24 Hour Theme Park?
chemical_echo replied to Emiroo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I worked at Canada's Wonderland when they had a grad night go throughout the night. That was a horrible experience. Like someone already stated, people seem to change when the sun goes down (well, mostly teenagers, but still). Think about it, all those dark places make it the perfect place for people to start thinking "hey, we could have sex here!" Now an event like camp-out at a park wouldn't be too bad. I'm pretty sure the Toronto Zoo does that still. While not a theme park, it was really awesome. We got to do a midnight tour of the park and slept in a semi-themed African Bush camp area. Getting to see and hear the nocturnal animals was awesome...especially the hyenas. I could see that working at parks that are part animal park-part ride park. -
Unless you ate them...but eating a PETA member wouldn't be too satisfying for something like a Polar Bear (my me-animal of choice).

I'm also going for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but it's a tough call. Definitely also excited for Ice Age, Half Blood Prince, and Wolverine.

Guitar Hero World tour Vs. Rock Band 2

All you gotta do is send them an e-mail and they will send you a cable for you to hook your drums up to your computer with a program to change the sensitivity levels on the pads. -

I read over some SFDK reviews since I'm heading to California in a few days. One reviewer likes the word "umph" and tells thrill seekers where to sit on each ride to get the best "umph". Tony Hawk - "...For best umph, ride with the Klumps." All of her other coaster suggestions is just the back seat. Medusa - "As the coaster train is going up, you're thinking 'Wow, this is high up'. Then you reach the peak and think it'll drop, but dips then drops. EPIC FAIL!" Lots of fun reviews to read including lots of profanity and people talking about "ghetto passes," whatever those are.

While those cymbals certainly look cooler than the GH ones, I'm not a fan of them. I don't like how all they do is replace one of the pads. Just seems you can play a blue note on the pad or on the cymbal. Going by that, you can play a song 75-100% cymbals if you feel like it. I know that the game is already programmed to only have 4 pads and a bass pedal, but what they could have done is wait for the next RockBand (Beatles edition, I believe) and have the game programmed to have them all in. -

Holy crap, look how empty Canada's Wonderland looks in those pictures of SkyRider. There's no Vortex, or no lake under where Vortex will eventually go. -
People Jumping the Line / Queue
chemical_echo replied to aldredd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The person leaving the line to go to the bathroom has actually physically left the line and is attempting to come back. I don't see what he did as line jumping since he's still in the line and has only just bought a drink or snack. It's not like his group is now at the front of the line, they're a few people ahead. I don't see why people have a problem with this one since it's not going to slow them down. They had 50 people before them when he was with his group, 49 when he got his snack, and 50 when he got back with his group; they didn't move. The only exception to this is when they physically leave the line for something, because than it's been a good deal longer than just stopping at a vending machine. If parks consider this line jumping then they should get rid of the vending machines in lines. Anyways, when I worked at Canada's Wonderland I spent a day off at the park with my cousins. We were waiting in line for The Bat and getting close to the front when a large group of people jumped the entire line and got in front of us. We told them to leave the line, but they said no and threatened us. I told them I worked there and I would get the supervisor of the ride to come and deal with them. They threatened us again, so I got the supervisor's attention and told him what happened. Security removed them from the line when they got to the station. When we got off the ride, the group looked ready to attack us, but luckily security was still around. -

I agree with KPfreak519 up there. Does it really matter if the drummer is or isn't playing to the actual beat? If you're playing the game, you're not watching the drummer. And if you are, kudos to being able to play while not looking at the notes. -
Ever see a manhunter spider? (I think that's what it's called). My girlfriend's aunt showed me a pic of one from when she lived in Australia. The things apparently come into your house, hide (in places like under your bed blankets), and when you get near it, will actually chase you. I won't be living there anytime soon.

I just read through the whole thread...what is the problem some people are having with the GHWT drums? Mine seem to be working fine, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. -

I picked up my Guitar Hero: World Tour for my PS3 set the day it came out and been playing since. Right now I'm just working my way through easy (even though I've beaten others before I just like to start off easy and work my way up). I love how you have to play gigs this time compared to just picking a song from a list. The three tool songs in a row almost killed my back though. I really need to practice drums though. As soon as I unlocked The Kill I went for it in easy and it still took me three tries to even just beat the song. Love 30STM, but their drums are going to kill me on harder difficulties. -
6 hours for TTD in it's opening year. Well, 6 hours in total. What happened was the line was about 2 hours when we got in, but due to rain the ride was shut down after we had waited about an hour. The rain was light and looked like it would let up so we decided to wait it out. Eventually everyone in the line left and we moved from the middle of a full queue right to the front. After about 6 hours we all got on, got a roll back, and got front of the line passes for another ride (which we used for MF at about 12:30am). We missed out on all the Halloween stuff, but the roll back was pretty damn awesome.

New Dutch themepark for 2011?
chemical_echo replied to Gunaidy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So, it's just a bunch of simulators... I hope they come up with more original names than Fill in the blank Adventure -
It's cheaper to buy a package to Vegas than it is to fly to Vegas. My family just paid just over $500 for 4 days, 3 nights in Caesar's Palace plus round trip flight from Toronto. My girlfriend paid just over $600 for the same length at Planet Hollywood. A flight to Vegas from Toronto is about $600. Hotels are pretty much free if you book a package.

Drop Tower Question

Not just the one at CGA. I used to work on the one at CW and we had to switch people around if the balance light came on.
