  1. My group has been trying to pick a place to go over President's day weekend, and Phoenix is an option. Thanks for reminding me there is a theme park open year round out there! Flume, coaster, and ARM tower are enough to grab my attention.
  2. It's late in 2017 but this might be the post of the year
  3. Congrats on a productive and adventurous 2017! You two look so happy in the pictures!
  4. 2017! The parks I visited: Carowinds, Valleyfair, Mall of America, Kings Island (Winterfest) A pretty weak 2017 so this will be an interesting top 10. 1. Afterburn 2. Fury 325 3. Renegade 4. Intimidator (Carowinds) 5. Steel Venom 6. Mystic Timbers 7. Wild Thing 8. Rock Bottom Plunge 9. Avatar Airbender 10. Excalibur (yes really haha) That feels...weird. Thanks 2017. I guess I only have myself to blame.
  5. Yeah man, this ride has a STORY. It's *highly* themed. Seriously, the night rides were really good. Ayy new credit in the books!
  6. Hey Bill, how's Nitro? Edit - good job, the crew is on pace for 1538 per hour. #imwithbill
  7. Cha ching! Yikes after being on the first train the ride already has a 45 minute wait. Really solid coaster, very okay GCI! Smooth from start to finish, twisty, and the classic GCI airtime. Not my favorite GCI but a good addition to the park. All the GP are talking about how scary the ending is They even changed the posters in line to fit the holidays! Kings Island you must have grown up in Wisconsin cuz you so cheezy
  8. Glad to hear you finally got on it! What was it, 4 attempts?
  9. Coming from someone with a background in video games this is pretty cool to hear. I didn't know anything about the project until you posted it and it sounds like a great time. Really happy to see these experiences evolving year over year.
  10. Looks like they've put a good amount of time and energy into re-imagining the ride, I like what they've put together! Screamin' is already really fun as is and I'm sure new guests and locals will enjoy the change.
  11. I've got to stop reading and take a minute to highlight this brilliant two-hitter, haha
  12. Just getting caught up! Great story telling, as always. Glad you had a great time in FL!
  13. True! The tables outside at Fridays are pretty good, but they can do better. Let's not forget they put in the swim up bar in the waterpark this year! Did anyone visit that this year/take pictures? Let's see em Oh man, the swim up bar at Cedar Point Shores is so good! There's no children allowed and they ID everyone going in. It's right on the water and has a great view of Magnum's turnaround. They sell beer and mixed drinks. Our crew had quite a few margaritas! Best place to take a break from the park in the middle of the day, cool down and have some drinks. Good to hear! Sounds like the perfect break from the park (and people) if you can catch a slow 2/3pm hour.
  14. hEY! That BTMRR pic would have fooled me if the train wasn't in it. Nice curveball
  15. You're not going to mention the park has a Gen 2 Intamin drop tower? Or an Intamin half pipe coaster? Try riding those, I'd say they have better airtime than an Arrow shuttle.
  16. Great pictures! This ride looks fantastic and I can't wait to check it out next year! In a couple interviews with Alan he mentions that there are almost always tweaks to the layout even after the ride is announced so it'll be exciting to see how the final product lays out.

  18. From the last few pages it doesn't sound like the park's being very optimistic about the ride. I really hope it stay because it's got such a great reputation from those who have ridden it. Isn't this the OG Intamin Fart coaster?
  19. I added Fury, Intimidator, and Wild Thing to my list of hypers this year. Almost forgot about Wild Thing The list: Magnum XL 200 Diamondback Goliath (SFOG) Raging Bull Phantom's Revenge Titan (SFOT) Intimidator Steel Eel? Tier 1 - I'd say Diamondback, Raging Bull, Goliath, and Intimidator are all in the same group. If I had to pick one to ride right now, I'd pick a name out of a hat. They're all really fun, but all have their own flaws. I did think Intimidator was a lot better than anticipated, even after riding Fury first! Phantom's Revenge was a also a surprise hit - not just the extreme layout, the super comfy seats and open cars. The short layout and the fact that I only got one ride on my visit prevent me from claiming it as my favorite hyper. Tier 2 - Magnum has given me some good and bad rides. I really never know what I'm going to get. Steel Eel: I haven't been on it in a long time, but I have fond memories of the airtime. Tier 3 - Titan is at the bottom due to the awkward pace of the ride.
  20. Great report, Chuck! Looking back through this report this was really the trip of launched coasters! Seemingly every page has at least 2-4, that's awesome. Thanks for posting and covering everything from parks to food to beer to culture!
  21. Great report! CN is the main brand I work on so I'm forwarding this to my team to check out now
  22. It's incredibly impressive how vibrant the colors are. Beautiful videos!
  23. Glad to hear MT is still running like it's summer! I'm getting more excited with each report to check it out in a few weeks.
  24. Wow, love the MineBlower light package! Looks great. Totally agree with everything you say about the sky flyers - that complete freefall is pretty much unmatched. I think the only comparable feeling would be the drop pod slides (the ones that are close to a 90*). I've done plenty of Skyflyers before but 300ft? Whew. That and the flipping slingshot genuinely scare me.
