  1. I don't think the ceiling is tall enough for a Zacspin to fit in the park. Even if it was a smaller one like Kirnu/Inferno, they'd have to put it in a pit like Avatar.
  2. Coincidentally, I've been on exactly five, so I'll rank those. 1. Banshee 2. Talon 3. Great Bear 4. Raptor 5. Batman (SFGAdv)
  3. Regarding the Side Slide feature on the SFX Coaster... All joking aside, that ride looks like a LOT of fun and appears to be full of potential! Here's hoping more are built. I'm also highly intrigued by that Dome Ride concept...I could see that becoming a big hit as well.
  4. ^ I smell a new element in the making. Now coaster enthusiasts everywhere will want their new rides to have "fishbone turns." I love it!
  5. How much of Guardian's track makes up the outdoor portion? Even if you give CW that much, Knotts is still going to have a LOT more in less space. I look forward to seeing how this turns out, especially if the ride does indeed include physical props.
  6. I have yet to ride an RMC creation, unfortunately, but as far as their re-do projects (as opposed to original rides like Outlaw Run or Goliath) this one looks to me like it could very well give the best ride, with Medusa being close behind.
  7. ^I honestly forgot about those! KD's Windseeker was down when I visited, but I was quite impressed with the lighting on the ones at CP and KI.
  8. You don't like the lights on the Kurve? To each their own, but you're the only person I've heard not to like them. It might be a personal bias towards my home park but I think they look great. As far as LEDs go...here's my favorites. -Kennywood's Bayern Kurve (as mentioned above), Volcano, and Paratrooper as of last summer -Stratofear at Knoebels/X-Scream at Waldameer -Giant Wheel at Cedar Point
  9. Well, let's see here... -I've been on both surviving Tumble Bugs -I've been on every B&M in OH, PA, and NJ -I've been on every Intamin in OH, PA, NJ and VA -I've been on both Flight of Fears -I've been on every Whip, dark ride, Flyer, and train in PA -Until Fury 325 opens, I've been on every 300+ foot full-circuit coaster in the US Almost: -I've been to every major amusement park in PA except Sesame Place -I've been on every operating wooden coaster in PA except Kingdom Coaster -I've been on every non-children's steel coaster in PA except Stinger -I've been on two out of three Backlot Stunt Coasters
  10. Cool idea! I can imagine capacity being a nightmare, but if treated as a game and given a fee, it could be quite a success. I could see other games being adapted into ride hybrids similarly... Water Guns or Roll-A-Ball, anyone? Am I the only one who saw this concept and immediately thought of Maliboomer?
  11. To be more specific, it appears to be replacing Snoopy's Splash Dance.
  12. Let's see here...Not counting home parks? Let's exclude Kennywood and Idlewild then. 2009: Kozmo's Kurves, Yo-Yo at Delgrosso's 2011: Windseeker at Cedar Point, Flying Swings at Waldameer 2012: Skyrush, Black Diamond (this was its first full year) 2013: GateKeeper, Stratosfear at Knoebels, Music Express at Waldameer 2014: Banshee, Flying Turns (again, first full season), Music Express at Delgrosso's, Cocoa Cruiser I *think* that's everything?
  13. I believe T2's difference is the hill before the brake run...it's straight as opposed to the banked "swoop" on other models. I may have 101 coasters as of this post, but I've yet to be on a single SLC, surprisingly. That said, if KI's Invertigo is any indication of the ride experience...I'm not quite looking forward to it.
  14. Oh well...for now, it looks like Grona Lund will just have to keep building on top of itself. Can't wait to see what they have to do to get this new attraction to fit in! It's surprising to me that, based on their ability to add the extra pier with the restaurant, they have only two rides out on piers. Unless it takes up prime boat-docking space, they could easily fit several more flat rides along the boardwalk with new piers.
  15. I'd venture to say the Peanuts 500 is from Knott's as well...making the Space Buggies the only "new" ride in this expansion. Never mind...if Kings Dominion's expanded Planet Snoopy (also done by encompassing their KidZville) is anything to go by, CGA is in for a treat.
  16. That too, but as far as the dry park goes, you can really tell where Herschend poured most of their effort.
  17. On a slightly more interesting note, Google Maps has updated its aerial imagery of Darien Lake to some point from this season, before the reintroduction of the Scrambler. It's pretty interesting to see Rowdy's Ridge and the Boardwalk areas sticking out from the rest of the park (in a good way, mind you---here's hoping similar refreshes occur to other areas in the future!)
  18. Add me to the list of people who only rode Banshee this year...and I loved it! I've only been on five B&M inverts, but it's definitely my favorite and probably my top Kings Island coaster as well. Oh, yeah! I also embraced my inner credit whore and rode Cocoa Cruiser at Hersheypark as well. Sure, it IS a 2014 coaster, but it's not anything noteworthy, so...
  19. Dutch Wonderland and Seabreeze are now available on Street View, but in each case there's a small issue worth noting. In Dutch Wonderland's case, whoever programmed the mapping put numerous places where one can "skip" over large portions of the park in directions the paths don't go. Seabreeze's Street View was done in-house, so it's more limited than most, with a bit less selectivity on where you can stand. However, with the help of a drone, the park also took some cool aerial photos that are also part of Street View there.
  20. That's an interesting spot, and definitely not where I thought a new flat would pop up. But you use the land you have, I guess. I look forward to seeing whatever it is.
  21. ^It is still the original Steel Phantom. It's one of seven (I think?) coasters (only three of which are real IIRC) one can "ride" on it, with Drachen Fire being another. It's even got the original entrance sign hanging above it:
  22. Looks like they threw in another addition when they posted the 2015 page: https://www.cedarpoint.com/rides/New-In-2015/Lakeside-Pavilion This also looks like a very nice addition to the park.
  23. It wouldn't surprise me to see other improvements in the park next year. This season was chock-full of improvements that kept being announced separately and honestly felt like they just kept coming (Gemini Midway, Breakers, Lighthouse Point, Slingshot, new restaurants, etc). From an enthusiast standpoint, I felt this approach probably made it feel like more was done to improve the park than if it had all been announced at once. We do know that Breakers' renovation will continue this winter, so there may be some other small, yet noteworthy changes on the way. I must say I quite like Rougarou's color scheme...I doubt anyone saw that coming after the green paint appeared on Mantis earlier this season. I look forward to riding it at some point. I wouldn't call it a new credit, but in my books it's different enough to be worth checking out regardless. I am interested to see if any other changes occur for Rougarou, however. I could see them demolishing/building onto the existing photo booth and giving the ride a full-blown gift shop like Gatekeeper got. Speaking of Gatekeeper, I must say I'm interested to see standard floorless trains used here rather than Banshee/wing coaster seats and restraints. I realize the trains would be significantly wider, but aside from the station, I don't think clearance would be as much as an issue for a coaster like Mantis. I'm certainly not complaining as I have no problems with B&M's standard restraints.
  24. My personal pick is the Danville Red Roof Inn. It's about ten minutes away and usually has a good price. My only complaint is that their Wi-fi tends to be troublesome at times.
