I'm guessing it's: "The best theme park in the world" with a line below it saying "just got better," like last year. Hopefully it is a coaster, and while I doubt it'll be a B&M wingrider, I can see a zac-spin or euro-fighter being built. Both of those would be good additions, although the capacity wouldn't be high, and most of the general public probably hasn't ridden one. Then again, with Iron Wolf leaving, maybe we can see multiple rides added. If that happens, I don't see two coasters being added, but I can see a sky flyer being added if that's the case.

I'm not sure what to think about this coaster. It looks like a lot of fun, but it doesn't seem to do much for a coaster of its size. I understand it already costs $28 million, but it seems to me like so much more could have been done. It just looks like a larger version of the latest round of B&M hypers. Don't get me wrong, that wouldn't be a bad thing if it were sent to a park where it would be unique, but as has been said, it seems redundant with Behemoth. If Cedar Fair really wanted to send a giga coaster to the park (I'm with those saying it looks like it was designed for another park), I think a coaster like I305 would have been a better fit. Although, even with Behemoth and a less than impressive layout, the GP will still love this coaster. Cedar Fair is great at marketing their rides as being the best on the planet, and the GP from near and far travel great distances(especially for regional parks) to ride them. I'll still ride the coaster if I ever make it to the park, but I'm just unimpressed with what I see right now. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Ravine Flyer II yesterday. I was only at the park for two hours, and I'm glad I stopped. Ravine Flyer II lived up to the expectations and is an awesome ride. -

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Airtime&Gravity replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The last coaster I rode was Vortex a couple of hours ago. I don't know if it was from the heat, but it wasn't the most enjoyable coaster. There wasn't much head banging, but the car still shook a lot. -
No real loss for the park, as the ride almost never had a line. Hopefully the space it occupies will be used by a ride that the public wants to ride, instead of one that is almost banned by the Geneva Convention. While it has potential to be a good ride as it is fairly intense, it didn't have that potential at this park. No rehab would draw the general public to ride it even if it was incredibly smooth. Six Flags made the right move to, presumably to rehab and relocate it, and hopefully a great ride is added in its place. I'm a little more concerned by what appears to be the restart or the ride relocation program, and I hope that whatever new ride is added isn't sent to a new park after three years like in the old relocation system.

Just got back. I don't have any pictures, but a few things. Trees have been planted by the go-karts. While still pretty open, the area continues to look better. The Crazy Buffet-Lo was used as a cooling station with free water. Great to see Six Flags put guest comfort over income. The park was packed, but Iron Wolf still didn't have a line. The ride will not be missed. Someone in the car next to me on Giant Drop learned why you shouldn't try to sneak a phone on to film a POV. Gravity always wins. Despite the crowds, the park was still very clean and operations were great.

Apparently the park has been packed lately with Read to Succeed ending next weekend. Great America, while usually having great operations, can be really unpleasant when crowded, so I'd recommend a Gold Flashpass. With a regular pass, you'll just be spending that time out of line with little else to ride as(not counting S:UF), when one ride has a full queue, they all do. While it doesn't seem to be it's best this year, the park is not lackluster. The coasters are all solid, and American Eagle, Whizzer, and Viper are must rides. The flat ride selection is great too, with Giant Drop and the log flumes being must rides. I don't know how much you'll get to ride tomorrow though. By the time you get there, the park could be packed, have no Flash Passes, and be a miserable place. When Great America is good, it is really good, but things don't always seem to run so well when the park gets the crowds it is sometimes prone to sometimes get.

That's not good. I was planning on going tomorrow as the only other time I've been to this park was the second Saturday it was open(not counting my visit when the park closed after I was only there for an hour), but if it is going to be packed, I guess I'll just go the next time I can in two weeks. I still might go as I won't have many more chances to visit this year, but that's not cool. I know summer is a bad time to visit the park, but I thought crowds were light this year. Airtime-whatever happened to just giving out Pizza Hut coupons like when I was a kid?-&Gravity

Your Favorite Hotel Chain
Airtime&Gravity replied to Rollercoaster Rider's topic in Random, Random, Random
Where I stay usually depends on where I am. Drury Inns are our first choice, but we are also fond of Marriott's Select Service and Starwood Brands. All three have great rooms, but Drury Inns' extras make them our preferred choice. They have free snacks in the afternoon, free hot food(hot dogs, fried chicken, etc.) for dinner, free soda, free alcoholic drinks, an above average hot breakfast. -
While I'd like to see Iron Wolf stay, especially if it got new trains, it makes sense to remove it, although, like has been said, SFA people won't be happy to be getting a used coaster. The coaster has such a poor reputation, that getting new trains while at SFGAM won't help it. Except during Fright Fest, Iron Wolf never has a line, even when all the other coasters have full queues. So while it might have a poor reputation, if it does indeed receive new trains, it could end up being a great ride. It might not be that big, but it has an intense layout. So while enthusiasts might not like it, the GP at SFA will if it does receive new trains. If it doesn't receive new trains...sorry, and good luck when riding.

GriffyTiffy's 2011 Adventures!

Great Report The worst thing about moving the yo-yo is that it wasn't replaced with the zip-line as planned. That whole section of the park seems too open and out of place. If the zip-line doesn't end up getting built, I don't see why they killed that section of the park when everything could have been placed where the rides were relocated. Also, the mayflies were terrible when I was at the park three weeks ago -

Six Flags Great America was going to build a Mr. Freeze clone, but due to all the problems from the rides at SFSTL and SFoT, Camp Cartoon was built on the site instead. Also at Six Flags Great America, there were plans to build an entertainment area featuring hotels, retail, a water park, and possibly corporate offices across the Tri-State Tollway. I've heard that the reason this was never built was due to the park not getting permission to link the entertainment district to the main park and/or Six Flags would have had to pay for road improvements in the area.
