The adventure of Lil' Robby Robb
rollermonkey replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry, I typed: Lil' Robb has Vekoma cooties! Thank FlipDude for that valuable information. In a couple places around the boards. I hope that doing so causes people to come look for your comics. -

Any other theme parks near London?
rollermonkey replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't describe Alton as being 'near' London, though. If you're renting a car, then it isn't so bad. If you are relying on UK public transportation to get you to Alton, ouch. (I had a wee bit of a bad expereince getting from Blackpool to Alton.) -

...well then you've made an error, because it is the one at fuji-q Weird, that photo must be from behind the park (near the train station at the back entrance) as I never saw it from that angle. I just don't remember the yellow tarp being there on the two trips to Fuji-Q I made while it was still there. Nice cartoon, by the way. Will we be seeing more of your work anytime soon? I'm hoping so! -
Another Sad-and-Pathetic Photo TR: Water Country USA
rollermonkey replied to cfc's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I remember once as a young and very dumb kid I paid for a package at the old waterslides at Salisbury Beach (before it was Pirates Fun Park). It was 30 minutes on the normal twisting slide and 3 rides on the toboggan or speed slide. I finished my time on the standard slide, rode the speed slide and hated it because you caught air and when you landed it hurt. (Not to mention how scary it was.) Then I rode the toboggan water slide. To this day, it was the scariest water ride I have ever been on! I rode the speed slide again, and nearly broke my fingers when I landed because of the position they enforced on that slide. Ah... The lousy and sometimes painful memories of the park I refuse to admit was my first home park. I claim Canobie Lake! Down with Pirates Not Very Fun Park! -
Yesish. Only one micro-meet. I drove Robb and Elissa to Nasu Highlands. Do you like bananas?

So, what coaster was that? It's not either of the Double Loop coasters I know of... (Fuji-Q and Seoul Land) -
What next for Magic Mountain?
rollermonkey replied to TheMan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know what they SHOULD do. Between Deja Vu and the whitewater river is room for a path. They should put a path through there into The Land of the Giants. The long discussed, never realized giant flat package from Huss would be a nice people eater, and 6FMM is sorely in need of some new flats. What's behind there, anyway? Do they own enough land back there to make a path around to the area next to Viper's station? -

Very nice! I have to agree, but we have no idea what Phantasialand is paying for all this, do we? -
It looks like there will be another surge in this type of question! Dude, those of us who are GOING on the trip don't even have access to the itinerary yet! I am waiting next to my mail box though, Elissa!

I can't believe how slowly the ToT construction at DLP is going. I just drove down the C2 (Central Circular 2) to the B (Bayshore) earlier today. For the first time, I noticed TDS' ToT from there. (About three miles) It looks like it is as tall as Mount Prometheus! It is definitely quite a bit taller than anything in TDL. I'm just happy to know that I'll finally get to ride any version of ToT in September! (And it wil be the TDS one, so I'll be sure to do a TR on it.)

Unless I get out of work really, really early one day this week, (before lunch) I'll be going out there on Saturday the 20th.
