  1. I'm not able to save any ranks in Chrome, FireFox, or Internet Explorer.
  2. When it comes to Xcelerator, I think we’re all in the same boat. The park has been very hush-hush about it. All I know is one of the trains is parked in the station with the second one completely out of sight. There was also a giant metal thing (catch car?) laying down in the station. I’ve heard everything from it opening in March, to it opening in 2019. Nobody knows. I’m still convinced HangTime will open first. EDIT: I also just realized that it has been closed for about 6 months now, which is the same amount of time it was closed when the incident happened in 2009. That happened in September ‘09, and it reopened by April ‘10. This time, it closed in mid-July ‘17, and it’s already January 2018. Must be really serious. Yeah, I think I'm SOL for my visit next month. Hey, the flume will be open and so will Ghostrider so there is still plenty to look forward to.
  3. After looking at the parks I've visited, Indiana Beach/Cornball Express is the only coaster missing that I think deserves to be ranked, but that's just me.
  4. What a great start to this Friday! Getting in on the action as soon as I can.
  5. I never liked this Intamin ride or had a positive experience across 2 visits. Without a doubt, the best part for me was ascending the tower because of the lean that the boat took when going up the arc, but it never turned out to be as scary as it looked from down below. The main point of the ride - the way down, was just water being sprayed in your face at such a speed you had to close your eyes, and the splash was an abrupt stop that had my knees meeting the plastic backs of the seats in front of me way too harsh, and I'm only 5'8"! At least log flumes have a curve to the drop to give you a little airtime, there was nothing great about the triangle slide in my opinion It seriously might be the only ride that I passionately disliked. Remember how big the splash was supposed to be? [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  6. Pretty impressive that they're saying it'll be ready to run by the end of March. Like Elissa said, it's just a Vekoma loop screw. They must really love that thing! Or think it's a significant part of their history. I know the footprint of the ride isn't huge, but I can't help to think that they could have put in a more thrilling looper since you could count Baron as their "step up" thrill coaster.
  7. I'll give this thread a little love. Heading back to Minneapolis this weekend and a must stop is any of the http://redcowmn.com/ locations. The best burger I've had (21 day dry aged blend). What do you want? Certified Angus Beef? Got it. 21 day dry aged blend? Got it. Bison? Got it. Local grass fed? Got it. Turkey? Ahi Tuna? Got 'em. http://redcowmn.com/50th-street-menu-1/
  8. That's a mega bummer. Definitely not the case with the sister Intamin reverse free fall in Australia.
  9. hmm. . where, ANYWHERE, did I predict Steel Vengeance won't be a hit?. BTW I'm not a "sponsor" either . . never even been to SFoG, but will go for first time this year. No need to explain yourself, bert, none of the guy's posts make any sense (not even to himself). I think SFOG's Twisted Cyclone will be the most overlooked RMC this year and will surprise a lot of people as well. There are some good looking elements on this ride!
  10. Hitting up Knott's and a lot of East coast parks this year will check off a heavy amount of bucket list coasters for me. But honestly, I need to stop messing around and get to Great Adventure and SFNE.
  11. This is very good to know (if indeed currently true). And, Zach, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who will consider using public transit to get to parks. Knott's promotes $8 off a round trip with https://www.karmel.com/ I'm only using it as a one way (so no discount for me), so it's going to cost me $25 (including tip) to get from LAX to Knott's in a shared 9 passenger shuttle. Not bad, especially when an Uber estimate is starting at $50. No way I'd want to risk getting a taxi or ride share the morning of when the drive is an 1 hour +. You just call when you land, then send the shuttle around to pick you up, and you're on the way. Hopefully it'll be that easy - I'll report back next month Cool, sounds good. Maybe that's the replacement for Knott's shuttle, or for all I know, it might actually be the shuttle I was looking into a year and a half ago. I couldn't find any other information in google searches and forum searches, so I believe this is it! I didn't realize Xcelerator has been closed since October. Hoping we see some update soon but something tells me they're not rushing to get it up anytime before spring break. Also, Fast Lane Plus isn't available. Is the because the only FL + ride was Xcelerator?
  12. If you start teasing a giga and it doesn't come true I'm going to hate you for life. Also, thanks for the pics. I wish D-back would keep the old seats. It was fun reading all of the TR's which raved about how great KI was, but the experience was almost ruined by Diamondback's "disgusting" - aka just faded, seats. I love seeing people get butt hurt over the small stuff. It didn't effect the experience, but goddamn were they ugly! So were the clamshells.
  13. If you start teasing a giga and it doesn't come true I'm going to hate you for life. That, pictures of Diamondback trains in the off season, confirming a BBQ restaurant... dude you do know KI PR browses this site, right? You've got links to your personal socials right next to your post
  14. This is very good to know (if indeed currently true). And, Zach, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who will consider using public transit to get to parks. I love trying out how different cities work. Unfortunately due to the time crunch I'll have to figure it out another time. I don't have 2 hours to leisurely make it to the park, haha. Knott's promotes $8 off a round trip with https://www.karmel.com/ I'm only using it as a one way (so no discount for me), so it's going to cost me $25 (including tip) to get from LAX to Knott's in a shared 9 passenger shuttle. 15. I love Mexico, and I'm loving this report! Although my time spent in Mexico was in Sayulita, Mexico City is high on my "next to travel" list. The people and culture and food are easy to fall in love with.
  16. Thanks. Is there any stock to the rumored cars ride return, or was that complete BS? The antique cars? It's a staple rumor every time there's construction But hey they gave their flyers to Carowinds and then ended up getting a replacement, so it's possible, but not as plausible due to the footprint. I'd love to see a flume upgrade and bring the sky ride back but now we're in la la land, haha.
  17. I'll give 'em a call and see what's up. I could totally see them not offering it outside of busy months, but hopefully I'll end up only spending $20 or less for the ride.
  18. Well deserved for everything you do! Congrats and cheers to another 9 million.
  19. Pretty stoked that I've got my flights booked and Knott's Hotel room locked up! I land in LAX at 8:30, what would be the fastest way to get to Knott's? When I booked my hotel I got an offer for Karmel Shuttles, which offers one ways and round trips. For $22 bucks that seems like a pretty solid deal since an Uber or Taxi for an hour would be pricey and public trans would take about 2 hours. I'm going the Friday of President's day weekend, so I'm not too sure how that will effect crowds. How's a Friday in February? I'll splurge on FL if needed.
  20. The Merlin coaster announcements make me cringe. Looks like it will be a decent GCI, and the fire effect has the potential to look cool, but they're definitely overreaching on all of their bragging points. This is my favorite part of the post: "Ride operating team will undertake over 100 hours of training each between now and the opening of Wicker Man so guests know that they are in safe hands and can ride in complete confidence." Because if you still think Smiler is dangerous, we're trying to trick you into thinking we're going to put fire close enough to the wooden track to burn the structure down!
  21. There's construction being done in Coney Mall across from the Racer that is suspected to be where the BBQ place is going on. It's all rumors and KI fan chit chat right now, so who knows if that's where they're going to put it.
  22. Great video! It's always awesome when the ride ops share their insight to the coaster. Thanks for putting it together!
  23. Looks like I'm going to be in LA over President's day weekend, which gives me the golden opportunity to use my platinum pass and visit a new park - Knott's! So I have a PP, can anyone throw out hotel recommendations? I'd likely fly in and go to the park on Friday 2/16 most of the day/night, then go in the morning or until other friends arrive in LA to meet up with them before we venture out to Joshua Tree. Fingers crossed they can get their Intamin back up before then. I've already missed out on Superman Escape in Australia, I'd hate to miss Xcelerator! Thanks!
  24. The same account that was trying to start rumors by taking pictures at parks in RMC gear? I mean cool if the space lines up and it's happening, but I'm not buying it.
