htm?picture=27 (Video is up of Eejanaika construction.)
  19. OK: Easy. You can't get me on a Skycoaster. Starflyer. I have yet to see one in person, but I don't like Wave Swingers on the ground, and couple that with my fear of heights, and you get a ride that scares the crap out of me. Blue Fall passes my threshold for heights about 60% of the way to the top. Most drop rides don't quite get to me because they aren't as tall and thus don't spend as much time above my comfort height (which varies depending on restraints). Unrestrained, I tend to not like anything above three stories. Throw in good OTSR's and I'm good to at least 150-175 feet. Coasters don't stay in place long enough for me to really get nervous. I'm sure if I got stuck on MF's lift hill I wouldn't be happy for long!
  20. That's actually old news. They had that at IAAPA. The best part is someone is copying Vekoma instead of the other way around!
  21. OK new day, new page, and we are further removed from DubaiDave crashing the site. (Just kidding Dave, who knew?) Here is the short video I made from my walk around the construction site for Eejanaika. I am thinking that this provides a little perspective on the ride. I hope everyone likes it! Be gentle, I know I'm not as awesome or as funny or as cool as Robb! Eejanaika_16May06.zip The Video! Eejanaika_16May06.wmv Added a streaming version. --Robb
  22. I said I'd post some pictures of Blue Fall as seen from my place of work. Here they are: No zoom 6x Zoom, it's easier to see without a camera, but it really isn't that far. 3x zoom
  23. ^^ S&S Power bought out Arrow for a steal after it went bankrupt right after completing X. That gave them the plans and rights to the 4D system created by Arrow. This is the first such creation by S&S since. It isn't too big of a surprise that Fuji-Q is installing this, as they were one of the first parks to buy a shot tower outside the US (Red Tower), and they bought the second air launched coaster as well (Dodonpa). There have supposedly been changes to the train to make it lighter and more reliable. Originally, it was thought that there would only be a single rail to control the seat rotation, but obviously that hasn't happened on this installation.
  24. Aqua Wind @ Lagunasia last night at about 7:30 PM. Whoah! A park in japan open after 4 PM? A rarity indeed! It was my #474, getting there!
  25. Captain, Isn't Sakura (cherry blossom) season amazing? I usually go to natural parks instead of amusement parks in the week or two that the blossoms are around, but Just driving around is enough as there are cherry trees EVERYWHERE! I'm glad you like Hirakata, it really is a hidden gem. (Not for rides, but the theming is really quite surprising. I did that and Nara Dreamland the same day! There's a definition of contrast for you!) A lot of the parks have a roof over their entrance plaza, (USJ, TDL, etc.) it really does rain a lot here!
