  1. I've never actually been in it, but just the looks of it make it seem like paying anything is too much. It doesn't look like anything spectacular and doesn't seem to really offer any unique slides. Maybe I've been spoiled with a park that offers a free water park, but I don't think I'd ever pay for a water park that is attached to a park.
  2. Recently I was able to ride Behemoth about 7 times in a day, mostly all in the front. I would normally never do that, but because the line never lasted more than 15min, we didn't care. I much rather spread my time throughout the entire park and ride all the rides.
  3. Mean Streak destroys my back every time I ride it. Mighty Canadian Minebuster gives me headaches, hence why I've always called it the Mindbuster. Seriously, because of all the headaches it gave me, I actually thought it was called the Mindbuster well into my teenage years and I actually started looking at signs and maps. Wildcat at Hershey, especially since adding the Millennium Flyer trains. The PTC trains beat me up, then the MF trains just really knocked it further down my list. Predator at Darien Lake. Last time I went with my friend a few years ago I just remember thinking "when will this damn thing end?!" Shame, since when I rode it as a kid, I loved it. Top Gun/Flight Deck @ PCW and any other SLC coasters. I actually do my best to avoid it, but if my friends want to ride, I will usually do it for them.
  4. I spent a couple bucks on one at Pier 39 in SF. Prizes were Nintendo Wii, iPod Touch, and Coach Purses with their receipts still in it. I figured I could probably sit there with the money I would spend on one of those items and win it for less. But seeing this video, maybe not.
  5. If Earth was able to meet those conditions, whats to say at least one of the billions of other planets in the entire universe doesn't meet them as well. Look at this picture. Every one of those dots is a galaxy, inside each of those galaxies are millions of stars, and orbiting around some of those stars are planets. The odds of one of those stars and planets not being somewhat similar to Earth are just crazy. I definitely think that there is life out there, and I am pretty sure a very small percentage of it is intelligent. But, as others have said, we probably will never see them or hear from them. We started as a single celled organism, so what's to say that single celled organisms on other planets aren't going to go through what we went through.
  6. Don't worry, Jays will be back in that spot soon enough.
  7. Thankfully my annual CP trip isn't until HalloWeekends, so I'm not too worried about this. Does look pretty serious though.
  8. LaRonde has the Nintendo video game dome. But that was there before Six Flags took over.
  9. As long as the team comes back to Canada, I will be happy. Hockey teams will actually flourish here, instead of wait to die like Phoenix. While Winnipeg would be great, there is a bigger fan base in Southern Ontario.
  10. Right now I'm actually more interested in what's going to happen to the Coyotes than the playoffs. I hope to God that they get moved to Canada; back to Winnipeg, or (even better) to Southern Ontario.
  11. Whats with the talk of Disney unable to find employees? I keep hearing that they are letting cast members go. If you ask me, it sounds like they have enough employees, but need to let some go to stay within a better budget. I'm pretty sure if a new park was ever built, they would have enough cast members, either from local residents, or college program, as others have suggested.
  12. I don't see how it fits the description of park. Nothing in the article pointed it to being any kind of park, but more of a place where you can learn sex through displays and workshops.
  13. I'm not quit sure how this is misleading, unless it was advertised as a family fun park with kids shows and a go-gator, which doesn't seem to be the case... I believe it was misleading because they called it a theme park, when (from what I've read) there were no rides planned at all. It seemed more of a museum/sex education center.
  14. I for one have no problem with this "hidden" fee being tacked on at the end. Pretty much everything you buy online has some kind of fee at the end, whether it's a "convenience" charge, shipping charge, location charge, tax, etc. In today's world, it's a given. I hate when companies just give a flat rate; to me, it's just like they're lying to me. The companies that tack it on at the end are at least being honest about what they're charging you. A company that bundles it all together might seem more expensive when everything is hidden. Example, this new cell phone company here advertises that they have no system access fee. Yet, looking at the price of my plan ($25/month + access fee) and a price of the exact same plan with them ($30/month), they're still charging the access fee, it's just hidden, but it seems like a bit of a rip off.
  15. The original article, screamscape, and any other places complaining about the charge just seems to like complaining at everything Six Flags does that they deem "bad customer service." As plenty of people have pointed out; it's still a discounted ticket, and tons of other companies (not just parks) do it. When I bought my tickets online for SFDK back in December, I would have gladly paid $5 to print them because they were already so cheap. When companies charge full price, plus print at home fees, then some bitching and moaning is justified.
  16. I picked up tickets to Offspring's stop in Toronto. I've been waiting to see them again since their tour for Conspiracy of One. July is looking good so far: Offspring on the 2nd, Rise Against on the 31.
  17. Not a bad guess. With one labeled MC (which, we all assume to be mega coaster) and one SC (which, we'd assume is suspended coaster), it makes sense for the sit down-inverting dueling coasters.
  18. Canada's Wonderland has come out on top over Cedar Point quite a bit, in terms of seasonal parks, CW is usually 1-3. Their location really helps with it; right outside Toronto with tons of transit options and the busiest freeways in Canada right there.
  19. The pics look great, seems like they did a really nice job with the theming. I would think they would've themed the castle more the Count, unless he's not really popular anymore. The photo with caption "Topiary Elmo was waiting for me . . ." should read "Topiary Grover was waiting for me . . ." Just look at your pictures of them, Elmo has an orange nose, while Grover has a pink one. It's also got the signature crazy eyes that Grover has. I think I've embarrassed myself for the day with that info.
  20. I don't believe everything I read on FML, but this one is (sadly) very believable.
  21. I did the one at Hershey first year it opened. Having always wanted to try surfing, but having an insane fear of drowning, it's the perfect thing for me. I was able to stay on my board on my belly, except for when I tried to get on my knees and went flying. The photographer was killing himself laughing, but at least I got a good pic out of it. If I ever win a large sum of money, I am so putting one in my backyard. I found this interesting. When looking at their global installations, I couldn't help but notice King's Island... SFKI?
  22. Found this one at LaRonde back in 2006. I like to think that an employee was getting mad at guests, and the stupid questions they tend to ask, and took it upon himself to add to the sign in front of his ride. No Idiots
  23. I'm expecting what I always expect of the Jays. Which isn't very much. I would love just to see them make the playoffs for once in 17 years, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I was going to buy the $95 season pass, but couldn't find anyone that wanted to go to the games with me.
  24. $59...holy crap that's a lot for one ride. But it doesn't surprise me since they charged $120 for a day at Aquaventure in Atlantis (fun, but not $120 fun).
  25. I know this is an older quote, but seriously? The guy made fun of my entire town and nobody here was really offended. In fact, we loved it. We got the Colbert Bump, all because our hockey team threw a bunch of stuffed bears on the ice for charity. Colbert Fans from all over Canada and the US came to our town for Stephen Colbert Day (part of a bet our mayor made with him. We lost, we dedicated a day to him). If anything, this could turn to help Six Flags a little. Colbert has a huge following and most things he mentions on his show directly, or indirectly, gets the Colbert Bump. Seriously, one of the names in the running for the new ISS Module is Colbert and A bridge in Europe was almost named the Stephen Colbert Bridge all because he told his fans to go vote on the websites.
